All these 65% recently really do show the growth and change of the keyboard community, what people like and want are no longer just full size/60/tkl
With Originative involved does that mean Mod switches?
With Originative involved does that mean Mod switches?
The correct question is 'With Originative involved does that mean GMK Penumbra?' :P

The correct question is 'With Originative involved does that mean GMK Penumbra?' :P
stop that right now
one question. when?
one question. when?
Indeed! I hope this jumps to GB quickly
Someone from Originative Co has been answering questions on Reddit, and has provided the following info:
- They are planning to release details on the GMK set soon, and are currently working on some of the finer details of the set. It was implied that the included set will be just enough caps to cover the board.
- The switches that will be offered in the Premium kit will be Gaterons. It looks like MOD switches will also be available for an extra fee.
I will update this if I see more info. Someone asked if this will be a classic GB or raffle style, so I'll be keeping my eye on that question for an answer.

This was posted on the Keyclacker IG yesterday and it said 1 week away.
I'm just hoping it's not a raffle.
...PCB: $35 (pre-assembled with diodes/resistors, controller parts and RGB led)...
It mostly likely means the former. It looks like they plan on having a Polycarbonate/nylon base to support itQuote...PCB: $35 (pre-assembled with diodes/resistors, controller parts and RGB led)...
Does it mean that the PCB has underglow integrated already?
Or there is some LED like how the Zeal60 PCB implemented it?
Great design here, gents. Really like it.I am not sure if I'd made it clear enough in the thread. But yeah, you are getting a set of GMK caps with the premium bundles
What am I missing on the pricing...? For $70 more than 'basic' you get switches and GMK caps?? Amazing.
When will this happen? I want it now :)Now is unlikely. We have planning to launch the GB in about a week time. :D
So is the plate part of the top piece (so alu plate)? I'm so in ❤You are right Sir, the plate is mounted to the top ❤❤
Interesting idea, few questions,That's a lot of questions. The plate is made of aluminum, what do you mean by plate options? Yes, you will have enough keys to support the proposed layouts. And yes, the feet is made of steel. Standard kit comes with a feet that raises your board at 8 degree angle. While you can purchase the "taller" feet, to raise your board at 12 degree angle. I just obtained a 456gt recently, I must say I enjoy 12 degree angle very much. They are my friends, it's really hard for me for to explain here since there are too many of them. We are working together to bring a proper custom board to the community.
What will be plate material and options?
Where will it be shipped from?
I assume the GMK set will just be enough compatibility for this board?
It says steel feet in materials, but under extras is steel feet. Are those just larger feet?
What are the roles of each of the people helping you with this project?
this is amazing. You can have two. Let know if you need more than that... :X
is this going to be unit limited? i feel like i'd want more than one... :X

I hope these renders represent the base of the keyboard. https://rama.works/#/m67a/I think the renders are different just based off of how the EXENT text looks from the picture that was posted. The M65-A does have an aluminum base option btw if you don't care for the nylon with underglow.
I really don't understand the whole glowing keyboard fad, the smooth finish on the render is tasteful... the nylon cutting board texture of the M65-A isn't in my opinion.Show Image(http://dl.dropbox.com/s/js5osxtuu6zdzit/RAMA-161024-COMPRESSED-RAMA-AMOS-67-R02.510.jpg?dl=0)

there should be enough space to put a can of cola on the left n pizza on the right.
and good amount of place to grip when I want to bash in someone's skull
That's so cheap there has to be a downside... But i hope not ;-)

Holy FS, is there anything esle you wanna kills us with on this GB? Lets see, space man's keyboard - Check, GMK keyset available at purchase - Check. What's next BBV2?

Will the bottom polycarbonate block be that smaller rectangle? Matte translucent? Is that text on the bottom going to be engraved in the plastic or will there be a plate covering the plastic where the text will be engraved? Just trying to visualize what it will look like, since your sketches are not indicating what materials will be used where. Thank you.Polycarbonate is going to be matte translucent, not the nylon though. If budget allows, we will definitely go with polycarbonate.
I've always wanted to try split spacebar because I never press it with my left thumb, and having an extra key in close range seems quite beneficial. It looks like the split spacebar gap will be really close to where I press and could cause issues. Anyone have feedback that has tried a split spacebar?I started using split spacebar around two weeks ago when I got my tx75. I use my left thumb so I have the longer space on the left. It did take me one or two days to adjust( I had to shift my thumb placement a little bit to the left) but after that I've come to really like it. It's let me have backspace be more accessible, and having a thumb accessible fn button is useful as well.
I almost always hit it with my right thumb just to the left edge of the "N" key, but sometimes drift over to between the "B" and "N" key.

