Just got one of these in the mail today from Jetpens. I think I've found the perfect mechanical pencil.  ;D

http://www.jetpens.com/Pentel-Sharp-Kerry-Mechanical-Pencil-0.7-mm-Blue-Body/pd/2088

thats a pencil?

Yep, look at the other pictures from the link. It's actually quite ingenious. The cap has a button built in so that you can click and extend the lead with the cap posted. It's all metal, so has a bit of heft, and the tip/lead guide has zero slop so there's no play at all in the lead when writing. Loving it so far.

What a great topic, ;) I'm surprised there are so pens I don't even know they exist.
I don't have any pictures of my gear, but it's mainly Parker Edition 45, fountain pen, pen and pencil.
I used to have a rare and old Waterman when I was young, the kind of fountain pen your grand-parents offers you, but stolen at school.

I agree somewhat. I wrote about it awhile ago here. Now that I've used it for awhile, I'm not sure I like the cap for everyday office use. Seems like a hassle uncapping and recapping it all the time, and I don't want to leave it uncapped because that kinda defeats the whole design purpose.

so i got this in today from jetpens

http://www.jetpens.com/Uni-ball-Shift-Pipe-Lock-Drafting-Pencil-Color-Body-Series-0.5-mm-Red-Body-with-Smoke-Accent/pd/3611

rather disappointed how cheap the top half of the body feels. makes it feel really uneven compared to the bottom half since it's metal.

This thread has made me itch for some new pens and pencils, anyone here know a decent European online store for them? JetPens seems nice, but the free shipping deal is US only and international shipping is quite pricey.

Rotring Isograph ,40mm. Awesome pen, terrible photograph.

I buy stuff from The Writing Desk and Penbox, don't know if they will have what you're looking for but their shipping costs have never been too bad.

finally got my phx pen from big idesign.

comes with two back plugs. one with a screw top so you can screw on the cap and one with out.

so far, pen feels great. nice and heavy. my problem is with the screw back plug.. when unscrewing the cap, it also unscrews the back plug.. which i need to readjust every time. which is annoying and a really big oversight on big idea's part.

other than, awesome pen. uses:
•Pilot Hi-Tec-C & G-Tec-C refills (All tip sizes & refill colors)
•Uniball Signo DX Refills (UM-151)

as refills.

sorry for the crappy pic. i suck at taking pictures + it's raining and cloudy outside + i recently dropped my phone AGAIN.

Also the limited editions are a special colour and they usually only get one bottle of ink per limited edition pen so finding them can be pretty hard.

Yes really, enough to find out a bottle of that ink is on eBay and about 6 hours away from me.

Oh and that a beautiful John Lennon fountain pen is $1k!

Here is a little review that I found: http://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/index.php?/topic/236413-mb-einstein-ink/

Doesn't sound too promising...although I do like dark grey. And the box itself is sweet.

Looked like a shoe polisher at first glance.

I have an old mont blanc pen from the 80s but the ink is all dried up inside and haven't gotten around to clean it up. Anyone got some insight on fixing it?

Anybody have this pen and care to share their thoughts on it?

It has an amazing list of compatible refills, but I will most likely be using the Pilot Hi-Tec-C Cavalier with it.

I'm wondering if the black anodized finish will really "last a lifetime." I hope it's not comparable to the black iPhone 5's out now.

I saw a note on facebook about the new Einstein pens and ink. Took a tour by the only real pen store I know about around here. They had a pile of the ink bottles on top of their montblanc cupboard. I was there primarily to buy some montblanc refills for my new pen http://www.bigidesign.com/welcome/solid-titanium-pen/ The guy there told me they had gotten the only Einstein fountain pen for Sweden, but that one had found its way out of there pretty quickly... They had one of the ballpoints still though. I bought two bottles of ink with my other refills. The montblanc felt tips refills are awesome =D

Can you get the piston working? I would try working through some warm water, it might take ages and I am by no means an expert!

I'm starting a new job where I won't be losing my pen every week or so. So I took out my fountain pens from storage, thought it'd be great to start using them more. Found that they had all been emptied before stowing them away. Or so I thought... I dipped one of them into warm water just to clean it out properly, but the ink wouldn't start fading... Turns out it had just dried up. When I sucked the water up it was back to full again, and working just fine. One other pen was not so lucky though. I think I had used some kind of tusche(?) in it, and there was a lot of solids that wouldn't be dissolved again. I ended up breaking the feed in the tip, and there was a lot of gunk in there. I don't know if I would ever had been able to get that out =P Only half-expensive pen, but lesson learned.

Equally some vodka or surgical spirits might ease it, do not use acetone.

I'm not sure if the piston is working, its practically black from the dried ink and cant really see what is going on inside. I'll try and see if water fixes the pistol first.

Finally fixed my pen! Initially was quite worried because the dried ink was blocking up the pen and warm water wasn't doing much for it. I just used the reservoir to pump force the blockage out and POOF! bits of dried ink just came shooting out. Then I spent a good hour or two cleaning the pen out. Now writes like a charm :D
