Poker II sideprint custom set
« on: Tue, 08 July 2014, 09:36:11 »
Hello.

I am looking for a keycap set for the Poker II which doesn't have completly bright colors like those at qtan eBay store (no offence, but those sets are too bright)

I would be looking for a black based set with some font colors (more choices is nicer) that still has the poker II side prints for the FN layer if possible. PBT is the word obviously, and if possible that this horrible font could be some other one would be a plus as well.

As long as the set is dark (like dark blue or dark red) i'd be fine but black is best imo.

I think i could live without the sideprint but i don't know what set to get with my Poker II. I consider the stock keycap set is an horrible crappy designed set of caps as it feels kinda cheap for PBT and the font is the most horrible one. The whole tradeoff is that the board is well built and programmable, so i kinda did skip the aesthetics when i purchased the board, but now that i have some spare mesos, i'd buy a nice set to complete the baby.

Thanks for your input. I'll take anything, links, images, keycap sets name. Thanks!

Most MX sets fit the Poker II as it has an standard ANSI layout. You may try the classifieds for some options. Also you would like to take a look at the GBs that are now taking orders. However none of them features the side printing. If you can live without it, there are plenty of options for you to considers. PBT with sublimated legends, ABS double shots, and so on.

Other options are the techkeys, sp, and other vendors sites that carry some nice full sets.

I've check pretty much all the major sites like sp and such and the classifieds here and on Deskthority. Couldn't find anything real nice so i guess i asked here instead.

Yea, side printed legend is just so cool but so out of standards :/

This guy is selling a TaiHao white on black set that fits the Poker for a few bucks. Meanwhile you find something nicer you may take this one.

Yeah i asked the guy for the sets might be a deal.

But it's still not made for Poker II. I mean the board sold pretty well imo, one of the most common mech not branded "gaming" now a day as far as i see.

They could provide some nicer sets because the caps are a deal breaker really.

Excuse me? ANY standard ANSI set will fit the Poker II. Not to mention that the stock Poker II caps are really nice except for the printing method (properly thick PBT, including spacebar).

You just missed these 2 Group Buys, unfortunately, but someone may be willing to transfer their set:

Won't find better quality than those sets, IMHO.

Looks like originative is taking preorders for Dolch sets, too: http://www.originativeco.com/collections/keysets/products/dolch

And if you like orange on black: http://www.originativeco.com/collections/keysets/products/ski-data
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

I know, what i meant is that it doesn't have side prints like those from qtan ebay store. I know the basic set is well made PBT but it looks like a ****ing cancerous potato. :/

Those sets are nice especially the Dolch one but man, 110$ is more expensive than the board itself... :/ I mean can't a good keycap set be arround 40$ or something? I don't need a full set, only the keys that fits the Poker II.

Charred orange is nice but doesn't fit the layout, spacebar too large and missing modifiers.

But thanks for your time tough, i appreciate rly.

Well, if you are not interested neither in low cost, nor high quality sets, unless they have side printed legends for the Poker you may be left with few, if any options for a caps set. Mainly if your budget is $40 dollars for a set. If you find something let us know, it may be one of the best great findings ever around here. Good luck.

Well i would go up to 70$ if the set is real nice, cause instead of buying a third board, i would go for a nice set. I'm changing my switches, the whole order sum up close to 60$ already excluding shipping... :/ and i'm a sorry-broke-ass-poor student...

But those at Qtan are real nice (same KBC PBT, side print legend, different colors) but the colors are super lame. I mean i won't get an ugly pale pink or baby blue set, i want it to look somewhat professional, like a good old Beige and dark beige or a Dolch-like set.

Also if they could change the ****ing font, man that's horrible as crap. Center-square font is horrible, why can't they take any other basic ones...

Am i asking for too much :'(

The charred orange set WILL fit. It comes with both types of bottom row caps, 110 caps in total.

Yeah ok, i have to agree this set is gorgeous.

I contacted Originative to see if they can modify the set, because i would get it if there wouldn't be those scooped F and J keys (which looks retarded and must feel bad?) and if they could make the step in the stepped capslock not offset.

I also asked for a FN and PN key just to make it really poker official. screw side printing, that'll be enough.

If they do these things i think i am done with looking for keycap sets. I'll have a fully custom, gorgeous looking programmable 60% board with MX clear.

Bought the board 110$

adds 100$ keyset

adds 60$ different switches
