I've ordered a number of stuff from Amazon, this Thermalright PA 120 SE arrived yesterday, gotta love Amazon next day delivery!
Show Image

The Leven JS600 4TB SATA SSD has also arrived, at least, that's what my friend has told me, I've told him to expect more stuff going his way:
Gigabyte X570S Aorus Elite AX
2x 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3600C16
1TB NVMe M.2 NGFF SSD (for NGFF enclosure I'd ordered by mistake)

that's a cool box

Brand new rice maker today baybee! Huge upgrade over the $20 Rival I've been using for about a decade.

Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy, hopefully tp4 approved  :thumb:

Cooking up my first batch right now. The coolest thing was when I took it out of the package it had a greeting on the led saying HELLO and the correct time already set, before it was even plugged in. Japan really is light years ahead of us.

Got the card! Not literally as I'm still in Canada, but was picked up by me friend early this morning (Thursday afternoon where he's at)
Show Image

The beast being held by a member of staff of the shop I'd ordered the card from, it's a big card, betcha it'd be relatively small next to the RTX 4080/4090 with their monstrous coolers. I didn't realize that the MERC 310 share a similar cooling method with the Nitro+ Vapor-X, it has a vapor chamber too....

this is 1080ti vs 4080 so it's quite massive yes

I love Elzy

Thank you guys!
Yep, this is the best camera I ever had in my life. Second full frame, first one was A7II, then I saved some money and bought this one.
Used of course, would never afford a new one, but it was great deal, only 100 actuations and about 70% price of a new one. I wanted it for its size and weight.
When it comes to lens, I love Voigtlanders for same thing - compactness - tried 4 different ones, but this is first so small and light.
Still getting used to manual focus, but I like it cause it makes me to work more on every frame, a lot more thinking and preparing, bigger satisfaction from results, if you know what I mean.

So my GAS moved from keyboards to lens now :D

Holy cow, only 100 shots taken?? Incredible deal.

I know what you mean about manual focus. It's really nice for the intentionality and preparation, as you said. I've almost always used vintage manual lenses, only recently getting an auto focus for faster moving subjects that really need some help to focus or I'd miss the moment.

Hope you still hang on to a few keyboards so you can keep sharing amazing keyboard photos with us!

Looking for advice about replacing a missing Ctrl key on this Northgate Omnikey 102.  I have some Matias switches on order.  I think I can replace the broken slider shown here with a slider from a Matias switch.

298995-0

The rest of the switches feel pretty good.  So far I've cleaned off most of the dirt and beverage residue.  There are still some rust spots left on the plate, but I don't think it's worth going after them with any chemical rust treatment products.

For the missing Ctrl key I'm thinking about ordering an Alps 1.25 blank from Tai-Hao: https://shop.tai-hao.com/products/abs125u

You can buy Game Boys second hand, or the Pocket is the modern alternative if you want to use cartridges still on a new machine. There are new games coming out for the GB platform, yeah! Quite a few, actually. Between re-releases of classics from companies like Limited Run and some modern shops like Bitmap Soft and Incube8 (and some others I can't remember right now), there's a lot. Well, maybe not a lot, but more than you probably thought. :D

Niiiiice!! Very cool. I forget where we talked about it, but phinix and I were talking about the Amiga a while back. I haven't used the actual hardware before but the MiniMig core on the MiSTer is super fun.

Did you grow up with it, or exploring an old system for fun?

You can also as get a gba as well if you want to play gba games as well, cause the system is backwards compatible with gb games. And the screen is backlit so you can actually see the games in the dark lol.

Still have my small collection of retro games back when I used to be obsessed with them as a kid (don't really collect them much because of price and not wanting a lot of stuff lying around, still have some cool stuff like a complete in box copy of pokemon heartgold with the pokewalker which is cool) including my gba sp. Not the 101 version with the better backlight but still awesome to me.

probably will always keep this and pokemon emerald.

I think so, yeah. They never really left in the metal scene (easy format to release your own stuff on), but seem to be coming back bit by bit in the indie/alternative world. Maybe someday soon we'll see a re-release of the Walkman or an Instax-style remake.

Recently a streamer/youtuber that I really like made a video about their cassette player which the player was really cool. Also the first time I heard anything about cassette in years (and before that it was about it being an outdated music device). I think physical media from the past is down to get a resurgence eventually, kinda like vinyl did. Actually was thinking of getting a cassette player and all my favourite albums (If I can) cause I mainly listen to music portable anyway and idk I feel it would be cool.

I'll link the video because I thought it was very interesting.

The other day I decided that I hate having money and so I ordered a brand new HHKB Pro Hybrid Type-S directly from PFU.

ive had a pro classic and a pro 2 type-s before and i wanted to get the endgame, new in box. its amazing and ive been putting out essays for school like crazy with this thing lol. It's been over a year since ive had a brand new topre board and i forgot how amazing and smooth the stock experience is... im planning on keeping this one stock, with the exception of OEM parts and maybe lubing the stabilizers. i ordered the anti-vibration mat from amazon.jp already and i really want this to just be OEM heaven lol
someone needs to make an aussie keyboard community called QMƎɹ┴⅄. get it? haha :D

Crazy how big and affordable SSDs continue to get. I very much look forward to the day that I could conceivably swap SSDs into my home server, haha :D

This arrived a little while ago, finally cracked it open and plugged it in. No surprise, battery is dead - will need to take a crack at replacing it soon.

Ha, wow. Totally forgot about that.

Had a 2nd gen one my then-gf gifted me with personal engraving. Used it solely at the gym. One day it went missing from my gym bag. Some day I'll find it.

Yeah, same here, I decided to move my movies collection from USB HDDs to this drive.
Prices went down, but I wish they were still baout 40% lower, so we all could forget about antient spin drives for good.
My first SSD I bought was OCZ Vertex 32GB, in 2009 I think, paid for it £230 as far as I remember. Now, for 8000GB I paid £280.
