At what point should we be concerned for him?

He's been offline since his last post over 3 weeks ago. He could be stranded under a 500 lb crate of PBT keycaps.

He will report in when everything is good to go. Hopefully the sets weren't delayed by customs. Ivan doesn't screw around will give us the information when sets are in hand

This is assuming he is fully recovered from his injury, which is why I am worried. I hope everything is okay healthwise.

In the last active, 14 Sep 2015, he said that "Sets are in transit to me. I expect to begin shipping next week". But nothing updated from that time.

It's not so much a worry of being scammed, or of disrespect to Ivan, his track record has more than eliminated that concern. It's more of a 'he posted that he was injured and then hasn't been seen for three weeks' worry for his health and a general curiosity of what's happening, since even if the sets got stuck in customs, they should probably have been out by now, assuming it doesn't take multiple weeks to ship across the Pacific.

I'm just assuming that, much like the joke on the previous page, Ivan may have been swamped recently and has received the package, and may be sorting or otherwise dealing with it and has simply forgotten to update us, or figured he'd just wait until the sets were ready to ship before updating the thread.

You think this is a joke?!  Ivan's zen-like state took years of group buys to acquire.   ^-^

I worry because he said he may ship in next week, after that he not online since that time to now, before that he crashed bmx.
If everythings is nomal, he should not offline (invisible) for long time (about 1 month) in case of deadline expired.

Yes, i see. But more better if he update the status if he can not. I just wonder if it has anything happen with him after crashing only. I dont afraid anything about him except the health only

I know that Ivan is alive.  I don't know anything beyond that, but he at least seems to be okay.  This isn't much info, but I wanted to share it since we haven't heard from him in so long.  Hopefully he is able to get online soon.  :)

i'll be soldering up my keyboard for these caps soon, and have a few questions i just wanted to double check

This set comes with the option for a short right shift and winkeyless compatible right?

And the stepped caps lock, is its switch centered or off centered?

Thanks

Each set also contains stepped caps lock, 1.5u Control and Alt pairs, 1u Windows and menu key, and 7u spacebar, not shown.

I would assume the stem for the stepped caps is off-center as it's significantly more common.
I'm not sure about the 1.75 shift though, Ivan or others in the know will have to confirm.

Couldn't you just leave the caps lock switch for last if you're in doubt?
But I would imagine that it would be off-centred as I have seen very few stepped ones that are not.

And his post here https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=66550.msg1721427#msg1721427   I would say there will be a short right shift included.

As for the stepped Capslock.  I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be off centered.

I think we got confirmation on off center stepped and 1.75 shift back on pg 11 or so.

I have another ( this is my home board, and another RS3 at work )
Love the  layout. I thought end game keyboards were laughable until i used this layout.
Now all i need to do is find someone selling a pair of lightsavers.

Hey Jixr,
Sorry for the hi-jack, but how do you like your red scarf? Like you, I have been madly pining after a lightsaver. A few months ago when the IC went up for new LS I was so happy, and then so sad when it didn't pan out. I've been eyeing up a RS now instead. How does yours hold up? I've heard mixed things about build quality. Where did you source yours from?

Its decent for what it is. Its no lightsaver, but its not bad. The layout is amazing to me, but yeah the quality is kinda decent at best. The case is lightweight, which i dont really like ( i'd love to toss my pcb in a lightsaver case ) The pcb is super thin and requires a plate otherwise its flex in the case is insane ( i have one plated, one non plated, the non plated i had to stuff material under the pcb to help support it which negates the under lighting ) The underlighting is neat though. The soldering is kinda poor, i've had a few parts pop off and had to repair.
I'm really considering looking into a way to mod mine to add a bit of heft.

Its not a lightsaver, but probably the best alternative you can find unless you are willing to shell out $400+ for a used lightsaver. Until hopefully another GB returns.

I got mine from Ivan from a GB that ended in the spring.

I'm going to shoot imsto a message to see if he can tell wether or not our caps got picked up by customs or if they went straight through. Regardless on the answer people Ivan has multiple GBs running totaling multiple thousands on the line. He has always come through in the past even over a year later in some cases !!! He has stated he was in a bad accident a little over a month ago I personally am not worried at all about WETHER we will get them or not. My only problem is the keyboard geek in my wants my cherry profile due subbed swag like yesterday but what's new right  :))
Ivan will post when he's feeling better I mean he has a broken arm he probably can't even lift a box of caps right now

+1

Ivan is as legit as they come. It might take a while longer due to unforeseen circumstances but I have absolute faith they will arrive and all of this will be forgotten shortly afterward.
