I mean, you can pre-load it now, but it activates at midnight or whenever.
Based off where you buy it / region the key is from, i guess that's when it actually activates?

Almost certain Steam does a server ping on every initial game launch, so even with an AU key you would still have to wait until midnight.

Well, midnight AU time. Youd be able to connect to an AU VPN every time you wanna launch the game and then you're all set. But at that point, id rather wait the few hours more to be able to just play and not deal with any funny business.
At this point best to wait. But you could have been playing hours ago :)
Please no spoilers in here. I plan on getting it around Christmas time since I don't even want the temptation of it sitting there while I am supposed to be doing the family thing.

I'm gonna be posting screenshots and discussions, but for the sake of folks like you we should agree to use Spoiler Alerts and not post shots of anything too plot-pivotal.
I hope you all know how to use spoiler alerts on GH :)

I'm excited for Fallout 4 but I forgot to pre-download back home and my internet speed is too slow at college.
I grabbed a pre-order on Green Man Gaming and I can't figure out how to pre-download or pre-load or whatever the hell it's called :(.

Slow at college????
If your computer is on and steam is open, you can install the steam app on your phone and log in.
Once logged in you can remotely initiate the download/install.

Did they give you a steam key to activate it on steam, then pre-install(I think it's called lol) from Steam.
I need to download it on my laptop with 10 mb/s download, I have 140 mb/s download back home.
Any thoughts on how much weight you guys are gonna lose on the Fallout 4 diet?

Opposite for me. I have 10 Mbps (on a good day) at home and 550 Mbps at school.
I'm just gonna go home and transfer over the downloaded files to my desktop so i dont have to wait a billion hours.
Wow lucky you, I actually never tested my schools internet since I live in an apartment but I could possibly do that. Thanks :thumb:

The normal wifi is something like 40 Mbps on average. I'm a computer networking major and so I can plug my laptop in via ethernet and we're on an unrestricted network so full speed ahead!! :thumb:
I have a feeling I did this all wrong
Preordered Pip Boy edition, so gotta go pick that up after work
Then I have to download a **** ton. I know games have been "doing this" for some time but does it really help piracy? It just annoys me...
grr.
That said, my coworker was conveniently "sick" (much to my chagrin) but at least he did the VPN thing and I got to watch him stream the game. Pretty awesome, especially for me a newb to the Fallout series. I'm excited. :D
Also, should I get a xbox one controller? Or just stick it with keypad and mouse/trackball?

Awesome, I'm going for Computer Engineering and up at Penn State they supposedly specialize in networking. I'm just a freshman so I'm just in basic engineering classes like physics, calculus, and chem.
Back to the Fallout hype! I'm really excited for this game but I still don't think I will be able to play it right away, I have a good bit of exams coming up and I can never seem to find the time to play A single game.

Yea I'm in the same boat, I really want to play tonight :(
I'd say most people on PC play with a mouse and keyboard. If you're more comfortable playing shooters with a controller though, it's not a bad idea. It's kinda a more casual experience, which isn't a bad thing imo.

Very cool. Much more schooling then i'll ever be able to accomplish haha.
I get ya. I know i'll be just as limited with school and the fact that my girlfriend will want to watch/play as well so we'll have to agree on a time to play it, which probably wouldnt be that often.

Nice! My ex-room mate used to lose pounds at a time from binge playing for like 12+ hours at a time when a new game would come out. I would leave for work and come back 10 hours later to find he hadn't moved other than to go to the bathroom and get another beer.I have a feeling I did this all wrong

I personally use the controller for games that allow it. Feels like a more relaxed experience to me and it's what I am used to from growing up using consoles until about 5 years ago.
I was thinking of picking up an xbox elite controller, until I realized it's win10 only :( They're really trying to push win10, and it's starting to irritate me.

Casual, relaxed, I think we both mean the same thing :D
I grew up on consoles too, but I've transitioned to mouse and keyboard over the past few years for most games.

I did a quicksave right as the 1st Deathclaw was charging me and I'm 150lbs overweight and my minigun was already empty. There is literally nothing I can do to escape the situation and have to do the entire museum part over again >:(rekt!!! I'm headed to work but I'll be playing most of the day... I get posted at the offices today lol. Just sitting at desk for the next 12 hours :p

It will definitely be Win7/8 compatible, not sure where you heard that.

