I finally got around to adding Raccoon's TG3 keys to my Déck Legend.

So we went from this:

To this:

It's a bit like having a Hi-viz set on your keyboard. The font is slightly larger so the backlight goes from slightly blueish to a warmer white.

I really like that. If only Deck would learn to make a more normal looking font...

To be honest, I don't see what's wrong with it, except 2nd layer symbols on non-alpha keys.

The font used is not an ordinary font, but a rather gamer/techie font. If you're working in a professional environment or just don't like gamer-looking gear (like myself), then you really need/want ordinary font.

However, there's nothing inherently "wrong" with it.

The font is very different from fonts used by (other) gaming companies. There's something about it that reminds me of the infamous MS Comic Sans, but at the same time, other parts are more like the (infamous as well) Papyrus. It definitely isn't wanna-be-futuristic. It's just different, which is something that appeals to me in a way.

I'll never get the "professional environment" thing. Said a member of the socks-in-sandals culture.

There's a difference between being a professional (engineer, lawyer, etc.) and working in a professional environment. For instance, one cannot simply bring in a unicorn vomit or full pink keyboard to work at a government institution. I've noticed, though, that tech-related working environments tend to be less "formal" and allow for a relaxed work environment, which many users here have experienced.

Somewhat off topic but this made me think of a friend who is a coder for the military, he wore a deadmau5 head to work yesterday...

In many jobs perception is directly related to credibility so looks especially in your work area make a difference. It's like having a messy desk, some places it's a sign of work being done in others it means your sloppy.

Thankfully I have an office so people leave me alone!!!

And yeah I don't care for the deck font either...

The deck font is really an attempt to get as much light through the keycap as possible. In that respect it is successful.  I would argue it's not the legends that make it look unprofessional, it's the LEDs.

Ah, did you pay for the 14$ shipping? Thanks!

How long did it take to arrive? And great looking set! : )

Classic Beige from Originative. Not the Dolch set I've been lusting after but she'll do lad.

I like the classic look (he says, glancing down at his Model M).

Yeah the more I use it the more I love this set, was a bit worried it would look strange on my black Filco but I really like the contrast now.

8 days including a weekend, very impressed with the speed. Parcel had tracking within Australia too.

Did a full rebuild of my first mech ever, the Filco Majestouch I Mx Browns.

Plate already painted. Not a great job as I messed up the first few coats and got impatient after that. Switches lubed and remounted (real dumb of me to get scuffs on the plate while doing so, but I was lazy to repaint again as those marks aren't visible once the board is closed up):

Everything closed up, without caps. Gave the stabilisers healthy globs of super lube.

Added Sanctuary keycaps. Made me wonder why I painted the plate since it's not visible at all

Desoldered, stickered, lubed with krytox/victorinox, stock plate painted, and added drawer liner under the pcb for silencing. Basically, most of the mods that could be done. The result was good enough to draw me away from using the ergodox for the afternoon. ;D
