Tidied up OP a little with images.

I think I shall have to make a googledoc thing and take down real numbers for interest on what items. (polos/beanies/tees/hoodies etc)

I would totally be in for some merchandise. I'd at least get a beanie, but I'll probably be in for just about everything.

I really like the beanie with "geekhack" spelled out on the dark grey color. That one looks nice.

How about a beanie with the logo at the top of the forum? Or a t-shirt? I like that a little better than the regular geekhack.

Can easily screen print on hoodies, I just wasn't sure if there would be much interest in them.

I'll sort myself out this week and get a form up to see some numbers!

Yeah I figured hoodies would only work if there's a nice enough graphic, just plain stitching might be a tad boring :)

Hi, I've been a lurker for a little bit and I would be interested, but I've never been a fan of the geekhack logo font. I know it's probably blasphemy, but something just irks me about it, especially if it's going to be displayed on a clothing item. Maybe try something a bit more modern. Here's a quick mock up I did to just put in my (probably worthless) two pennies. *goes back to lurking*

I got some rough prices for stuff at work today, I shall update the OP tomorrow at some point.

As stated before I am no designer nor am I any good with photoshop I was just doing some mock ups for visual reference.
Anyone can feel free to design a logo/tee/anything. (please bear in mind, more colours = more expensive, for both embroidery and screen printing)
I simply run the machines that can make this happen.

I feel it is going to be hard to accommodate to everyones needs regarding colours/logo preference so after a little more interest is gathered and maybe one or two logo have been decided upon, I "MIGHT" contact mkawa or any other administrator and decide with them what to go for (and of course get their blessing), then front the money myself for a certain amount of units, say 50 or something and just sell them for COST + the $2 or so donation to GH rather than doing a full blown groupbuy and things getting VERY complicated and out of hand.

So basically, Just as an example..
"I have made 30x beanies in this colour/logo combination, $10 each, of which $2 goes to GH."
or
"I have 30x tees available in this colour/logo combinations, $15 each, of which $2 goes to GH" (I would print some in each size to accommodate for most people)

PLEASE BEAR IN MIND
I am not doing this to make any profit for myself, I am merely offering it to help raise funds for the website and mainly just use my job to get us some pretty cool merchandise for the hobby we all love at an affordable price.
Full transparency of garment costs and labour costs can and will be given if anyone wants to question this.
I can even do the embroidery work in my own after work hours to cut costs even more if you so wish, however turn around will be a lot longer..

If you think that is an awful idea, then pleas tell me :)

EDIT: The above examples aren't actual costs, just a rough idea. The more ordered, the cheaper it gets so keep that interest incoming.

P.S I do also like that design above ^^ However I feel it might be a bit much for some people who would not want to explain/tell their hobby to other people? That's why i went with "gh" on the beanies.

I for one am not ashamed of this hobby or being a total nerd, but some are :D

And again, please keep the interest and design ideas incoming.

Thaks

I really like that logo, also. I would want it embroidered on the left breast of a polo. 2XL (US sizing) please. :)

I like your idea of selling them for your costs plus the donation to GH. That's how I did my Geekhack badge sale.

Out of all the choices so far, a hoodie would excite me the most, and definitely pullover rather than zip in my opinion.