It finished transferring and updating last night once I got home but I was so tired I just went to bed. Now I need to finish doing a switch swap for a friend on his BlackWidow (which is the worst experience I've had btw) before I can even think about playing
My preorder is ready for pickup! woooo
But did anyone get Nuka Cola Quantum at Target yet? I hope my store still has some after I get off work today :-\
For those who still haven't started, here's a list of all the spoken in-game names. Name your character any of these and some NPCs will call you by name... Princess Titties ****face.

I forgot I upgraded my video card earlier this year. Running Fallout 4 on ultra in glorious 60 FPS. Never had a new game to play at the highest setting before. I have two happy.
I've got a Dell Ultrasharp 24" and a Radeon R9 200. Playing 60 FPS at 1920x1080. Feels great :D

Ooh very nice, what resolution are you playing on? I got my laptop hooked up to a 1440p monitor at college. I'm pretty sure laptop will be able to handle it since it has SLI Geforce 965M and i7-5700HQ.

That should be fine, I am running it at ultra, 90fps on 1440p with a 970
Still have zero patience for the scraping and building stuff. I HATE crafting games, so all the crafting mechanics in this seem a bit daunting.
Also, si anyone else getting this weird UI issue where the screen makes a window inside the main screen when you talk to people or are in power armor? Is it supposed to cut off like 1/8 of the left and bottom of the screen like that, because it looks like a bug but I honestly am not sure.
My crossfired 290s (both overclocked and underwater) struggle to get a consistent 60fps at 1440p on ultra settings. Might have to turn some stuff down *tears*
So tempted to buy a pair of 980 Tis

That seems weird. Shouldn't they run better than my 970?
Was anyone lucky enough to snag a PB edition and wanna post pics??
Been using the Pip Boy app, got to say it's pretty awesome but completely superfluous. Having it on your arm would be sooooo cool though

I didn't enjoy previous Fallouts but I am glad I am getting into this one.

I'm kind of new to Fallout - what's the deal with power armor? Do most people wear it all the time or smth?

I only use my power armor when I'm having difficult beating somebody or some boss, I don't like how in this Fallout it requires a power source but it does make sense. I've been using the resources to expand my settlement and weapons for the most part.

I've seen a lot of people saying that power armor actually "feels" like power armor in this game. The power source needed for it, how the damage is taken and repaired, not having to equip it in place of other gear, and the whole modding aspect all seems like they did a good job with it.
You can look up the locations of the armor. I believe many of them are just sitting around and don't require quests to obtain them. ( could be wrong on that)
I know wiki has a page with fusion core locations already
I am going to wait to purchase this for a couple reasons:
1. **** nVidia, my 290X would probably fair as well as a 960 will due to the tessellation so I'm waiting on a proper AMD driver that hopefully will fix it
2. I have too many other games to play! I have maybe 20-25 games installed through Steam out of a total of 150+ and I have been meaning to catch up
3. My keyboard and keyboard paraphernalia budget has started to cut into my gaming budget
Spent about an hour swimming around....for nothing. Just a big empty ocean of boring stuff.

I can give you a few more if you like:
1. 80 degree FOV
2. mouse acceleration
3. mouse smoothing
4. 30fps framerate cap on certain cards
I hate when companies "consolify" their PC versions.. Fortunately there are others who feel the same and have some tweaking skills:

I am playing this game entirely too much. I should probably get back to studying...
And addressing the supposed driver/graphics issues, I don't seem to have a problem at all. Running it on my gtx 970 at 1440p maxed out at ultra except AA turned down to FSAA and getting around 55-65fps with the occasional drop to 45fps. It's definitely exceeded my expectation as far as optimization goes.
wow hearing about all the graphic cards issues is upsetting. Im currently running it on high settings on a 680m mobile card and hitting 50-60fps. i was actually surprised at how well an older laptop card was handling the game. i would think any of the desktop cards released in the last 2 years would be able to run it easily.Spent about an hour swimming around....for nothing. Just a big empty ocean of boring stuff.
RadX hoarder humble brag
I've found three power armor, just leave them in Sanctuary. I like to play without it. Favorite perk so far, idiot savant, yeeee.yeah the hell with power armor... I have found like 7 or 8 power cores though... Pretty much every raider base has one!!!
It will be years until Fallout 4 is $10.
Better get in now. It's worth it.

