Milestone Palm Rest
« on: Sun, 30 December 2012, 18:07:33 »
They looked awesome. Seems to be discontinued. Anybody know where I could order one?

I would also love suggestions for a good alternative.

Keyboard Story (Sherryton and Hazelhuff) offers the Milestone wrest, though I would go with Beast's over KS any day of the week.

Looks really nice, but I can't find pricing but I'm assuming it's expensive and out of my budget. I'd need something black-brown to match my desk.

Doesn't look like they do, unfortunately :(

Maybe they used to.

Send me a PM with the size you want (poker, TKL, fullsize) and what wood you want and I can send you back a quote. If it's a domestic wood, I don't think my prices are bad (I haven't heard any complaints). Exotic woods however tend to cost a bit more.

I think the Milestone rests were ~$60, which is more than I charge for most rests

The base price for the milestone was 50, shipping not included, I personally really like acrylic over wood since the oils from my hands doesn't affect wristrest, I had a wooden wristrest prior to this one, and the finish on the wood started to wear off slightly after a week of use.

Wasn't it an EB rest?

I'm pretty sure he was using a waterborne finish, which I'm not too fond of for something that has a lot of hand contact. I haven't  had any complaints about finish problems

Yea, it was. I'm not entirely sure how well various finishes hold up to repeated contact, but the discoloration bugged the hell out of me especially for something that was pretty expensive.

The finish I use was recommend by someone who has been doing wookworking three times longer than I've been alive.

I've talked to EB, the finish he uses is quite expensive, but it's not what I would use personally. I wonder if he's had any other complaints about it?

I've been looking around for one too.

Here's a clear one for the HHKB.

But they don't come in TenKeyLess size.  I emailed GeekStuf4u to see if they could get bigger ones.  They can't, at least from that company.

Those palmrest looks really good! But I haven't been using any since the beginning. Perhaps I'll try out the cheap one, see if I like it before purchasing one.
