Title: Adding leds to my poker 2 keyboard
Post by: Hellcatz on Wed, 05 November 2014, 21:26:39
I have a few questions regarding the leds themselves. A nubs question but gotta start somewhere right? http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X50pcs+2x3x4mm+white+led&_nkw=50pcs+2x3x4mm+white+led&_sacat=0 (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.X50pcs+2x3x4mm+white+led&_nkw=50pcs+2x3x4mm+white+led&_sacat=0) These are the leds that I was thinking of getting and just wanted to know if it will work on my keyboard or not. or if someone could give me some tips on installations and give suggestions on good quality led that will fit my keyboard.

cheers

these LEDs in your link will work just fine:

any colour LEDs should work. The resistors are sized appropirately for all the LEDs I've tried, so you should have no issues.

As far as size, 2*3*4 is great and will work. I have 2*3*4 white LEDs just like those currently in my poker2. Also 3mm will work as long as it doesn't have a flanged base. They're better if you can get flat top, depending on your keycaps.

I recommend a smaller soldering iron tip as the LED pads are rather small.
