where are you guys getting stabs from?

Ivan has a gb for stabs right now. I think it would probably arrive before this GB ships.

I also ordered an extra set from GON's website when I got my NerD TKL.
He does?

Where?

http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=60789.msg1406270#msg1406270

So we'd need a:

7x plate mount space bar stab
(2) 2x plat mount stab for the left shift and the enter key?
First off these are pcb mounted stabs you need.  And the stabilizers you need depends on what layout you want.  But you will need a spacebar, left shift, enter, and potential backspace+right shift depending on what layout you prefer.

I mean for a viper in hhkb layout

The OP says that a plate is included

Does the 1.75x right shift need a stab? I assume the backspace is 1.5x or something on a hhkb layout

If you go for a layout that follows exactly like a HHKB you'll have the bottom layout in this picture. The bottom layout only requires 2 2x stabs and 1 7x stab

1.75x keys do not need a stab (caps lock, hhkb right shift). I think stabs are only for keys 2x and up.

I haven't updated the spreadsheet yet or anything for that matter..

I just received the weight of each unit. I'll start invoicing maybe tomorrow or Tuesday.  I'll update the spreadsheet tomorrow night as well.

Viper
Housing : 1206g
PCB : 84g
Plate : 139g
Accessories : 4g

Eagle
Housing : 1128g
PCB : 89g
Plate : 143g
Accessories : 4g

Packaging is 0.69 kg

Oh and there won't be any ALPs plate available.

They haven't tested ALPs on the PCBs and I don't think they are planning on doing it as well.

Using ALPs requires a plate so...

The biggest weight is the packaging. That weight accounts only for the box.  With bubble wraps and all, it weighs a little over .8 kg, but I guess they aren't going to add that to the total packaging weight..

Either way each set w/ packaging will weigh a little over 2 kg, so you'd have to look at the 2.5 kg shipping rate.

If you want to make your own ALPs plate, I have the file for it.  Let me know if you want it.

Sigh. Thanks elton. If they haven't tested functionality then I really don't want to spring for the board only to find out something is wrong with the PCB. Guess I'm not getting one of these after all.

I feel your pain.  If there was a PCB only option I'd take the risk and worst case have an MX board, but Elton says there will be no PCB only option :(

Okay, I asked TrueCustom if he could get a smaller box for single unit orders to reduce the weight under 2 kg for cheaper shipping and he has done it today.  I'll start organizing everything tonight for invoice over the next few days.

If you order 1 unit, we will use .56 kg packaging weight and 2 units and more will be .69 kg.

There are 40 vipers and 31 eagles available immediately.  They just need to produce PCBs, plates, and anodizing the cases.

The rest will have to wait 2 months for the next round..

I would imagine the 31 they had available would be just for elton's GB and they would order the pcb/plates for those regardless.  Only thing left would be to pick the color for annodizing.  And even if no one ordered the last 4 I would assume they would just annodize them anyway and sell them as leftovers.

Though there is also a fairly high chance that elton hasn't been updated the spreadsheet and there are already others ahead of you for the remaining 4 eagles.

Right?

So, after invoicing, will we just be waiting on the cases being anodized before they'll be ready to ship?

+1 I would also like to know. I suspect it's shining onto the red PCB and the camera exposure enhances the effect.

I got a very similar effect with mine: I'm using blank cherry POM, which is very opaque. The light bounces off the nice stainless steel plate and gets that effect. I suspect it's just the fact that none of it can shine through the thick cherry keycaps he has on there.

shouldn't be that hard, especially when Duck use SS plate, which is support backlit lighting better than alu one.

What kind of keycaps is that? I have thick IMSTO PBT, and the back lighting on my NerD TKL can shine through the keycaps...
