That is a pretty amazing fact though. There are at least 2 record stores in town and I occasionally browse the new releases. I don't have a record player though. I like CD's though I can rip the songs to MP3 or FLAC easily.

USB vinyl record players are pretty cheap these days. A buddy of mine used one to rip his vinyl for ipod use (2006). Pretty sure he used flac encoding.

I used to volunteer at the local annual convention, and a frequent exhibitor has been a guy who had built himself a collection of movie cars, including a replica of the Keaton Batmobile.
At one time, he wanted to display his newly constructed Batmobile "Tumbler" (Nolan/Bale Batman), and showed up with it - on a truck that didn't have any ramp or crane. He enlisted a bunch of volunteers to get it down. We built a ramp by stacking pallets and rolled the car down it slowly with muscle power. That's one of the weirdest nerdy things I've done.