Not true, there are a few sunken wrecks, floating islands, and something else really cool in the ocean that I won't spoil because I think it spawns randomly.
But your time is better spent wandering around with RadX in the south west corner of the map (where the bomb fell.) In a span of less than 10 minutes I picked up 3 unique items @ 7 Luck and gained 2 levels. Go there early because at higher levels the enemies will be a lot tougher, and it's probably the most difficult area (that I know of so far)

I've explored lots of wrecks and some things but the majority especially around the outskirts was barren. I won't ever go back into the ocean to check, wanna pm that really cool thing? I kinda got bored of the game, but I think I'll go exploring the radiated zone like you said, although last time I was there I had a fun time fighting a glowing deathclaw :(

I kinda got bored of the game, but I think I'll go exploring the radiated zone like you said, although last time I was there I had a fun time fighting a glowing deathclaw :(
Well, are 2 sets of power armor - one in the big lake near Sanctuary along with a Mirelurk King. There is a secret hole that leads somewhere deep underground near Salem but I drowned before I could reach the end (probably need the perk.) And there was a ghost ship that appeared where everything inside was floating around and when the sun came up it vanished.
That's all I've found so far aside from a few containers with items at the bottom.
i broke into the science center and the Dr. started shooting me with no health. Game decides to autosave... i have no restore points and 21 hours in... everytime i load i die instantly GG

Playing on PC? Can you use console commands to turn on god mode?
Main story line beat and i went with the BoS, level 42. Idiot savant perk is OP IMO i did not even find out about it till level 23. Game was fun, going to give it a few months and then play it through another time with mods on and go all melee. Something i also did pick up until late in the game, melee to me is OP. Still like fallout 3 the best.
Go to the Swan's Pond for super happy fun time. Close to Hardwaretown and Diamond City if you need help finding it.

I think the ammo you find with the blaster is all the ammo you get for it unfortunately, so use it sparingly.

Has anyone had problems with serious input lag?
edit: messed with the .ini , I'll see if that fixes something

Make your own, vegetable starch. You only need corn, muttfruit, tatos and purified water. I have a water farm that gets me a endless supply of purified water and I have large food farms as well.

just started doing this but now my resources score drastically outnumbers my defence score and I have no parts left :'(

Every toolbox will have some sort of item that provides adhesive, that's usually my first place to look for when needing some.

Yeah I'm doing the higher end armor and weapon mods and they all use up a crazy amount of adhesive
When I play later today I'll check how my adhesive farm is coming along

Oh ok yeah it does require a lot of adhesive. It tends to get a little expensive from the vendors but I usually make sure to buy them out of it.

I have seen a ton of different threads/articles on how to fix issues related to Fallout 4 but haven't seen any specific to input lag. Google would probably be your only hope here, on the chance that someone else is having similar issues.
I've been having a ton of fun with this game. Between my girlfriend and I's two characters, we've put 173 hours into the game already - and there's still so much I haven't done yet.
Settlements are awesome, I'm currently setting up my home base on Spectacle Island. Gigantic area, and the idea of having an island fortress seems fun.

Settlements are pretty cool but I wish they would get raided by bands of raiders or super mutants. I spent all this time building up a huge defense to never getting attacked once. I'm sure a mod will come out and make it a much better experience, the benefits of PC. :)

I've put in over 100 hours so far and have not got attacked once, I heard they would but when you get there some defenses were destroyed.
Mine have been attacked a few times. It's not often, and they never attack with more than four or five people it seems like. So far only Raiders have directly attacked my settlements, but I do see marauding bands of Super Mutants around. When you kill them, they have a note with orders saying to raid.I've been having a ton of fun with this game. Also, I should be ashamed of this, but I'm at level 24 and I only just visited Diamond City and still haven't been inside.
So do people think the problems with this game have been over-hyped? Should I buy it or what?

Depends on what kind of games you like
I personally think that Fallout is much more accessible than most games because it really gives you a lot of control over how you want to play it

Same here. I've experienced two or three crashes as well as a few bugs with entering/exiting terminals and power armors. So do people think the problems with this game have been over-hyped? Should I buy it or what?

In my 60 hours I've had two crashes. Fallout 4 is certainly the most stable Fallout (3, NV) release for the PC. Both the problems and bugs I've encountered have been minimal.

