The Colors

As with the previous version, this is still my inspiration, so don't come at me about thai tea not being purple, cause there's definitely purple in that pic.

After struggling to get Pantones to render as I was seeing them, I picked up a RAL book and decided to switch to that. While I do feel better about these, remember that all renders are an approximation and all of our screens can vary in how well colors are represented.

Alpha Base: RAL 075 90 20
Alpha Legend: RAL 050 50 60

Mod Base: RAL 350 20 15
Mod Legends: RAL 050 60 60

Accent Base: RAL 050 50 60
Accent Legend: RAL 350 20 15

Note that the alpha legends and the mod legends are two different shades of orange, the reasons for this were twofold, one it adds a bit more diversity in the oranges in the set, and it also helps with the contrast.

I set up a profile for my camera in lightroom using an xrite color checker, but I'm far from an expert. These are in no way guaranteed to be 100% color accurate, but should be used to give an added idea of what the color should be in addition to the renders

Renders
I did these renders with a variety of lighting, to hopefully give a rough idea of how these colors will fluctuate based on your particular desk setup.

Here we have a burgundy Campine mk. VII by Panc.Co

What's that? More renders?
How about some luxurious suede?

Or perhaps a towel material, so you can use your keyboard to dry off.

Foam for an extra quiet board?

Or maybe you'd prefer an open sound.

Or if money is no object, maybe a board made out of topaz.

If you wanna keep tabs on this project and more, feel free to join my discord server!

Thanks to pnkpanther, Dalesnail, and Nathanalphaman for all the rendering tips, Jae for letting me tarnish the J-01 model with this set, and alexatpanc for for some reason believing in me.

No thanks to jacobsmirror. You did this. You're responsible.

Don't let your memes be dreams:

OLD IC
More

As the premier beverage-themed keyset designer it's my pleasure to introduce GMK Thai Tea.

What's that? "But you just did a tea-based set with Taro?" Too bad! You're not my supervisor!

After Taro R1, jacobsmirror came told me to do Thai Tea, but I said "no, that's ugly" and never gave it a second thought. Until about 2 days ago, when I was like "oh yeah, I've been messing around with Fusion I guess I can finally mess with this without having to pay for someone else to render it". And here we are.

Base

Spacebars

"Only 2 kits? But pwade, Taro had so many kits, I need more!" To which I say, did you see where I said "2 days ago"? Holy crap laying out kits is tedious. Oh and the 1.25u spacebar might look like it's not r4c, because it's not. Didn't have a model for that one, oops. Just go ahead and use your imagination.

Vendors
Abandon all hope ye who enter here.

Artisans
No artisan collabs from anyone with good sense, surely.

Deskmats
I said I was learning Fusion, not InDesign, you think I got a desmat designed in 2 days?

Renders
Oh yeah, time for the payoff

GMK Thai Tea on a white J-01, so lovely.

GMK Thai Tea on a poly Campine mk. VII by alexatpanc

GMK Thai Tea on a black Mech27. What do you want from me? The files are easily available and I didn't have a TKL model to work with, okay?

Wouldn't be a pwade set if it didn't have some kind of purple in there.

This isn't really for me, but I can see this being really popular. If a regular beige set is a cubicle, this is your wood-paneled study with a warm fire.

That metaphor worked better in my head.

Weeb sublegends, Hangul sublegends... Zhuyin, Cyrillic, Greek...

If there is ONE keycap set that should come with Thai sublegends, this is it.

Zhuyin for sure.

I just didn't have models on hand to mock that up.

Feel like the main shade should be a little bit more orange and less of the dark salmon/orange mix it is now. Also boba novelties would be amazing

If a vendor actually shows interest in this set, I would definitely work more at nailing the colors, time was a bit of a factor and as I mentioned, still new to using Fusion so my color accuracy isn't quite perfect yet.

This is a bit more orange and a little less pink than the two favorite colors of an atomic pathologists everywhere, hematoxylin and eosin.

First of all, I do love the color. But this is not quite really Thai tea, a lot of comments on this in Thailand mechanical keyboard community.

Totally in for Thai subs!
