That orange ubuntu and that black arch key both look really nice. :)
I had a sig once but it's gone. It used to display an icon of a Kinesis. Just imagine that.

Oh man. What we ought to have is a Larry the Cow cap. Maybe purple key with white foreground? I'll try to draw something up when I get home from work this evening. In the meantime... Larry!

I've seen them but didn't order. I have to say I didn't really like how they came out in the end. They look a bit messy. And the required spacing killed them a bit.

round 4 doubleshots will have tux keys. And gnome keys.

And glider keys btw \o/

But I'm definitively in for some keys if it ever will happen.

BTW, I had a nice idea for a keycap which I'll probably do as a GB soon :P.

It would be nice to have some ADM-3A style H,J,K, and L keys with arrows on them to go with the Vim escape keys.

I do agree.

But a lot of people run non-standart layouts on here.

Or have a different profile/color scheme they don't want to mess up.

So it's hard to get a common design interesting a lot of people.

You're not the first one thinking of it :P.

As I said, I don't rock standart SP profile on my alpha part of the keyboard (for now), I don't type in qwerty, and I like my keyboard all blank black.

So I'm probably not interested at all.

I rock archlinux, and would defo get an arch key if it gets to happen.

And if it doesn't, I'll just make the GB one day.

BTW, is anybody good with graphics? :P.

I think you'd lose all the detail of the archlinux logo if it was a DS key. All the sharp little angles would go away making it just a big blue A

Just some suggestions off the top of my head...
  • Emacs logo -- May be too complex for a DS
  • GNU logo -- Also may be to complex
  • Glider (hacker emblem) -- I know its being done in in round 4
  • Gnome foot -- Is this still in round 4?
  • Open Source logo
  • Red Hat, SUSE, etc.

Check it out:

I'd be down for some in PBT Dyesub.

Also, Dyesub is the answer to all these keycaps. Tricolour ubuntu logo? Dyesub. Good-looking linux mint logo? Dyesub. It's really the  answer to everything.

Maybe this is a bit of a stretch in a Linux specific thread, but as the Raspberry Pi currently only runs Linux, some Raspberry Pi keys to replace the Windows keys would be cool.

As for the control-brace key, that green was just random. Maybe some other color will look better. I'll think about that.

A quick google of common distro logos. I am not at home and have no access to anything to make mock-ups. Gentoo has simple versions of the logo. Redhat would be nice with 3 colours. Does anyone know why the spoiler tag doesn't work?

Thanks:)

So we have ubuntu, gentoo, arch, (suse?). I'd say we should stop with distros now, or we'll end up with ton of different keys, which will be crazy expensive.
As for the group buy, how many different keys and how many of each type should we have to make this happen?
Maybe we can split the tooling costs evenly among participants to reward those who order more, because if everyone takes just their distro and nothing more, none of this will happen because of costs...
I don't know, just thinking loud;)

to have a decent price, we need 50 keycaps per logo if we go the doubleshot  route, and less if we go infil or dyesub.
