Anyone have any thoughts on the Carbon Fiber vs Aluminum plate?

I haven't decided yet but I'm leaning towards linear switches and didn't know if there would be much difference in feel or sound.

I think carbon fibre sounds a bit lower pitched compared to aluminium and might feel abit 'softer' when you type

I prefer carbon fiber for my linear switches.  I like the sound and feel better.  I have a brutal60 wtih creams on carbon fiber and a few skeleton carbon fiber boards wtih cherry blacks.  I like them a lot.

I have heard from others that the carbon fiber plate in the r1 is one of the best around. I opted for both of my boards with carbon fiber.

Hi Graystudio! Got my order in early and already thinking about a good keycap set to go with the board when it arrives. 8008 on alexotos build looks great.

If I look closely at the PCB (which is a v1 in the build stream) it looks like every switch has the option to add a LED to is. Is this correct? Will the new PCB has the same option?
And if so, can the LED be toggled on / off?

I could not find an answer anywhere to this question.. I'm sorry if someone already stated this.

I put Mill Max sockets 7305 in my R1 PCB, works fine. Except with Zeal switches, the legs are too wide.

Hello, at this time my plan is to use PVD Black Brass for the L-shaped badge all across (the black PVD shows to be reliable for the Think6.5 GB). What Alex received was a prototype the brass has not been PVD coated yet.

The Black and Gold still have the golden L-shaped ?
It was a big part of my choise for this one....
