What's on YOUR keyboard trays?
« on: Sat, 24 December 2016, 12:44:30 »
There's something magical about those vintage kb trays before the trends toward space-saving and material reduction took them away. Beyond practical labeling, the trays are amazing at storing your geeky go-to gadgets.

Used to have mine loaded up with old intel processors (the ceramic ones, like 386, 486 and early pentium [cant deny that these look ****ing awesome]) a few pencils and a key puller. cant do that with what Im using right now, but when I get my mf ssk, I can use my beloved tray again.

Trying to balance a pencil on the top row of function (if available) or number keys on one of those skinny, new-fangled keyboards just doesn't work. That shelf has got to be solid!

I had a little Kelloggs plastic Bagheera (from Disney's The Jungle Book) above my Raptor K1's LED-Area for some years. I recently removed it when I cleaned my desk. :)

smarmar: I couldn't help noticing the surreal nature of parts of your keyboards. Has Salvador Dali been around your desk? Or maybe you're just a bit too close to the heater?

HA, I wish! No...no surrealist art-genius has been frequenting my work areas. I used my phone's panoramic feature so I could get a nice wide-angle of the desks with no perspective distortion albeit unsteady-hand-wave-distortions.

The usual.

I feel like the photo is staged,  look how clean the mouse is..

No one with a clean mouse would let the keyboard get that bad.

No, they're probably balls of foil saved from smoking crack/ heroin from.

Some addicts keep them around as trophies/badges of completion.

You know they do make apparatuses for storing pens, scissors, sharpies, and paper clips.  They simply sit on your desk and are supposed to be an organizer.

I call that my glass Pac-Man organizer, because, well....I keep my pens, scissors, sharpies, and box cutters in a Pac-Man glass beside my kb.
But it's not the same as the tray!