Those logo will be engraved into the plastic. Like .3mm depth of engraving.

Well the entire case design is different. No brass weight, and steel feet with an optional higher angle one. Also i'm not sure about this, but it looks like the plate is integrated into the top part of the case. Don't quote me on that though. It is similar, but definitely not a duplicate.
So we just teased Honeywell's true colors in the Honeywell thread. We haven't teased the colors for the EXENT board yet...Show Image(http://imgur.com/WM7HnZA.jpg)

Tease me harder Sherry! You should totally tease everything at once :)
for the past year, we have been working on a colorway called Carbon Black, inspired by Topre's Black on Black colorway.
Amos, Yuktsi, and I have been talking about it for awhile, and we decided, why not try to reverse the colors since it's double-shot?
What are you estimating U.S. shipping will cost for 1 kit? At least very roughly.

The estimated cost to East Coast is about $19 USPS and $21-22 for UPS. West Coast should be cheaper with an estimated cost of $15 USPS Priority and $19 UPS.

Couple quick questions Sherry if at all possible; any chance you'll be offering assembly for the premium kits? If so, how much do you estimate European shipping may cost you? Your shipping prices for sets on Originative tend to be very reasonable so here's hoping it isn't like half of the cost of the actual keyboard (as I've seen happen with a couple other boards recently).
Thank you!
We will offer Factory Assemble. We can show samples of how it works. We don't have an estimated cost yet. We're going to work with logistics in China/Taiwan/UK to distribute to Europe. The weight of the board should only be around 4 lbs with the added materials, so the shipping costs should be reasonable. We'll get more detailed information more throughout this week.

I really appreciate you clearing that up - regarding assembly, fantastic, saves me so much of a headache. Logistics being worked on with someone in the UK would be superb, Portuguese customs are relentless in every way, if that comes to be then this is going to be the absolute most stress-free keyboard (that isn't mass produced by a big company) purchase I've ever made which will be so, so very welcome.
Bro, if you are using your left thumb, you should keep the shorter shift to the left (2.25u 1.25u 2.75u). So that your thumb will land on the 1.25u. It's so nice to press on the key with no stabilisers. Especially for people like me, who isn't very good at tuning stabilisers. Well, that just my personal experience. :cool:I've always wanted to try split spacebar because I never press it with my left thumb, and having an extra key in close range seems quite beneficial. Doesn't this just duplicate M65 ? I know the shape is different, but really...Project m67 was initiated back in June 2017. I engaged RAMA in July to design 65% board for me. m65 comes only later. You could tell by the instagram post of RAMA, I believe m67 was first posted way earlier.

Question: I really wanna do the assembly myself but I'm a virgin when it comes to this thing. Will you include a tutorial or some kind of visual aid(lego instructions style)?
More like reverse Black on Black!
Are you in the Los Angeles area? I would definitely love to invite you to my place to pop your soldering cherry.
I've taken the liberty to post all available renders since most people don't have IG. Keep in mind some of these portray different revisions and most likely the final product will look different.
My only concern is regarding the thickness since it wasn't mentioned in the initial technical specs and one of these renders, due to the rounded edge, shows it to be quite svelte.

PS: That said I don't think they look alike at all except for the size (could be said for any 65-68 board), rounded edges and case material.

Skipped on the M65-A for this. There are plenty of customs with a portable form factor. This one sticks out because of the bezels, which make it seem like a more serious and permanent desk piece. Excited for the possibility of the new Originative switches being available with it. Hoping all the hype isn't a bad sign of major disappointment to come.
Have there been any clues as to what keycap set will be included in the premium bundle?

black and silver.

Rama designed this board as a commission for a private groupbuy at least a few months before he designed the M65-A for Jchan. Either way, what's the problem with more 65% boards out there?I am sure you can. They are just copying everything jchan did for the m65. Am I wrong? We know you like options.

