Here's an Oktoberfest set (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Clack-Factory-Click-Clack-Cherry-MX-Keycap-Octoberfest-SET/161913159184) that I expect to be even more ridiculous. Haven't ever seen this before. Probably one of the $100+ clackvent grabs.

Probably shill bids. Seems to happen pretty regularly. Cap goes up. Price is obscene. Shows up again a month later from the same seller.

Honestly it's just as bad. By shilling bids they can incrementally and artificially increase the value of stuff like this due all the people commenting about how ridiculous the current bid is. If you tell a lie long enough at some point it is no longer a lie. Somebody will end up seeing another listing a month later and think they got a good deal by spending $200 on something that would otherwise have gone for $100.

The highest bidder actually has over 100 feedback score (not that 100 is a large amount, but it gives me hope considering they don't have 0). We'll see whether or not they were shills.

That happens when someone is trying to incrementally outbid them and they have a max bid set.

I notice that he is bidding on another auction for the same cap and more.

contacted seller to notify him, he replied once then stopped replying altogether...
for sure i ve been scammed, probably why the price went so high in the first place?

I have barely had any contact with buyers/sellers once money is paid and item is shipped thats it and even this does not require anything more than auto notifications. Maby the buyer just has no interest in talking to you?

prob becuz someone paid 5x the real price of the cap, and it's pretty easy to scam on ebay

People pay pretty high prices for these anyway all it takes is someone who is new and has a lot of disposable income to push the price through the roof.
Dont most scams on ebay involve taking photos of an identical item that has been damaged and getting a forced refund (usually common electronics). Or send fake paypal notifications to get a seller to ship before payment has been sent. Say the person was a scammer, what would their next move be? Is the seller covered? I mean i doubt the person has a spare broken clack to take photos of to ask for repayment.
Is the address for the buyers ebay account the same as paypal and can you look the name up on any electronic database like a phone directory to confirm residence?
Has the seller looked up the name on facebook etc to see if any details like location match. Little thiings like this might provide peace of mind.
Did you send out the package so it requires a signiture for delivery? If so it starts to get difficult to claim the package was lost

not too sure yet. buyer bought two more clacks from another seller so we conversed and he feels that its unlikely. Funds still wont be released till 1st january or earlier if the buyer states that he has received it. xmas season now so most parcles are getting delayed now
