Viper and eagle buy is happening right after the lightsaver v2 buy, which is starting right after the Orion gb is shipped, I believe

i absolutely want one of these. if i have to pay a bit more to have someone ship me one from the US, that's fine, as long as i can help this happen sooner rather than later.

i live in europe right now :) but there are no EU group buys that i know of. so if a US group buy is the fastest way for me to get one, i will participate and have someone send mine here if they are all delivered to the US.

Well, I was going to reply with the "Why not both?" girl but you preempted me.  Dang.  But for what it's worth I really like the HHKB layout.  I especially like the placement of the arrow keys.  Within a week or two the function layer gets so easy to use it's second nature.

What software is used to program these?

Are the settings stored keyboard-side, or in a config file on your computer?

I mean, push comes to shove, I can just use xmodmap, or something, but I wouldn't be able to map function layers, which on a 60% are completely necessary.

Firmware is here for basically all Duck boards http://duck0113.tistory.com/84. The program generates a .hex file which is flashed to the keyboard itself including macros and LED controls.

Thanks!  Looks like it may even be fairly straightforward to use.  And it would be great if the board could 'remember' your setting from computer to computer.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "settings" but the keyboard layout you choose (including macro keys) is programmed into the onboard controller. If layout and O2D programmed macros is what you mean by settings that's exactly the case.

Yeah I guess I didn't define my terms correctly.  That is exactly what I meant by settings.  Not so much the macros; mostly the function layer.

The only thing I'm worried about is if this opens up as a GB on geek hack and only supports 15 spots like the lightsaver v2 then I'll miss it because it will probably fill up real quick.

This might even be more popular than lightsaver or orion cause of the uniqueness of it being one of the only HHKB-styled MX boards that don't use blockers.
I expect upwards of 30-40 people wanting to get this.

Yea. It's like I'm going to have to watch the GBs twice a day after the lightsaver GB ends to get a viper.
