Title: [WTB] PCB design & prototyping service
Post by: Riba on Wed, 25 November 2020, 05:07:06
Hello all,

I am looking for someone who can design and (ideally) provide a limited number of working physical PCBs. All leads I found or had led nowhere, hopefully it will be different this time around. :-/

The layout is nothing fancy, 65% ortholinear, there are no deadlines (within reasonable time frame of course :))

Thanks!

possibly... Boardwalk PCB (https://mkultra.click/products/boardwalk-pcb)?
tons of layout options https://imgur.com/a/wGKjWd9

Exactly, I need a Boardwalk but with one extra column. (65%, Boardwalk is 60%).

what layout are you intending to use? on boardwalk you can get up to 70keys. you want dedicated home, end, pgup/dn? (just throw them on a layer)?

XD75 (https://kprepublic.com/collections/xd75/products/xd75re-xd75am-xd75-xiudi-60-custom-keyboard-pcb) then? 5x15

the whole percentage thing falls apart when you're talking about ortho boards. when talking about ortho, it's easier to refer to the grid... 5x15 = 5 rows, 15 columns. or split orthos are usually only indicated as one half the full grid. split 5x6s = 5x12 grid

Apologies, I understand the confusion. It needs to fit a 65% case, so there are 16 1U columns. Here is the layout.

at that point. you're probably better off getting a plate cut in this layout and handwiring.
it's not terribly difficult, and there's a lot less to mess up then fabbing a pcb.

i'm currently playing around with an ergo layout in KLE that doesn't exist yet either.

there's also the BFO-9000 (https://keeb.io/products/bfo-9000-keyboard-customizable-full-size-split-ortholinear) from keeb.io if you wanted to go split.

Yes, already have a plate and I might go the handwiring route until (if ever) I get the PCB done. I actually started doing it myself but at the moment time is more precious commodity than money, and at this rate it will be completed a little after never. Never thought it would be this hard to find someone to tackle this project.

most of the guys i know that do pcb work have a huge backlog of projects/commissions.

if you need a hand with the handwire let me know, i can help with firmware & such. just finished helping another forum member do their 1st handwire.

good luck on the hunt.

I have looked for this size also. It would allow a full numpad and +-*/= keys.

The XD 75 could work without the math keys, but I have not read good reviews about its fit into existing 60% cases.

I want to learn PCB design, but not there yet...
