If a numpad and tsangan kit are offered it would be a bonus. I'm definitely in for this, the graphite and orange or the purple and white mockup from the other thread as doubleshots. You are probably going to need someone with a SP color ring to help you select the correct colors.
What a slightly darker orange, like the Hack Orange CCs?
I am DEFINITELY interested in a set of these. I love me some orange. Please keep it a lighter shade (like a yellowish orange), not too fond of DEEP dark orange.

I think I would prefer the charcoal and orange. There seems to be a lot of white around as it is.

That orange is my vote. Looks slightly different in person, but fairly accurate representation. I'm sure you're all familiar with WASD colors though.

There is also interest for a charcoal/orange colour scheme.
The proposed layout is the standard ANSI 86 key layout, but of course if there's enough interest an addon number pad kit and tsangan kit are also a possibility.

I think we are at the cusp of having cherry legends complete soon. May want to take our time on this one until we can do it right. I think everyone has enough WYSE font key sets, time to start collecting with cherry font.

Any change the Windows keycaps could also be available blank or something for we non-Windows users? I am using mostly Linux and Mac, so the Windows icon in particular is annoying.
I typically just replace them with blank keycaps, but color-matching modifiers will be hard.

Re: Cherry replica legends, I wouldn't count on being able to use them before the end of the year. The latest round of prototypes (which should arrive tomorrow) look really good from what I've seen so far. So the remaining work to do is to tweak the remaining legends so they match the prototypes and get them all cut. This will probably happen in one or two big batches and will require us to collect from the adoption drive. Then we'll have an entire 104-key prototype set made and make any last adjustments to the SVGs based on how they all look together. At some point during this finalizing process we'll start the Dolch group buy.
So yeah, there's still a bit of time left before they are "finished".

With doubleshots you can't just change the font unfortunately. Each legend has it's own mold, and it costs $45 a pop for new molds. For the time being we are pretty much stuck with SP's default font as seen on the recent RA and CCnG sets.

In if the colour of the text in the orange keys are grey and not white!all agree with you and i like SP Double shot more than Qwerkey. I have Qwerkey keycap, it's not beautiful and it's engrave ABS keycap.

Also we need inversed mods not the white on orange...icky. the orange could stand to be darker if we can get it close to HACK ORANGE color that'd be cool. The greys should be about the same as the Graphite set IMHO.

Interesting color matching, the legend on the modifiers: capslock, shift and BS without lettering are quite brilliant too.
Quite interested in getting one set, if it reaches 150 sets price range(it be lower than 49.70), might get 2 sets.

Normally the characters positioned at the upper left,
any chances of positioning it the legends in the middle? with some thicker font...
Obviously the mock up isn't final, but what about the tilde and vertical bar/backslash key? I'm personally a fan of having those match the letter keys.

It's more of a black, but gets the idea started at least.

With that folks, inverted "G","H", and mods are out of the question for this group buy. I understand your discontent, but something like that probably won't happen in this GB. Having the Alpha keys orange on white with the mods charcoal on orange doesn't seem appealing to me, and to have the entire set strictly orange on white would be making an entirely new set. With Jil's, only the mod base colour was changed. The legends on both the alpha and mods stayed the same colours.
That's not to say that I won't consider doing a GB in the future for orange and white, it just won't happen this time around.Hey guys!

Not really. I just shipped a set of keys to rayuki who's from Australia and by air it was 10$ for a small parcel box.

I've got nothing against Canada, it's a brilliant place to live and work. But I've always had not good experiences with buying anything big/large and trying to have it shipped to my place here in 'Crap-town', Australia. :p
As someone who is already in, I completely agree with the desire to stay generic to avoid endless design requests and make the keycaps arrive sooner.
And it seems the modifier keys are not yet decided (correct me if I am mistaken), and at least some of the potential buyers won't be using Windows.
So in the context of tossing something out there that might be sort of muti-lateral (ecumenical?), I mocked up a set of modifiers that would work for Linux, Mac and Windows users.
Without any religious intent, i used the Linux convention of calling the "Corporate Logo Key" the Super key. "Geek" and "Hack" or anything else would be a-ok as well.

lol people want so many different things im starting to forget what the original idea was.People just want to post what what they are interested in. Otherwise you get things added late to the group buy which happened several times in the valentines set.
This set... is basically exactly what i want to see, except with like... a very dark, hot-pink/magenta. Like the darkest, most saturated "(hot)pink," before it becomes red.
the dark grey is awesome. The orange is "kinda okay."
Would love to see this set done in different versions, w/ the same grey, but a different secondary color (instead of orange; not that there's anything "wrong" with orange).
Like... "lime" green, "hot" (dark) pink, "indigo" (on the more purple side)... maybe even a "teal" or "cyan" version.
Maybe make a set of black modifiers, w/ matching legend colors, to barely-contrast the dark grey.

