Sometimes freak things happen. I saw a similar dent happen to an X60, and there was a small hole, maybe the size of a pen being pushed through.

No real idea how it happened, but it was the only one out of 98 that got damaged during shipping so super strange (and your packaging is much better than mine lol).

Definitely something is something with three units already dented out of 30 plus units delivered.

Will look into that.

I don’t think there are more extras based on his previous posts. At least if there isn’t another run to make replacements.

I too would love to get a 910, but for the sake of all people who already order CE and have been waiting I really hope it won’t be needed.

If you are looking for extras, I would recommend losing all hope. Didn't there used to be a rule about commenting on GB's you're not in?

There are no rules regarding this atm, however there is a rule regarding thread-crapping, so if you are looking for extras (idk if they even exist) talk to yuktsi to avoid excessive posting  :)

aight, I'm not here to threadcrap or solicit a sale on extras
I'll keep my nose out of here if that is what I'm supposed to do

no need for hostility
I'm not going to solicit extras, that's pretty underhanded and sleazy
I just remember reading something about it in this thread and made a half assed post about it

I'm not trying to be hostile. Anytime someone mentions extras or someone jokingly says something about something being available, threads fill up with people asking for extras or wanting to buy someone's board if they want to sell. It's not really a beneficial topic to people who are in this GB (which is why this thread exists). Especially since there seems to be some issues going on, seems best to leave posting for people to get their issues sorted, yuktsi to provide updates, and for people to show off their pimpin builds.

There will always be another "dream keyboard". . . we all know that too well and it hurts right in the wallet.

My post wasn't directed at anyone, it was made to clear up the statement Mr_BeastQuake made, and give guidelines for those in the future looking for extras. No harm done!

Let's get back to the GB discussion  :)

there's a rule about threadcrapping, i.e. posting uselessly in GB threads, but nothing about asking for extras or asking questions

although it's not like rules really get enforced that often on GH

Thank you Capt. The keyset looks amazing, is it GMK?

Btw, there will be no extra for sale. If you are keen for one, you may dm me. I have prototype coming from time to time, and if it's good, I may sell.

Shipping will resume tmr. Got some extra foam and bigger boxes. As for the delayed units, I should be collecting them this week. Thanks.

I looked over the box more today pushed a few places and noticed this is the only damaged part of it. Was barely visible till I pushed the cardboard a bit.

Yup, this is exactly what I've seen with the X60. No matter the packaging, it seems unavoidable, and just based on luck.

You're not the only one. I had a similar incident like yours but much worse.
Delivery boy handed it to me with the parcel already opened and there is no way to close it without tape :

Bought a keyboard case with some kits(this was a bundle together with the case) from a nice vendor in GH. After confirming with the vendor how it was packed, mine was hijacked, product originally was nicely kept in stretch wrap with thick foam around it in a box and kept inside the postal parcel box but somehow product box was gone/stolen away from the parcel box and was replaced with thick bubble wrapper, re-stash it back into the parcel box then a blade slashes through that thick bubble wrapper and right into the case.

According to the tracking, it stated the parcel only goes through 1 custom facility and successfully went through without any problems.

So just to share this incident, I believe there are even worst things could happen during transit even the case is fully protected by foams or bubble wraps. Or maybe it went to the wrong custom agent hands to inspect them. Has anyone have this type of incident during transit? Or I'm just unlucky?  :(    :'(

EDIT : Made some changes in the post for better understanding.

This thread is starting to make me realise that the Lightsaver v3 packaging wasn't as insane as I initially thought. The negligence on display by these postal workers (seemingly the world over) is kind of astounding.

I looked over the box more today pushed a few places and noticed this is the only damaged part of it. Was barely visible till I pushed the cardboard a bit.
Such a tiny hole causing such damage.

That's not the way to pack a board imo.

i've seen things like this happen with a few boards, they use a pretty big knife to open the package and sometimes **** just gets ****ed up

and i think he said somewhere that they repacked it after opening it

Not sure how mine went through until like that, but I know customs for sure will open it with knife if the goods were heavily wrapped with bubble wraps for inspection because no one has the time to unwrap it so they just cut through without hesitation. There are like 2 possibilities being hijacked. Either the whole thing inside the parcel was repacked during transit or the customs in my country repacked it in another department because maybe they think the box is sexy enough to be stolen and cut through to reinspect it. But still... it doesn't make any sense on the 2nd one to repack and reinspect again.

Are you talking about this GB or sometime in the past? If it's this GB that's mental. Is that three 910s now with holes poked through the boxes?

A bit of googling gives a bunch of darkweb chat about postal workers probing for drugs. Maybe that's it?

That makes too much sense. Stab the package, sniff to check. If it drugs, you sell it and no one will file a complaint.

I'm guessing they're all from the same shipment? If they've all been stabbed in the same place i wonder if it's happened right at the start of the chain, very soon after Yuktsi has dropped them off, before they've started being split up for their various destinations. Probably while they're still stacked together. I bet it's just one person testing a few of them to see if there's anything worth nicking. Maybe someone at the post office or a van driver.

Got to be, it's the only time they're not with Yuktsi and all together. Sucks ass.
