Post by: berserkfan on Thu, 14 November 2013, 02:25:32
http://www.ebay.com/itm/120pcs-Keycap-Rubber-O-Ring-Switch-Dampeners-White-For-CHERRY-MX-Free-Shipping/261265487004?_trksid=p3984.m2206&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D31%26meid%3D2691423388105370914%26pid%3D100052%26prg%3D1187%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D331034660039%26

Never seen them before, wonder how they feel like. Price is low, so I hope somebody here will buy and review the orings for everyone else!

Reduces the key travel distance and makes the switch feel squishy

Don't the red o rings do that also?

I'm trying to understand the difference between red, blue, black and white o rings.

Different materials and different thicknesses. Thicker reduces travel more, softer feels squishier. Those whites are thick and soft, so they reduce the travel more than others and feel squishy... I much prefer reds, although I have moved on to a better mod (trampoline mod): http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=50632.0

Ordered some of these from the same seller...still waiting for them in the mail.

I got them primarily because they are clear/translucent and would play better with my Shine II.

When I get them, I can compare them to the black o-rings that I already have.

Sadly is true, but all my spamming is done while at work and all my stuff is at home, where I only spend ~3-4 hours other than when I sleep :P

In other words, you talk a lot about keyboards, but most of the time you use your employer's rubber domes?

'Ello, 'ello, 'ello! What 'ave we 'ere? Would sir care to leave racism out of this, please, not to mention the unmentionables alluded to in sir's innuendous comment. Sir. Please. Sir.

Depends where they're from. Some use different colours to indicate the material used.

NEVER!

I use a ducky shine II with stock clears and originative dolch with a smooth operators spacebar and esc key.  :thumb:

Ducky Shine has clears?

Also, what is an operators' spacebar?

And how do you find your clears at work? Any complaints from co workers? (Answer only if you don't have your own office. A cubicle doesn't count as an office with walls and door you can close when you are typing.)

I do have an office, but I find them fairly quiet and no one has said anything, I don't pound too much and try not to bottom out, but when I first tried blues, my boss complained a lot, his office is next to mine.