If you fence them in and give them a feeding trough it improves happiness by a lot. If you let them wander around the settlement free it lowers happiness.
Or just kill them and take their meat and skin :))
Speaking of improving happiness, I am in the process of building a Synth Internment/Concentration camp on Spectacle Island and my now Synth-free settlements have never been more efficient!
And oddly enough - no more mysterious murders in the regular settlements, although the Synth-only island now has an over-abundance of equipment failures. I knew those dirty Synth's were trouble.
I don't even have any brahmin - its the one from that stupid trading lady that always shows up

I pissed that lady off the first time I talked to her so she wouldn't trade with me. I ended killing her and ditching her body behind one of the houses. :p
I named my character Murdoch because I forgot it's spelled Murdock from the A-Team. Sadly they can't say that name.
I spent so much time setting up my home base...only thing is, I have no clue how to get the power working.
And I found Power Armor and a Fat Boy already. Part of me is now scared about what that says about the enemies.
Yeah, I figured out how to do the wire a bit ago. Bases are such a PITA. I wish there was an option to let the AI autobuild the base and manage it. It takes forever to get things set up, crops often won't grow even with people assigned to them, trying to select stuff is often buggy as hell and you won't be able to highlight something unless you get just the right angle, and so on.

I'd do that, but I hate cheating this early in a game.

I kind of lost interest in the game after beating the main questline. At first I didn't realize the settlement quests were endless and was stuck doing an endless loop of them, don't have any other quests and don't really want to go looking for some. Looks like I'm just going to be waiting for the add-ons now.

From previous experience with the Brotherhood- their ideals are xenophobic and they can be exceptionally cruel. Siding with them gives you no hope of controlling them. You are forever a stooge.

Companions are by far the worst feature in this game.
I dunno. Deacon will basically never be seen of you're trying to stealth and Valentine is useful for hacking terminals. And I love all of both of their dialogue.Companions are by far the worst feature in this game.
The only good ting about them is the extra carrying weight.

Today I realized I'm spending 85% of my time collecting junk, being overencumbered, and allocating inventory space which led me to also realize I was not enjoying this experience any longer.
It's time to take a bit of a break from this increasingly tedious experience, and perhaps return in a few months when the mods have worked out their bugs.
Really ****ing unexcusable how little Bethesda has bothered to address the crashing problem. Despite all the "fixes", the game is crashing at least hourly much of the time, sometimes every 20 minutes or so.

For all of my hours and gradual modding, I haven't crashed a single time. Have you wiped and reinstalled up to date video drivers?

Umm... Stimpacks are everywhere. I think I have like 600 of them. Also, just kill an animal and cook the meat, drink water, sleep, etc.
Aint nobody got time for that.
Well, you also gain experience for cooking!
(But really, it took me like 4 years to get through skyrim, I'll probably never finish my no-cheat game haha)
Cheats... Tsk tsk
Girlfriend just bought it for me today :3
I'm super excited to start playing this and being able to read through this thread.

That's the only way I know how to play Bethesda RPGs ^_^

Should probably start cooking some of that plant fiber BS or whatever.

Game basically crashes every 30 minutes or so now. I've tried absolutely everything to fix it at this point. At least it was fun while it lasted.Gahh, that's ****ty. Which platform?

I've got an AMD card (Rd 390x 4gb) and I get a driver crash whenever I have a mix of rain/fog/nighttime conditions. I'm assuming it's just a ****ty shader or something. Most of the time I'm quick saving like crazy but it's ****ed my progress quite regularly.

I'm on pc with a 770. I guess I'll just wait til Nvidia releases some sort of fix

Sorry to hear that. I'm also using a GTX770 and I've had no issues.

But he's short enough you can just jump over him. You can't do that with the other NPC's.

Valentine is almost perfect for me, he just dislikes when I steal (which is often). Deacon really was the best follower by far until I had to kill him ; (

You might enjoy playing with Cait, she'll approve of your predilection for theft.
Maybe someday I'll find a way to make the game stop crashing...

Sorry if this has been answered, do you have your game on a SSD or regular hard drive?
HDD
HDD
I had some pretty major issues with FO4 loading from a WD Blue drive I had: it crashed constantly and most often I'd get about 2fps before it hung up. I moved it to a SSD and have not had performance issues since (I have a 970 and a 5930k in my rig). Though, you've made progress in the game, so it could be something else. I'm not sure if this is a fluke, but maybe something to consider.

