Perhaps. I've heard speculation (here I think) that Cherry switches are probably made in Taiwan as well, even though Cherry keyboards themselves are made in Germany or Czech Republic (except for some very cheap membrane boards which are made in China). It seems all roads lead to Taiwan after all.

I am all for any company that goes by STRONG WANGS ENTERPRISE CO., LTD.. And on the about page it says they make Alps switches, so I think this is the cheap clones they are talking about.

Yeah, the article really got me nervous and looking at ALPS catalog didn't see anything that looks familiar