Was looking at this before the 2017 release madness begun, Rama`s work is just awesome. both the M65-A an EXENT are beautiful, I went with JC`s board. Could not resist even do i have no experience with the winkeyless firmware..you would have me to teach you if you are going for the exent. too bad,
is the caps gonna be with legends? I am a euro :)
I haven't tried the winkeyless firmware yet, tried to look for a guide thread here on GH, anyone stumbled over a good one?
My only concern with these boards is i don't wanna enter the matrix just to remap keys and don't wanna sit forever figuring out how
to have my "Ć Ř Ĺ" assigned an not only as macros..
Any euros here that have setup the winkeyless firmware?

What are you trying to accomplish here? If you're angry that rama designed two board made of the same materials, maybe you should email him to complain instead of complaining about it here lol.

Pretty sure he's just showing the similarities to backup the assumption that an aluminum bottom will be an option for this drop, since it hasn't been explicitly stated one way or another by an official source.

I am as excited as many of you, unfortunately I will need to send it back before 730am for the last process. I promise I will take more photos on tomorrow night or Wednesday morning. I have never wanted to type on a lunch tray this much before. I've been in this hobby for so little time, and my wallet is going to be empty in 2017.
This is an amazing board. It's the first non ortholinear that I find interesting. Nice work. I can't wait to buy it.
I was hoping the GB would have gone live on Monday morning. Is it going live on Wednesday now?

Anyone know if there's a way to get a SA 2.75u spacebar? I saw that they sell 2.25 on their website. I know I can use a 2.75 shift but was hoping for a blank.
They sell a 2.75u spacebar too, but you're very limited in color selection http://pimpmykeyboard.com/sa-2-75-space-pack-of-4/. Blue, Gray, or White. Thanks, didn't see it somehow.

Wait...so many people complain gaming keyboards(not defending them just making a point) have huge bezels and stuff and are bulky but this thing's bezel is freaking HUGE...no wait it's fuarking GIGANTIC but gets so much support and now it is okay...what. Unless no one here has ever criticized gaming keyboards with huge bezels but I have seen plenty of that in posts and people here like small keyboards (HHKB, TKL,plancks, etc).

This board has support due to the unique aesthetic, the great price point and the people involved.
You will see a lot of conflicting opinions on forums as to what makes a nice looking keyboard, nice sized keyboard, etc. as that is highly is subjective. Try not to worry about it.

You picked the most extreme gawdy gaming keyboard :)) However, Logitech, Coolermaster, even Razer are nowhere near that and have smaller bezels that people have criticized. Again, I HATE mostly all gaming keyboard designs was just making a point.
I can see the other points of the simple designs of this keyboard people could like. Was just confused for the amount of extreme support whenever I see people criticizing big bezels. Yeah true but still found it odd.

As per the prototype pictures it is looking like it'll be about the size of a regular full sized keyboard (eg. VA108) - tons of people that dislike gamer brand keyboards do so for reasons other than their size (or as well as), personally 60-65% are my go to and the only boards I won (except a Novatouch which is a TKL) but the bezels on this don't bother me in the slightest. The layout's size will remain the same, the keys will be as easy to access and function with as they are on my WhiteFox for example, the bezels and the keyboard's size have zero impact on my typing experience, it's all aesthetic.
Comparing the design of this to the design of a K70 for example is just silly in my mind, it's like saying if you dislike the way a Hummer looks then you have to hate owning a Rolls Royce too - just because they're both boat sized doesn't mean one can't be refined whilst the other is overdone and awkward to drive. Bare in mind I'm not saying Hummers look ridiculous, I'm just saying they're completely different from Rollers in terms of design, function, target audience and pretty much everything else imaginable despite their size.
edit: typo.

