I really, really wanted to buy the white set, but unfortunately the ugly font is big deal breaker for me.
Before realizing they are Cherry profile and would not mix well with my existing OEM profile PBT keycaps, I made a quick mock-up to see the lettering really black without the purple/blue fringing, in tenkeyless format and with some blank keys (presumably the ones to be replaced by other keycaps with better fonts).

If you really want black blanks, you could always buy the ones for sale now and get a cheap bottle of black rit dye (I think they are $3 or so online) and just dye them yourself....It SHOULD hid the text and the whole key should become black...but I can say for sure. Someone take one for SCIENCE!

Sorry if this was asked before, but does it come with the stepped caps lock like in the picture? That would be super awesome. Even more so if the caps lock is center-stemmed.
105 keys included with extra stepped capslock. The spacebar has 4 stems to fit Filco, Cherry 3000, Ducky, Das, etc. It doesn't fit Leopold. And, Cherry profile of course.

Yes, the Qtan PBT is OEM profile and this PBT is Cherry profile. Cherry Proflie is significantly shorter.
BTW, How's the texture on those vortex PBT's?

The majority will fit yes, but quite a few won't. Take a look at this keycap compatibility chart from WASD keyboards here: http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/keycap-compatibility (http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/keycap-compatibility)
Scroll down to the Choc Mini. For the yellow keys, you will have to use some of the extra keycaps in those places (such as from the number pad). For the red keys nothing will fit from this set.

These feel a lot better than the keys that came on my Leopold, IMO. These are smoother than the other PBT, but not bad smooth.
I don't feel it dulls them, but I find they feel nicer on blues than thin PBT.
A little birdy told me that QFR greens and thick PBT is perfection in MX keyboards.
Just a little little bit different compares to my KBC pbt.
I expect would be heavier but it's not. Because of the short Cherry profile?
Is there any OEM profile thick pbt available somewhere? I would like to try & learn more :))

I had this same doubt. I ordered a two-tone set and then a White one.
Then I changed my order from White to full Grey simply because, let's be honest here, a grey dyesub set is much harder to find than a white one, and probably more expensive.
When this GB ends, white dyesubs will always be easier to find then grey ones.
It's also always easier to find regular PBT white sets than grey ones. White is always the easiest and most common.

The only thing I can think of when looking at fonts is you can't really mix and match these with any other set of keycaps. and unless I'm blind or the Ninja side print caps are a different font, I don't think the font on this set looks anything like the Filco ones. Then again its 2:30AM and very dark here. lol

This group buy's set looks much more italicized IMO.
And I was also lurking on another feng group buy in which he stated he would be shipping out that group buy's item when he returns to the US after Winter break. Assuming he goes to school here, we should probably be hearing something from him in the next week or so. He also just posted a group buy tonight. So since he's managing so many group buys, while being on vacation, I can see why he's not able to give you guys a timely response. It definitely looks as if its an effect of the italicization. It's not wrong. Look at the "? /" key. The "/" looks like its at a 45 degree angle. The font just makes the "\" look ALMOST vertical giving off the impression that its the "|", while the "|" is slanted, but not as slanted as the "/" with this font.
Don't want you to miss out on a set this cheap! Unless you're thinking about a white set, then the legends are very wrong. :p
I ordered two sets myself, so I'm definitely not missing on this :D And yeah, I believe you're right, I opened Microsoft Word and tested the italicization on some fonts, and there are a few indeed where that phenomenon happens. Still a bummer, though.
On, and I'm almost sure the grey set will be completely grey. If I'm wrong I'll have to cancel my grey set order ;D

the vortex black on black dyesubs are thin and oem profile. also, VERY hard to see. harder than topre black on black. Also fwiw, the space bar is only three stems so if you have something off-center you'll need to find another space bar. I use an abs universal spacebar on my <redacted>.

The only other image of the gray that I found was on a listing on taobao... it also had an image of the WYSE set.

So I found the spacebar making a weird noise or feeling, different from my original qfr spacebar. I noticed that the new vortex pbt spacebar was a bit warped.
After using the blow dryer method, it was all better and the spacebar now feels normal again.
So in case any of you are having the same issue, you're not alone!

All new keycaps now on. Removed the spacebar and made sure the O-ring was forced home. Reassembled and all seems to be okay now.
Will use a thinner mica or nylon washer instead of the O-ring if it sticks again.
At least my keyboard is now quieter and I can see both the screen and the keyboard with my computer glasses. Couldn't see the white on black Filco keycaps and they wore after 2 months.
I now have a Filco feng ™ keyboard :)

[03/05/2013] Important Update: The colored sets were supposed to be shipped from China last week so I can get started with shipping this week before my trip on Sunday 3/10. But my supplier was waiting for the white keysets from a distributor so he can get the last few colored sets dyed last weekend, and he just shipped out all of the colored set to my shipping agent in China. Anyway, the colored sets are on the way from China, but unfortunately it seems like it's not gonna make it before Sunday, and I'll be flying to LA in Sunday morning. So I'll prepare shipping out all the colored sets when I get back from my trip on 3/16 and drop them to the post office on Monday 3/18. I'm so sorry about this huge delay as this group buy got delayed so many times and eventually it's on the way.

