What flavor is boba supposed to be? Like a licorice mucous?

The defacto Traditional flavor is  Oolong tea w/ Milk or Cream.

Not sure but the taste and texture put me off.  An yet, in SoCal, college folks would wait an hour on weekends at certain places before the 'rona hit.  /shrug

Weathering is an Art-Form

(Attachment Link)

It is, but a single scratch/dent on an otherwise clean set is something else entirely.  It's angled perfectly to catch the light so it's no good, I'll have to swap the set to another board which uses the other size.

Given all the objects available to modern humans, we've become disconnected.

There is a fundamental Leyline which connects all things. It USED to be the case that the longer an object is used, the stronger its connection.

Historically, such objects achieve such power that they are considered nexus points. Some gain notoriety and are considered cursed.

This invisible mastery has become very weak among today's youths.

You mean like this?

241319-0

Not sure you can see just how many dents there are along both the front and back edges but the love/wear on the buttons is clear.  This is an item that is meant to be used and abused and has been for nearly 7 years and will be for many more I'm sure.

My keyboard on the other hand leads a sheltered life and should be dent free.  It isn't - there's a similar dent/scratch on the spacebar, sloping the other way.  Daylight shows the spacebar, fake light the Alt...  The other board uses the same Alt so I'll have to pretend I'm American

All I know is I'm never buying another Google phone ever. The Pixel has been nothing but a failure to me. Battery shutdown at 50% power now after a factory reset and battery replacement. Absolutely unacceptable. Someone else will get my money because Google has proven themselves unreliable.

Oh no! I just got one, because my daughter has had one for over half a year and loves it, and recommended it to me.

Which model?

I have been considering a Pixel 3a or the upcoming Pixel 4a, but I've heard the Pixel 4 is pretty crap.

Pixel 2. I'm just not cool with a company that makes a phone that dies at 50% and when prompted to fix it TWICE they failed.

Update: Now my phone dies every time I use the camera. Just shuts down like it's too intense an app and reboots. Cool. Good phone. Only holds 40% of a 100% charge and shuts down when you use one of it's main features.

Have you checked the battery ? if an area of the cell is dying/ dead, the current will suddenly drop , so even if it's reading 50% voltage, the current can't actually be sustained, so the phone dies.

This is a common battery problem for all dying phone batteries.

Also, my right shoulder is hurting, probably from bad posture while mousing. Got the trackball out again.

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. I'm bothered that by working as a front-liner in the medical field and having contracted the disease myself (thankfully, I fully recovered and produced antibodies) that people do not understand the gravity of the situation. It's gotten to the point on the news that the more we hear about those who have tested positive and how high the casualty count is, it's teetering on normalcy. The cynic in me sees that people who don't take precautions get infected deserve it; the benevolent side of me hopes they recover and take care of themselves in the future.

But hey, let bygones be bygones and the lesson learned will be theirs to keep.

I enter a train carriage, at first glance it's empty as usual but a closer look reveals two passengers.  Are they well spaced, as would be senseble?  Wearing masks?  No, one's sat directly behind the other.  Thankfully I'm nowhere near them but I'm still bothered by the stupidity of my fellow humans.

On closer inspection (from outside the train) they were actually sat across a table so to make myself feel better I'm going to assume they live together.  Doesn't explain why they're on a train in the first place though...

The only acceptable answer by my understanding - to go to work.  Either I can cycle past 50 people out for their daily exercise (this was before they were allowed out multiple times a day so may well be worse now) with a metre gap if I'm lucky, or I can sit on a train usually with a carriage to myself and pass one guy in a high vis jacket either end - I'll happily ignore the 'official guidance' because it's clearly aimed at city folk.  I'd rather save money and get more exercise but given the circumstances I'll take the non-optional ride home in the dark.

Seems very unlikely that a couple would both have a job that starts after 1PM in the same place.  I guess they could be half of a funeral audience?  They weren't wearing black...

And you're young enough to enjoy it so please do!

Hopefully you know where you want to go in life and will put in the effort to get there, whether that be a career, relationship or whatever.  If you don't know by the time you leave compulsory school you can't aim and life becomes a frustrating countdown to death with the world reminding you twice a year that time is passing.  Obligations stack up to steal your resources and freedom through no choice of your own and though you still don't know what you want you do know that if you did know you can't do it anyway.  Replace 'you' with 'I' if you think I'm not normal (you'd probably be right)

Bet you wish you never asked, enjoy your day :)

Obligations stack up to steal your resources and freedom through no choice of your own and though you still don't know what you want you do know that if you did know I can't do it anyway.  Replace 'you' with 'I' if you think I'm not normal (you'd probably be right)

Bet you wish you never asked, enjoy your day :)

They say this might be changing with Base Salary 4 all though, at least in europe ?

Not 2080ti kinda money, but enough to not die.

Another year wasted and nothing to look forward to, birthdays (and new year) should be banned.

Why ? It’s my birthday tomorrow

It's weird how this happens. I knew what I wanted to do when I was 18, but I didn't follow through with it because I didn't think it was realistic, and ties to home made it easier not to continue also.
Maybe they're waiting for gasmasks and latex to get sexy again.

The world has become a weird place.

I need to move to the Southeast 150 miles away, but all houses to let go like hot pies. And I can't move to the area to view the local property quickly because all hotels and Airbnb's are closed...
Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

You know what NO ONE ON EARTH enjoys? Warm wilted grease coated lettuce. So stop putting lettuce on hot food!

Where I'm from, you can't get away from that if you're getting some good halal food. I once asked for no lettuce with mine and they wanted to charge me an extra $2.