The fact that this board is so divisive makes it all the more desirable in my eyes. If you want a straight up 60% or 65%, there are plenty of options that all look pretty much the same. Coming in here and hating on the project, and ending your post with, "but best of luck," doesn't make your point valid.
I'm most interested in this board because it doesn't try to come off as "portable" like so many boards in this category do. Its big and it isn't afraid to show it. This is what makes it unique and unlike any other custom in this category. I'm gonna set it on my desk knowing full well it isn't going anywhere anytime soon :thumb:

I am not really hating on the project more on the hypocritical aspect of some people of criticizing huge bezels than being super excited for something that has one. Not the project itself so calm down there. Why I said best of luck, because it isn't with the project it self just with the conflicting opinions I have been seeing(overall , or atleast what I have read aesthetics wise). I never thought that made a point valid.
Well it will be a very unique item that is for sure and people are super excited for it.
I'm having such a hard time deciding whether to go with Black or Space Gray. Might have to buy two :)).

You didn't address my earlier comments so I'll be assuming that means you agree with the points I made or don't have counter arguments. However your use of the word bezels is bothering me a little - what do you mean "criticizing huge bezels"? I understand people like smaller form keyboards over gigantic full sizes ones nowadays and the Razer Blackwidow for example has fairly sizeable bezels as do some of the older/dreadful corsair ones but the most popular ones nowadays (as far as I'm aware), the K70/90, Masterkeys Pro, Quick Fire XTi, Quick Fire Rapid, yada yada, none of those actually have large bezels, they're just big and in the case of the Corsairs/Roccat come with an included wrist rest.
That's different from having huge bezels, your analogies are so fragile that it is hard to agree/understand the point you're trying to convey.
*gets popcorn* I love fights on forums, so passionate!
Can we please stop saying the word bezel?

Black goes with everything! If there were rose gold I'd be tempted but it's just so easy and effortless to match any and all keysets (in my opinion) with black; some better some worse, but they all work in their own way.
*gets popcorn* I love fights on forums, so passionate!
Or you missed a 3rd assumption, at the time I did not have time to reply back to you :))
Well not trying to tempt you or anything, but unless something changes Rose Gold is listed as an option in the post haha.
But yeah, Black is definitely the safe option and looks nice. I really want Space Gray, but Black would probably look better with my favorite keyset (Nantucket Selectric). And it's not like I dislike Black, it's just the Space Gray is more unique and would probably look better with the GMK keyset included in the premium kit.

Was that M67-A ever made available for sale? I love the renders of it on Rama's page...
Large bezels can be beautiful when done tastefully, as Exent aptly proves.
Some bezel extremists won't settle until a bezel is as paper thin and "minimalist" as mechanically possible. But I am not one of them. There are many classic boards that got it right. Who wouldn't be proud to own one of these beasts?Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/umCZWJW.jpg)
OK, so giant bezels aren't really as necessary as they once were. But we can still capture a bit of that aesthetic in a new 65%. The results will speak for themselves. In RAMA we trust.

Don't worry mate. Will invoice you in awhile.Oh please, SA is the bestThis would look so classy paired with DSA Midas if it ever gets off the ground.
Oh no, you should get the gmk bundle with this board
because...
well... cherry profile is the best really ;)
SA looks prettiest, but I slightly prefer cherry for typing

I thought I saw this in the thread somewhere, but I can't seem to find it now. When/Where will these be orderable?
I really wish the bezel wasn't so large, but there are so many big names here that I feel like I need this board. So much hype. :p
I'm having such a hard time deciding whether to go with Black or Space Gray. Might have to buy two :)).
Black goes with everything! If there were rose gold I'd be tempted but it's just so easy and effortless to match any and all keysets (in my opinion) with black; some better some worse, but they all work in their own way.
Well not trying to tempt you or anything, but unless something changes Rose Gold is listed as an option in the post haha.
But yeah, Black is definitely the safe option and looks nice. I really want Space Gray, but Black would probably look better with my favorite keyset (Nantucket Selectric). And it's not like I dislike Black, it's just the Space Gray is more unique and would probably look better with the GMK keyset included in the premium kit.*gets popcorn* I love fights on forums, so passionate!Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/xgeVTXO.gif)
This is the image that got me excited about the Exent, but I didn't realize they were two different boards. When are we going to see the group buy for this one?
I'm having such a hard time deciding whether to go with Black or Space Gray. Might have to buy two :)).no worries, there is a keymap file for it and the instruction might be a little different
Question: since this is based on ps2avrGB firmware and Bootmapper GUI, what keymap would I use if I'm following this tutorial http://blog.winkeyless.kr/183 (http://blog.winkeyless.kr/183)? keymap_gb_B87(EX).hex? Or will the keyboard have it's own keymap and instructions?

