[Help] Resin Keycaps ?
«

I have seen some video's of resin keycaps just falling right off of MX switches due to resin caps being so loose. I really want this resin keycap sold by feng -
http://www.ebay.com/itm/MKC-Blue-Iron-Man-3D-Backlight-Cherry-MX-Keycap-/331023501429?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4d1289c875
- but I just want to make sure it will fit nice and snug on my stem so I will have no worries. Any input would be appreciated!

you can put a piece of tape on the key switch then put the keycap on the switch... it just takes a small square, but it'll tighten up the fit enough to keep the key from falling off.

Those really loose resin keycaps were, I think, from the first batch of resin blanks.
Haven't heard similar reports about the Hellboy and Skull resin keycaps that came much later.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