Different colours won't happen this time around. A future GB is definitely a possibility, but this one is strictly Orange and Charcoal.
The idea of darker mods are an awesome idea though as was suggested a couple posts above and will be looked into. If each order had a set included with them, I'm totally sure that the total price on everything wouldn't be horrible.

Just a side note of little importance, when I suggested modifiers I meant for them to be the same as the base set, possibly with a "~`" to backspace grey on orange number row to get the cool looking layout where the number row divides the F row from the other side of the keyboard. Similar to how the Sanctuary set will have an extra red number row. Although the darker grey does look cool in the mock up, but I don't think an orange number row would match that. Don't want it to get too complicated.
edit: also don't forget to put extra spacebars into the group buy portion. That one is a must in my opinion.

You evil doers......it definitely looks nice. But I personally think we need more Orange in the mix. Having it close to 98% Greys, well makes it nearly all monotone and I don't think DarkShot wanted it to be that way. But who knows.........?

Not much feeling on the white legend, but the position and size of the font is looking great on the Alphabet keys.

Just ignore the font and extra keys, the look I'm talking about would be charcoal instead of white, and the red number row and arrow keys would be orange. I don't want you to think I'm attacking you or the group buy. I'm just posting what I am interested in because it is what people have purchased before in other group buys.

A lot of these clarity issues would be eliminated if anyone could make mock ups, we need the vector files in the wiki since a picture says 1000 words or something like that :p
The Geek and Hack super mods are a great idea for this set. I also really love the inverted orange on darker charcoal/gray mods.

Heh, no. I mean the first Cherry replica set will be a standard Dolch set. This orangey Dolch mock-up looks really good and should be done as a Cherry replica set after the standard Dolch replica group buy is over.

After thinking about it, the proposed idea of extra spacebars is a good one, however I won't be contacting SP for pricing or anything else until I at least get the colour samples.
While playing around with colours came up with this. Blue looks rather nice, and both Orange and Blue contrast eachother wonderfully.

Please don't turn this into orange dolch replica set people. We are 3-4 months from cherry font which will be doing that most likely. Why would you want this half assed with WYSE then done again in cherry font? Be patient and let darkshot make the original orange on charcoal set with orange mods and charcoal mods to cater to both flashy and plain people.
Crazy how one orange and dark charcoal mock up derailed the interest check so much.
Can someone explain the difference between Cherry and WYSE fonts? Is Cherry just bolder? And is WYSE the font used in previous sets like Red Alert 2.0 and the Ragnorock set?

Everything worked out fine in the RA2.0 set. Everyone purchased what they wanted so if you didn't want a Tsangan for $27 because it didn't hit the next price break you paid for a $27 tsangan. I guess the only people it would inconvenience is people that don't want a full orange on charcoal set and only want it with orange modifiers.

Since the default kit will have charcoal on orange insert, home, and PgUp keys I think it would be a cool addon, and unique to this set to offer a "!1" through "+=" charcoal on orange kit. Adding a base alpha set of charcoal on orange would also achieve the same goal, but then people are essentially buying two full keyboard sets when just another 12 keys is considerably easier/cheaper. However maybe enough want a full kit of charcoal on orange, or maybe that should be saved for another group buy. Please just get a quote for the 12 key addon and let the buyers decide.

More options isn't going to raise the price on anything.
That was a very confusing survey. I have to ask though pertaining to "Keep it cheap! Fewer options, more buying power!" If we have 2 options or 10 options how would we have any less buying power with 10 options?
Maybe 60% of the people can buy 2 options, 25% can buy say 4 options, and 15% can buy 10 options. Who would only having 2 options benefit? You would still have 100% of the people buying the 2 main options (most likely) and then 40% of the people still wanting to buy more even if it isn't at "the best price". More options isn't going to raise the price on anything.
If you have 10 add on kits instead of 1 you will have 10 buyers of each instead of 100 buyers of one. Rough example but you get the idea.
We went over and over this topic in the CCnG thread, IIRC. The counter-argument to the above is still that more options fracture the market. Say I prefer option B to option A. So if both are available I buy B and not A. But if B was not available, I would buy A and be happy with it. Having B available reduces the orders for A, and both end up in low tiers relative to where A would be without B.
