Not stressed in the slightest.  Whenever I get a day off I don't even think about work the next day until that day comes around.

Being back. Wonderful to see all the new **** happening as usual, lots to catch up to. I've got a ton of projects that i'm getting to work on too.

Was hard having motivation with work and what not. I took some vacation just for hobby purposes lol.

How has this whole gh/md merge gone? Is everything still the same old?

Not too much has changed from what I can see. Some people were against Massdrop/the corporate takeover, like Norbauer and they split off from the site. Good to see you around though!

I came here to say I'm taking a halfday and enjoying the start of the hurricane Florence swell :D

It was worth it! Current models show Florence staying way off the coast and landing in the Carolinas/VA which means it should be a very good week indeed:D

I have a hard time staying current on everything going on by just watching GH forums lately.  I get the most updated stuff from instagram, keebtalk, topclack discord and reddit.  Most of it eventually shows up here, but it seems slower to arrive than it used to.  That's the biggest change I see.

What makes me happy? The fact that at any given time there are a billion new IC and GBs going on.  Long live the mechanical keyboard community.

I enjoy geekhack especially because of its inherent content filter.

If the news is important enough, I'll hear about it on Gekhak..

We're like a fringe colony planet.

The big news streams are terribly polluted and curated to serve the Agenda machine, the political opium for the unthinking addicted masses.

Gekha is where TRUTH is rendered, vortexed, and Distilled..

There is a huge oak tree in King's park in Malmo. It doesn't make me happy, but I like it.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

The quality and selection at the new Whole Foods that just opened down the street makes me happy. I feel like a shill saying so, but the level of ingredients you can get there are so far above anything Safeway has to offer it's not even a fair comparison.
In another life I was a sous chef, and my head chef's philosophy at the time was always top-quality ingredients prepared masterfully but simply, which became my favorite way to cook as well. Later I found when you go with lesser ingredients it becomes more of a dance between balancing and layering other flavors to attempt to create something more complex or interesting, which inevitably covers up the main ingredient featured in the dish. But when preparing a meal with good fresh ingredients the goal is to attempt to preserve, and if possible even enhance that aspect of the dish.

Man, i love Whole Foods.  I know I'm paying a lot to shop there, but the selection is phenomenal.  I'm more than happy to pay extra for a better experience in that case.

Part of me kind of relates to the Marines that would eat any of my father's meals without a fuss (70s-80s)--and the other part of me knows the difference because I was partially raised by a galley guru.

Mashed potatoes with a knob of butter, salt and enough full cream milk to make it nice and creamy.  No low fat milk ****!
Sometimes even with a bit of garlic.
