Thanks guys :D

I've been waiting a while for these - they are everything I expected.

How did you go about getting them?

Made a deal with TheProfosist - he bought one from Amazon, sold me the keycaps, sold someone else the case, and kept the rest for himself.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Freaking hard to find alps key caps. :( Harvest these laser caps from a dell 101W for everyday use.

Was never a big fan of black case with beige/white key caps...but this will have to do for now. :(

Old Apple keyboards (AEK, AEK2, Design) have nice PBT Alps keys but the legends are those weird thin off-center italics.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

It looks nice, but am I the only one who thinks those girlDC caps sit too low on the stem compared to the other keycaps?

I agree the base could be higher, he looks as if he's peering over the tab key.

I've noticed that my ironman sits pretty low as well. The punisher that I just got actually has a taller base and sits pretty high up, although the punisher face is flat as opposed to raised like ironman.
Looking for CC's!

Well the Punisher icon is a 2D design where Ironman is a 3D guy, so idk. If you angled the Punisher it'd be kinda weird. Or, the Punisher was the first keycap Girldc ever made. Maybe he was inspired by the ClickClack.

Can you actuate the keys once they're mounted on the housing or is it a static display?

The modular housings were originally intended for use with a membrane or pill switch so they have no spring return in themselves.  So basically static unless you add to them.  some info about them here: http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=38617.0

thanks,

This has already been answered, but here's my two cents...

The keys can move, but it's only by manually moving them. The white barrels slide up and down in the black base, but since there's no spring or membrane to push the barrels back up, the keys like flat on the base.

Hi. Can you stick/glue a Cherry MX spring underneath so that it would pop up? Thanks!

Is the color off or WASD got a new red? It looks more blood, before I had 'red' from them it was more like brick orange.

I am not sure about a color change.  The red in the smile keyset is close to blood red imo and these are a bit lighter.

The feel of the WASD keycaps are terrible, imo. They feel so slippery and they have no texture whatsoever. Doubleshots are far, far superior.

Nah their keycaps feel great! For maybe like a week or two before they lose texture. I love WASD and what they have to offer but their source for key caps isn't that great. I wish they could have gotten that deal for PBTs.

This could be it - they do look nice, but in a dark, moody kind of way :)

Normally I don't go for the translucent doubleshots.  The GH January pack didn't do it for me.  However those remind me of the translucent red dice they use at the real tables and they totally work.  Bravo.

I think I was hoping i3 would be giving a set away in one of his "Spur of the Moment" giveaways, and I could pick up a set that way. We will just have to wait and see, eh i3oiler?

For once there are some translucent/transparent keycaps that would look better with red backlighting.  Finally (he says, looking at his red backlit Ducky).

But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Is the color off or WASD got a new red? It looks more blood, before I had 'red' from them it was more like brick orange.
Yeah these look more Red than I though the WASD stuff was. Maybe they changed it.
