Just getting around to listening to Weezer's new album.  I've been under the belief they're a different band post-Maladroit, while it's not as bad as some of their more recent albums, it still can't hold a candle to some of their early stuff like the Blue Album and Pinkerton.

Scurrilous was still great, but when your other 3 albums are absolutely incredible, and expecially following Fortress, it's not going to seem as good. Sucks that they lost Moe and Arif though, especially after the awesome bass playing in Volition

I think you're probably right. Scurrilous's problems to come from the fact it was after a couple years of listening to fortress. Sequoia throne was the first song of theirs I heard, I was hooked instantly lol.

Ne Obliviscaris is similar in that regard. Heard 'and plague flowers the kaleidoscope' and was instantly hooked.

I'm in Indianapolis for this fall. The metal scene here is garbage :( Every show I want to go to is at least 2 hours away. I will be going to Cincinnati for arch enemy and starkill tho :D

Then in the middle of january a few days before I head back out to NY Dark tranquility and insomnium are playing in some town an hour north of Indy. I am way too excited already. I've seen them both in the past and they were amazing. Having them both at the same show is going to be nuts!
