i hate sloths.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

no girls?

Too few. There is a very small number of knowledgeable girls here, who occasionally make valuable contributions, but otherwise no, or else they keep quiet about it.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

Unfortunately I don't think FinancialWar cares about this because he cares about gender equality.

28:1 is a pretty pathetic ratio

Presumably, it is not because girls don't care about keyboards, but because they don't want to belong to a "keyboard club"

Yes but when 28:1 =28000:1000,
1000 =/= 0

the stats page

http://geekhack.org/index.php?action=stats

That is amazing, I never knew it existed. Staggering numbers of wasted hours. I suppose that if I just left the GH tab open all day I would rack up a lot more hours than I do by opening it and closing it regularly.

Too bad that much or all of the pre-r00tw0rm data is gone, didn't ripster have 50K posts or something like that?

what in the world brings a keyboard to a classroom to use with their laptop?

Someone who actually cares enough about what they type on.  Or someone with RSI and gets relief from typing on that Edox vs the laptop keyboard.  Myself I can't remember the last laptop keyboard I actually liked typing on.  The keystroke is way to short.

what school is this...  My school was literally full of macbooks... everyone had macbooks...

Your school is so much more awesome.

Apple hardware is overpriced around here.

This was a SailfishSDK installfest at Brno University of Technology, I didn't study there and neither did most of the other people in the room.
