I have the set. They are dark/hard to read. The dark grey surrounding the purple text doesn't have great contrast.

Was there no way to try an fix this? I was really looking forward to this set an I know I dont know much about GMK but I'm guessing maybe they might have been able to attempt to make it more eligible rather then just sending out.. Seems a little fishy how we didnt see 1 cap from the set before shipping and now everyone just ends up getting a set with mods you can barely read..

Is the purple in the mods the same as in the alphas? The purple in the mods seems so much more grey than the rest of the purples

This set uses stock colors (DY and N9), so it really would have been the designer and runners to see that the two colors would net a rather low contrast modifier combination.

It's much darker than in the renders for sure.  Were there no samples made prior to mass production?  The lack of contrast makes it look fuzzy

Good news is that it seems like a lot of people in this thread have expressed interestin the set, so you should be able to get good resale value either here on geekhack or on mechmarket. Sucks you don't like the set though sorry about that.

I like the set, its everything promised wrapped in violet goodness. There's just zero contrast between the two mod colors making it hard to read.

I'm pretty happy with the way the set turned out. I'd never intended the mods to be bright. But I can see how some might think it's a bit muddled and doesn't contrast well. This was my first set design, first interaction with GMK, first everything. I trusted that everything would look how it did in their (GMK's) renders, and honestly, to me, they do. I'm sorry (truly) if the kit doesn't meet up to what you'd hoped. As others have said, there are a lot of people that really want the set even after seeing the pictures, so you should have no problem unloading them. If you are extremely unsatisfied, let me know, and I'll see if I can help mediate a trade or buy, or dig up some money I don't have and buy the set back from you

From what I have seen they production matches the render very well. Like you said, there wasn't a ton of contrast in any of the renders.

The picture you took, reflects very well what it looks like in person. It's not very crisp from far away, but the legends are quite visible while using the keyboard (to me, with my glasses on). And again, that's not too far from what I was going for. The original IC had custom colors, and I was called an idiot many times over for not just using stock GMK colors because "it'd never hit 250 moq", and they were right(ish). After a few months of debate, that's what I decided on, and I still stand by it. I designed this set for myself for fun originally, and it just so happened that a bunch of people liked it. I'm still very happy with the result, and eternally grateful to everyone who helped make this happen. My giant 6'4, 230lbs cried a lil bit when we hit MOQ. I love you all.