Are those grays? Or do you mean you want grays on yours? Didn't enlarge the picture, looked like vintage blacks to me, I didn't even know grays existed! Looked it up on DT now and they definitely look interesting.

Oh hey twin! That's my current set-up with my RS78 as well. I wanted to do something different with this board but as each pic is posted, I can't help but to want to do it again. Tactile grays might be cool though, too.

Haha yea I'm so excited to get that set-up for the Exent, it's so striking. Grays seem a little bit too heavy for me (I'm a red/brown kinda guy, 60g~ Zeals at most) but they do look sick.
My first couple boards were reds and browns but they always seemed way too light for me. Tried out gat blacks which were a bit better but just way too inconsistent for me. Got some vint blacks and some 78g springs and fell in love.
Damn missed that last picture! Any chance that this board still release this week or has it been pushed into next week?

Ye gat blacks/yellows I'll do as well, I actually rather those over reds nowadays to be honest but they're a bit harder to come by seeing as I can't solder and only buy my boards assembled. A lot easier to just ask for browns or reds rather than those 2, sadly.
Actually i have both gateron blacks and mx blacks and im surprised by how much i prefer the gaterons over cherry. I've always been skeptical about knock-off brands but damn gateron did a great job. I actually have mx blacks lying around and planning to make them as close as possible to gateron blacks but i don't know which spring weight to get. I'm thinking 68g or 72g maybe ? Oh that's weird i thought gateron keyboards are more widely available nowadays compared to cherry.

Tactile grays..
And what a strange coincidence, I was just looking around for a keyboard with those to finally try them out.
Should I go all in?
I mean, it's like a sign or something.
Go for it. I'm between those or maybe silent blacks if I can find some by the time this is ready.

I REALLY wanna try silents but I doubt they'll be readily available for the assembled kits oco will be offering - especially with some big case goodness I bet they'll feel and sound heavenly.

Forgive my ignorance of 65% boards but if I wanted the long right shift on this board, I assume the two switches in that position would fill the left and right stems where the stabilisers would normally go? I feel like the answer has to be yes, but i thought I'd make sure.

The new Penumbra profile is 1-2-3-3-4-4 not 1-2-3-3-4-3.
Oddly enough, your pictures convinced me away from buying an Exent. I think I'd want a thicker case to complement SA caps, and the bezels really bring out how thin the case is.

It does support long right shift, just instead 1 switch would be soldered and a stabilizer installed.

I don't think you are required to have that on your board. If you get the solid bottom rather than the underglow one then it should just all be uniform.

Where do they stated that?
for the past year, we have been working on a colorway called Carbon Black, inspired by Topre's Black on Black colorway.
Amos, Yuktsi, and I have been talking about it for awhile, and we decided, why not try to reverse the colors since it's double-shot?

If Pwner thinks there is a point that they are missing, then that is just his opinion as well.
Top three comments are "That bezel kills it for me, sorry." "Can it replace my desk?" "why this thing so ****ing big". Sounds like he has some grounds for saying Traveler isn't missing much by checking the comments.

Saying the bezel kills it for me doesn't mean that person is missing the point. It just means they don't like the aesthetics. It says nothing about their awareness of others interest, the motivation behind production, or the fact that it fills a hole in the market. Telling people to go F themselves because they don't find a polarizing design pleasing is an infinitely worse response. Thanks professor
Saying the bezel kills it for me doesn't mean that person is missing the point.
Nice pinky rests
why
You could fit at TKL keyboard in that space if not more. The whole point of using a smaller keyboard is the ergonomics of it, but this defeats the purpose.
No, the maker of this keyboard seems to misunderstand the purpose of small keyboards.
Why even make it 65% when it's the size of a TKL board?
That completely defeats the purpose of a 60% keyboard.
Saying the bezel kills it for me doesn't mean that person is missing the point.
I agree with that. However the "missing the point" was not directed at those replies.

I know you don't think the same as me, but they are right.
60% is there because it uses less space. If you have a "big" keyboard with "missing" keys, there is some space that has zero functionality. It is only for the looks but other then that, it can not be used very good.
For me personally, the bezel is just a bit to big, but I understand the idea. If someone is interested in a compact layout, this board is just the wrong choice.

