I see the vault keys as... I don't know, almost like trophies, to be honest. Just as special as the other designs, like the bombs, the Brotherhood helmet, the Nuka-Cola, etc... Cotta catch 'em all, right!
I don't know off the top of my head just how many vaults have been featured across all the games, but several have been prominent, and I'd love to see them all featured eventually. Each Vault key is representative of a place in the Fallout universe. The unique novelty icons are the fun ones, the cool keys to have... But the Vault keys... They speak to the Fallout story!
For me, I'd rather give up a color set than give up any of the unique symbols depicted on the actual keys, vaults included!
I'd also rather pay full price if the choice were everything vs giving up a symbol, if that were a limiting factor. I'll have to think about the survey.
As for DSA... I literally have nothing in DSA, so it's so hard for me to invest in anything DSA. That's compounded by the fact that I only have general need for three keyboards... My Danger Zone key set to go with my Kerbal Space Program instrument panel (and is the keyboard that gets the Fallout themed keys), my Apple //c based wireless keyboard, which I hope to build someday, and the typewriter key caps I got for my 1939 Philco radio cabinet PC case... I'm not one to change up my keyboards. I get something, and then stick with it for a decade and a half, fix it, replace it, cry when it's gone, and build an epic custom keyboard, realizing I never knew how good it could be.
I would DEFINITELY use DSA on the wireless keyboard, if I were doing it from scratch, but I'm not. I have a sweet Alps Amber keyboard out of an Apple //c, and I'm dead set on using those AMAZING Alps switches. If Danger Zone ever re-released in DSA... Eh... I might actually consider buying into DSA, but unless that ever happens no can do. Gotta stick with the SA R3 set!
As for this set of keys in SA R3... Like I said, I'm 120% in!
**EDIT** LOL, I didn't finish refining this before you replied! No problem... I just meant that
if Data ever did such a thing, i'd probably be on board, but as you said, I don't actually expect it (not in this decade, for certain). I do love SA, and am fine with my keyboard as it is. It's the distinct lack of anything DSA in my collection that makes me reluctant to invest in DSA novelties, preferring the SA Row 3 that I already am invested in. I just never knew how darned smexy those DSAs could be!
