GMK Matcha Mocha
a semi-minimalistic take on what could arguably be one of the most delicious and energizing desserts known to human mankind

Welcome everyone, I hope you are all having a great day!

Hereby I present you to, well you already guessed it; my first ever publicly revealed Keycap set, based on two of the best tasting awakeners, which, when combined together, make for one of the most delicious desserts you could possibly imagine (and will give you enough energy to make your day a guaranteed blast).

With this set I was trying to achieve a colourful, comforting and yet minimalistic design, which could look good and aesthetically pleasing on many different boards, regardless of their style.


Anyways, enough with the talk, let's just get right into the real juice you all came for:

Please note that although this picture was taken with a professional camera and colour corrected with a grey card afterwards, depending on the lightning, especially the green sometimes looks a tiny little bit darker/creamier IRL.

Would love if the kit was a lighter shade of brown. Matcha mocca doesn't really make sense to me because I keep on thinking of Starbucks' matcha green tea frap, but there's no dark brown in it, lol. However, that'd make the set matcha cream, which would change the name of the kit. Not sure of the maker wants to do that because then we'd be talking about almost a different kit all together, but oh well.

Looks good other wise.

This looks really good! Reminds me of a tastier version of GMK Chocolatier.

I'd like to pair this with a Green-colored anodized Planck case from Drop, but I'm hesitant to, since outfitting that 47-key layout means buying over 200 of these keycaps. Might be worth it tho, if the Extension kit had these added:

I have never heard of this candy, but looking at these pictures alone actually already makes my mouth watery + the colour are actually pretty much identical to what I used for the set  ;D

That was my thought, hehe. It's worth finding if you can get it anywhere local, though I suspect nothing we have here compares to German chocolate. It's a really fluffy and bubbly milk chocolate with a mint filling and it is indeed mouth wateringly good.

Hello everyone, I'm incredibly happy to be able present you with the final kitting update today (no major changes though):

The Dessert (Base Kit):
-replaced the r3 "pipe" key with r3 "~#" key
-fixed/converted "blank" 1u key in numpad into a 1u "+" key
-changed OS keys from "code" to "super"
-added r3 "PgUp"
-added r4 "PgDn"
-changed r4 "|" to "<>"
-removed second 1u "ctrl"

The Weeb Add-On (Hiragana Sublegends):
-added top right "ー" to the "-_ほ" key

Actually... those two changes together have made things worse. It should be R4 <> and R3 \| (English (US), terminal style); R4 \| and R3 #~ is the common "partial British support". The <>/#~ combo in the kit, as it stands now, makes no sense.

Agreed. The R3 key should be changed from #~ to \|. Additionally, the bottom row R4 \|む key in the hiragana kit should be changed to <>ろ so that the hiragana ISO keys match the regular ISO keys.

I would suggest making the を character ever so slightly larger in the renders (make it the same relative size as the わ below it), so that it's completely conspicuous that it's using the correct mold with the larger character.

Hi, first of all, thank you to so much for bringing this dumb mistake to my attention.
I took the feedback from two different sources, without thinking about how they might contradict each other.
This was a really dumb/unthoughtful mistake, and again, I'm really sorry for the sloppy work.

I have just updated both, the Base and Hiragana Kit, to fit/actually make sense.

Although I went with the "R4 \|"and "R3 #~" (also for Hiragana) combo, since I much prefer it that way personally, and believe it to be more fitting.

Again, thank you so much for bringing this up to my attention and giving the useful feedback, I much appreciate it as always :thumb:

Please note that the R4 ISO key in hiragana should be ろ regardless of whether the base legend is <> or \|. See this diagram (https://imgur.com/3YODxTM) and pay regard to the notes at the bottom.

You may also be interested in reading about the intricacies of choosing the ISO legends. I've written about this before here (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=90706.msg2894820#msg2894820) and also presented some statistics here (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=106305.msg2908129#msg2908129). While I do make the case that \|, <> are objectively more consistent and more useful, keeping the legends that you have a strong personal preference for is fine and no one can fault you for that.

But I will still be sticking to it the way I currently have it, since I still believe in that option more personally, I hope you can understand that decision :)

Hey everyone, so I know it's been a while, but we have been very busy, working on a lot of updates behind the scenes.
So, prepare yourself, there are a lot of great updates coming up over the next few weeks;
starting of with the first one:

The Group Buy for Matcha Mocha will actually start this year, around the perfect time; on the 1st of December 2020!

As many of you might already know, AuraMech has been in quite a lot of drama recently.
Because of that, we have mutually agreed, that it would be better, for everyone, to run this set with another vendor instead.

A few days ago now, I had been informed by Ragan, from SpaceCables, that he unfortunately, due to the, even after the second round of quotes from GMK, current price of the kits, plus/and most importantly currently relatively low demand for the set, would not be able to run this set.

Over the past few days I have been in talks with the amazing people behind Kono (which was actually the shop I bought my first ever keycap set from, back in the days), who have graciously agreed to step in, when I needed them the most, and help me bring this incredible dream of mine to live.

Because of that, the Group Buy for Matcha Mocha won't be able to start on Dec 1st, as we originally planned, but instead, will most likely have its new starting date on January the 19th (2021).

We are currently still speaking with all the other vendors, if that date would work for their schedule as well, and I will let you guys know, as soon as I got any news on it!

Until then, sorry for all the inconveniences and stay save!

So, I saw than there recently was some confusion about which vendor would proxy the Rama-Artisan for the US-Region, since Kono doesn't offer Rama caps:
Actually, Rama themselves will offer the Artisan on their own page, so either that, or Ashkeebs, would definitely be the best choice for my fellow American folks :)

Hi, the pricing is set at a MOQ of 250.
The reason why the cost is relatively high, compared to some other sets nowadays, is because both of the colours have yet to be matched by GMK, which increases the work on their site and due to that, also raises the price up quite a bit.