Same for me, more or less. In fact r/mk is still my general source of discovering new sets and group buys, and I just come here for better updates, info, and a more civilized community lol. You just have to know how to take Reddit. They often aren't always the bunch, but unless you're on a toxic subreddit or stumble upon a bad post it's usually not too bad. r/mk sometimes suffers from a sense of elitism, similar to the PCMR community.
And I agree: if they don't like the board, it's ok. Their loss. I have a feeling this is going to be a board that a lot of people are going to regret not picking up. But I don't plan on being one of those people

So it's been a while since we had any update on when this might be dropping... the pics were great, thank you for those. But any indication of the options and when we can expect the GB to launch? Last I remember reading was sometime last week! ❤
I'm just torn between this board and the RS2+ on MassDrop right now. My plan is to wait for Exent GB until the last day of the drop. If the GB doesn't open in time I'll do the other one.Take the rs2+ so this becomes more exclusive
Can any one of you fine folk convince me one way or the other?

I don't want to come off as rude or anything, but if you need to be convinced to buy into this board you are probably buying it for the wrong reasons and may just end up selling it eventually anyway.
The board is definitely love or hate, personally I love the design. I would never try and convince anyone to buy something at this price. Make a choice for yourself. You'll be much happier with the outcome.
I am from assuming from what I've seen this boards build quality and finishing will be much, much better and well thought out as long as the bezel doesn't bother you like it does for some.
ghostjuggernaut is right, but checkout manofinterest's video review of the last RedScarf78 on Massdrop. It was really informative.

Ultimately I've decided to go with the Exent, unless something goes terribly wrong. And I guess if something does go wrong it'll be too judging by the lack of info that we currently have on this GB haha.
Wait is Exent going to be a Group Buy? Or will it just go on sale somewhere?
Group buy; won't be in a marketplace AFAIK (although any leftovers might end up on one). Fortunately not raffle style though last I heard. But details have already changed without notice about the group buy (like the drop date), so anything could happen.

Lol, what are you on about? What lack of info or details changing without notice are you experiencing? This is an IC, the entire point is that some things are still undecided. This is the latest update (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=86815.msg2342952#msg2342952) from juahenza. This is how community-run GBs work. :))
In their defense, there was a timeline set for the period of last week... And during that period, it was said "soon". I'm not trying to bash anyone, just stating that there was a timeline defined at one point, and Traveler isn't 'on' about anything.

Right… and in the meantime, another update has been provided and pictures of the completed prototype have been posted. Everything's clearly progressing, just not as quickly as the GB leaders originally expected. It seems pretty disingenuous to claim that there's been a lack of information and that details are changing out from under our feet, when the only detail that's changed has been when it will start, lol.
It's a tough call, and one I pondered over for a few hours once I saw that Massdrop released. It's arguably my favorite Red Scarf. A 65% form factor and plenty of macro keys if you find yourself missing something vital. And a Zealios switch option I would definitely go for (I like my lighter actuation, so the 65g offered would suite me).

The biggest reason I'm choosing Exent is because of how unique and potentially exclusive/rare it will be. There will always be boards at least relatively similar to the Red Scarf II+ Ver.b. And this is the second time I know of that it's ran, so it might come around again later. But that is not guaranteed with the Exent. We have no idea if we'll ever get another chance to buy it (and I'm guessing we won't; that it'll just be one run).
My other main reason is that the quality of the Exent is going to be superb. Probably worlds better than the Red Scarf II+ Ver.b.
Good luck with your decision man. That's just my conclusion after finding myself in your same situation.
TBH, none of us really love the design until we hold it in hand (true story). Especially for a big Kustom fan like me.
Guys, I am posting the GB thread now

I have a RS68 and I have none of the problems that he has with the 78. There might be a bug difference between the models. My Rs68 is amazing to type on.I'm just torn between this board and the RS2+ on MassDrop right now. My plan is to wait for Exent GB until the last day of the drop. If the GB doesn't open in time I'll do the other one.
Can any one of you fine folk convince me one way or the other?
ghostjuggernaut is right, but checkout manofinterest's video review of the last RedScarf78 on Massdrop. It was really informative.
Good lord, the typing portions of that video are borderline unbearable.