The first one was done in Photoshop. I personally think the lighter gray looks better. The WYSE set would look real good on a QFR for instance.
Oh right, I can see it now by the how the WNV keys look. Well, emptythecache's pics make the gray look a darker than the pics I've seen on KBDMania. So maybe they were dyed darker for this group buy?
I had imsto's dark gray PBT and the legends weren't as bold as I would have liked them to be on the darker background... this coupled with the smaller font from Vortex would be somewhat bothersome IMO.
All this being said I am still selling my set when they arrive... not because of the colors, but because I have very little patience. :)
Feng, I have a problem. I'm missing my G key. Yes, I've double and triple checked.it happens dude, my gray set from Imsto came with 7 keys damaged and I didn't checked the set for any missing keys. Lucky me checked it 2 days a go and saw that one key is missing, I contacted Imsto and told him about the extra key missing and also lucky that he hasn't shipped the keys yet... The set is gorgeous and feels amazing.
Highly recommended that you use the hot bowl of water trick, to straighten out the space bar. It was very frictiony when first installed due to the cherry stabilizers, so I straightened it out in a hot bowl of water (Ouch!!! I put up with the pain, to have a straight bar though :rolleyes:) I'll show you when I get my down arrow ;D

I have a confession to make. I no longer hate cherry stabilizers. I thought it was all like that - naw, I just had a warped space bar which didn't cope well with the cherry stabs.
The way I did it actually was very rudimentary...boil some water, then poor it in a bowl, then wait until it's boarderline too hot for your hands to be in, then push the space bar down wards, turned upside down so that it straightens out. (for liability reasons I will say no higher than ~120F but I think mine was higher... my hands were a bright red when I was finished. They're fine now lol.)
Why upside down? I'm only asking because it would seem more intuitive to push down on the top side, being that the bottom is flat and not rounded.
The particular bowl I used was a concave, very rotund bowl.
My space bar happened to be bowed end-up... meaning it bent like a u shape kind of, either end of it sticking up.
I've been waiting 4 months now for my keycaps. I was so into keycaps 4 months ago. Some people even accused me of spaming so I can sell something on geekhack. This is how much I was into keycaps. I couldn't wait to experience my first PBT set. I have no lost all interest in keycaps during this wait for my first set.

I just noticed that the \,| keycap is upsideI think they said earlier that the \,| thing is due to the italic font. So the non-slanted bar appears slanted and vice versa.

I thought the thicker keys would mask some of the clicky feel but they actually make them feel more crisp and solid.

Okay~ So for my report: I just placed them on my keyboard and must say they feel pretty damn good! They are currently placed on the Ducky Greens and I can say that the click does seem slightly more crisp but I wouldn't say more pronounced. I did notice though that the sound does get dampened quite a bit, which I expected because of the thicker plastic. It is now more of a clack than a click. I wouldn't say this is a bad thing but rather just different.
There is one problem that I did notice though, and that's that there seems to be a significant amount of scratches on them. This is my first time buying dyesub thick PBT's so I don't know if this a common issue but I just assumed it to be so. The numpad enter also has really warped paint/color. For the price I bought it though, I can't really complain :) I will post some pictures of this issue though. The blemishes didn't come out as well as I hoped but as those that have tried taking pictures of issues on keycaps before, it's not so easy to get the lighting right.
Also need to straighten out my spacebar but mine didn't come too bad. It doesn't really affect the functioning of the keycap but the slight bent shape is bugging me so I'll probably do the hot water treatment.

Luckily, you cannot feel the scratches on majority of the scratches but for large and wide scratches like that on my spacebar, you can feel them :( However, even those are ever so light to the touch. They look way worse than they feel :P

That's typical of all Thick PBT spacebar. Bend it in hot water or use a hair dryer.

I am still not convinced the warpage is because they use thick molding. That makes zero logical sense.

They do feel great and I'd be immensely happy if it weren't for all the problems with them. It's just that, as is, I spent around $100 for two sets that can barely work as one. It's specially upsetting when that's the price of an Imsto dyesub thick PBT set, which apparently does not suffer from any of these problems and it's higher regarded (specially considering the font).

It's fine, as long as it's relative to the the thread itself. My previous post was more about how TheeCOoon may have come off as looking for something that this thread was not selling (he was looking for something that CAN be engraved or blank, which this thread wasn't selling). Situations like this can come off as a person being lazy and just trying to circumvent the rules (which in this case, it almost seemed like the post count limit for classifieds) or just ignored/didn't read previous posts made in the thread. TheeCOoon's post was kind of ambiguous so I MAY have misunderstood (I'm not too sure). Either way, I thought I came off too harsh so I was going to post a link to a set, but do_Og@n posted the link before me so I came out looking like Hitler :P I did not mean to sound mean, if I did :)
Is posting about wanting to purchase key sets not allowed in a thread like this? I'm not exactly sure of the rules but I really wanted to get my hands on a set of the rainbow keys even though I'm not sure how I would go about asking the people on this forum for that and as far as I can tell there's some sort of post requirement for me to advertise that I want to buy keys.
