Just a may be stupid question. On the layouts it states on both options, Winkeyless and HHKB, that the spacebar is 7u... Why not 6.25? In HHKB makes even more sense, isn't it?
HHKB uses 6u. 7u just makes it look nice and symmetrical.

PCB support for the real layout just isn't there especially with all the universal 60 PCBs.

Symmetry isn't a good thing in my opinion tho. Love the unsymmetrical look of a real hhkb and things to be unsymmetrical in general.

Resist the symmetry.

The FaceW and Nerd60 both support 6.00u spacebars. A plate with the real HHKB layout would be awesome.

Hey!

The orders are now open.

I made the decision to cut out the switches of this group buy due to multiple reasons, I am very sorry for those that intended to buy these from me. Luckily they are available elsewhere.

Let me know immediately if there are any problems with the order form.

I will update with stats and such later.

Thanks for your patience, if we want this GB to go through, I need as many orders as possible. The MOQ for the PCBs are 120.

I was going to buy some gaterons :(
Where is an "elsewhere" inside the EU (if any)?

Mechsupply and Caps-unlocked should have a few gateron packs left. If not, you could try aliexpress or use a taobao proxy

Do I understand that correctly, these are the possible layouts for the plates? (click for KLE)

I wasn't sure about the split backspace.

Split Backspace is supported. You can see it in the picture, upper left corner.

Actually, I asked for something in the EU lol
Jokes aside, the problem is that GBP prices are too high... I mean, gaterons from mechsupply and caps-unlocked cost ~0.40 (if not 0.50) € per switch. The ~0.27€/switch by LeandreN (if I recall correctly) would have been just perfect (also, the price of shipping is lower with this GB).

Get it from widebasketshop on Ebay or search for switches on Aliexpress

Edit: if you're just looking for a small amount of switches (enough to fill a 60%), I've got some spares lying around, can sell them to you if you want. What types and how many are you looking for? I've got some Gateron green, blue and browns

https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/410nur/photos_6u_spacebar_on_60_custom_endgame_complete/

Good to know.
Soldered a Nerd60 recently and have another one from LeandreN's last GH lying around but never noticed apperantly.

If you compare to an actual hhkb it would still look different.
On the real one it seems like it's slightly shifted to the right to make it look more balanced?!

I think it still wouldn't look right tbh.
1.0,1.5,7.0,1.5,1.0 is still the best bet so guess :D

The keys align to the same thing as the real HHKB if you remove the outer keys on a Realforce/MX board. It would be just like the HHKB with the same aligned comfortable bottom row the real HHKB has.

For example starting from homerow move both your left&right pinky directly down to hit the 1u Alt keys they are perfectly aligned under them on the real 6.00u HHKB setup. Do the same with your ring finger and they perfectly align to hit 1.5u keys on the real HHKB.  If you try that with a 7u spacebar the left pinky will hit the 1u key and the right will hit the right 1.5u key, your right ring finger would hit the spacebar also. IMO 6u spacebar HHKB is the best as it matches the real thing.

Thanks for todays orders, and thanks for the questions and concerns.

Due to demand, I might add switches as an option later, if i manage to find a good and fast way to manage them, but nothing can be confirmed as of now.

Keep the orders and questions coming!

If you need something right now, you can buy it here:

I'm in. Looking forward to the new build. Hopefully the MOQ will be reached.
I would've been interested in Gateron switches, too. Sad to hear that hey didn`t make it into the groupbuy.

The HHKB plates are : covered covered 1.5u- 1u - 1.5u - 7u - 1u - 1.5u - covered 1.5u

Did you mean 1u - 1.5u - 7u - 1.5u - 1u

?

Already did that. Still, customs increase prices too much, I'm in the worst part of eu from that point of view :(
Anyway, thanks very much for your offer! I was going to buy some blacks. I think I'll stick to cheery switches (that at least are shipped from germany).

I'm sorry for the off topic, I was just curious to know if there was another european alternative for gaterons.

Are the steel plates thicker and less malleable? The aluminum plate for my S60-X was bendy and I'd like something a bit more solid feeling.

Was GON being flaky at the time?  I just wanted to ask the question to see if there was any mitigation for that occurrence.

GON's delays are limited to custom services such as soldering resistors or LEDs. PCBs for Round 4 were simply tested by GON after production, before being shipped to LeandreN.

I thought resistors were pre-soldered ?
I'm fairly certain they are not. But wait for further confirmation.

In the last GB the NerD60 PCB's included also resistors. Here is a photo with the PCB's  https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=79315.msg2152702#msg2152702 .
I have an orange PCB and it had everything soldered, diodes and resistors.

Yes, diodes AND resistors are presoldered. I will make that clearer in the OP. Thanks.

Hey!

We definetily need some more orders to get these PCBs to go through MOQ.

Keep spreading the word about the group buy!

I am talking to some vendors that might help.

Mint is the most popular colour.

Thanks!

Is there any difference typing on a Carbon Fiber plate compared to an Aluminium one? It looks sick, but I don't know if the 2x price is really worth it.

Is the MOQ on the PCB a per-colour MOQ, or based on total number of PCBs in both colours? I ordered a white PCB, but would happily switch it to mint if it helps reach the MOQ.

We need 50/50 25/75 or similar, so that's not really an issue.

Thanks for the offer though, we might need it.

The moq is based on the total
