My FC660M came in yesterday, got this board with Cherry blacks to finally give linear switches a shot. So far I'm liking them but o-rings are a must for me with linears right now. Being used to clicky/tactile & heavier switches has me bottoming out these blacks pretty bad. I'm starting to adjust & get used to the actual actuation point of blacks, but I intend on doing a spring swap & lube job on the switches sooner than later hopefully. While I am enjoying the linear feel I personally find Cherry blacks to be a bit on the light side & having a slower up stroke than I'm used to. Surprisingly though I haven't noticed much scratchiness with any of the switches although some krytox to lube the sliders couldn't hurt. I'm thinking swapping the springs out for 67g gold plated springs & some krytox would give this board the perfect linear feel to me.

All in all though even at stock the FC660M really surprised me as to how nice it feels especially the key caps. If Leopold would've went with dye subbed legends on them, they would be definite keepers. Not a huge fan of the low profile step sculpture but they do feel right on this board. The board itself is very sturdy & well made, it has a nice heft to it that keeps it from moving around during use but it is not so heavy that carrying it around would be cumbersome. I have yet to crack it open but given Leopold's reputation I'd assume the solder work & internals are done to a high quality standard. I'd have no issues recommending this KB to anyone that is interested in it. :thumb:

The "Korean" springs are rated in bottom-out force, not actuation force. If I'm not mistaken, the MX Blacks bottom-out force is around 80g. If you prefer heavier springs, the 67g may not be to your liking.

Love it, Its my first topre board and I'm planning on modding them with 1/8 light dental bands, not soft landing pads or hyper's; they are too quiet.

I did not know that, thank you for the heads up! :thumb: Maybe swapping springs from Cherry/Gat Greens might be a better option for me? Anybody know if using springs from a clicky/tactile switch with a linear switch would cause any issues? I'd assume not since afaik the stems & leaves are what cause any clicking or tactility, but I could be wrong I'm still fairly new to the mech KB game & still in the learning phase.

The springs will be compatible but I believe Blacks and Greens use the same spring weight. Clears might be heavier but if so, it's not by much.
