^45g vs 55g impressions?

It's definitely noticeable, but it's not so much of a striking difference as I originally thought. I'm going to be using this one (the 55g) at home for gaming, as the 45g was causing my left ring finger to cramp up. I think it was because my hands are so big, and I needed to constantly hold my fingers up to avoid registering a keypress. Hopefully the stronger rebound of the 55g will help.

The snap on the 55g is much crisper, and the Topre "thock" is deeper and more "thocky", if that makes sense. As far as general typing goes, I'm going to wait until I have a few days going back and forth from work and home before I make the call on which one I like better.

I will say I like the blue/gray color scheme much better on the AE than on the 45g tho, and of course, a certain element of bragging rights comes into play :D

All in all, I'm unbelievably stoked on it.

Unfortunately, no. You just have to watch that page when you can and hope for the best. Even after the initial sale, Brian added some here and there to replenish stock. Just need to be diligent in checking.

KMAC is nice, but it is custom board, and either it suits your taste or not. Though I do understand the argument, if you are going to pay so much, there should be some more options. I don't really care much for backlight key, but I really don't get why they have on function keys of all places when it's only a partial. Oh well, it's 98% about the build quality of the case and such anyway in my opinion.

Don't consider the Korean boards customs.  They are small-batch hobby manufactured boards.  Phantom is closer to custom (plenty of options) and Dox is the closest considering there was never a bulk run of anything.

I consider all of these and other Korean ones as custom boards. They have super limited runs and they might as well be one off as far as I am concerned in obtaining one. I have read the other thread about the reasons why there are so few, and I get they have space concerns and so on, but... there are ways. I mean sh!t I live in a 200sq ft apartment, and I would have no problem organizing and distributing a big keyboard buy if it was necessary. It's what relatives garages and whatever are for right? Store 30 here, 30 there until you can get them shipped out. It's not that complex and you can have bigger buys for lower prices. I wouldn't want to do it on a regular basis, but I mean really, not that bad to do once a year or something if you really wanted to.
Also I will assume that in a smaller country like S.Korea, a good deal of the active members live in one of the larger cities like Seoul, so they could easily spread out the burden. Sorry, but I am calling cop out on that excuse. I still feel they do it for an 'elite' status.