I've been playing bits and bobs between (mainly) losses in Dota. I'm still enjoying it, although I had to take about four attempts to kill that goddamn Mirelurk Queen. Didn't realise there was a rocket launcher inside until the fourth go. I hate Mirelurks so much.
I've tried to turn on god mode at some points to keep all of my hoarded stuff home with me, but my tilde key doesn't work =/
Also, I think the time has come to try mods. What has everybody been using? I'm guessing Nexus Mod manager is the best to use as that's what I used for Skyrim.

Yea, I've been using Nexus Mod manager. I've installed a bunch of settlement building mods, but that's about it.

I've not spent a lot of time building settlements. It just gets annoying, especially with the item snapping to things. Plus not being able to get enough stuff working.
And I never seem to accumulate enough stuff to build everything I want to... At the moment I'm just focusing on upgrading my power armour so it's all green :3
huh, I should watch that episode...
I need to get into the DLC. I think there's some new locations? D:
Once in a while I play...even with over 180 hours of gameplay there's still little nooks and crannies (mostly in historic/downtown Boston) I haven't seen.
Just started to play again after a 2 month-ish break and boy oh boy is it enjoyable. I'm only up to where you become a knight in the Brotherhood of Steel but I'm having a blast playing again.

I can't really get behind any of the factions tbh
* Minutemen - sorriest faction I've ever seen....get to "Defend the Castle" and see what I'm talking about. If you want to be one of the "good guys", join the Railroad
* Railroad - kind of like the hipster faction...their playthrough is pretty fun but can be pretty lengthy and sometimes annoying. Even at the end you're reminded that you must live with your choices...kind of a downer.
* BoS - arguably the most badass of all four factions but they are so arrogant. Michael Bay would be proud of this faction but honestly I went against BoS solely for the gatling laser and Elder Maxon's battlecoat. Not to mention the best explosion in the game can't be seen if you're allied with BoS and still have the Prydwen up
* Institute - how I feel Fallout 4 was meant to be played especially for first timers. But seriously f*** your son.

It really boils down to the end-game rewards. IMO The Railroad offers the best prize, although The Institute's prize is pretty sweet aesthetically.
Still haven't gotten it. My backlog is so deep, I really shouldn't be buying games. But seeing this thread... and GMG has it for 40% off right now...

Yea, resolutions other than 16:9 are pretty ****ed. I messed with the ini files a while ago trying to get all 3 monitors up, but the hud was totally screwed, all of the dimensions were done by percentage so they become all out if whack.
Well, hoping the next Fallout will properly support custom resolutions.

Lets hope it is on a brand new engine! Still can't believe that they made fallout 4 on the Skyrim engine from over 5 years ago. Well, tbh they said that the game was in development for that long but yeah...
Working in the games industry, hearing this statement makes me laugh :p You make it sound like Fallout 4 was just a mod pack for Skyrim.
For fun, If you were to make a game that has all the same technical features as Skyrim which engine would you chose: a) vanilla Skyrim engine b) brand new engine that has not shipped any games c) fork of the Skyrim engine where you can change only the things which need to be changed.
Taking option B adds years of extra development time. Skryrim engine, the 'Creation Engine', was brand new for Skyrim. Only Skyrim and F4 have ever used it. Event if they have time, virtual no companies have the money to make a full new engine for EVERY game release.
Most companies pick option C. Actually, many companies go to the lengths of doing a public re-branding of their engine! Placebo effect of it being new makes 'gamers' rave about the new engine but it's 75%+ the same code as the previous engine. The money spend on the re-branding has zero effect on the development of the game, but major companies still see positive reactions in sales when gamers think the next game is coming out on a new engine :))
Incremental updates are the way to go. Creation Engine uses Havok for it's physics. The version of Havok inside of Fallout 4 will be many increments higher than the version in Skryim. When you feel dissatisfied with the game you don't go "GOD, THEY NEED A NEW PHYSICS ENGINE. Still can't believe Fallout 4 was made on the Havok engine from over 15 years ago!". Yes, Havok has been used since 2000 ;D
Didn't really think of it that way, kinda feel like an ass now lol. But you have to admit that some of the limits on that engine such as physics tied to FPS etc shouldn't be a problem in 2015/16 (Not sure if it is the same as FO4 but I know that was the case in Skyrim). I've got no idea how much goes into actually making the engine, but with the new tech out these days most people expect to be able to utilize it, such as 144hz screens etc.
So, when you said about most companies just rebranding per say, is that what DICE/EA have been doing over the past 5 years with their Frostbite engines? I've always thought that they crazy for making a 'new' engine for each iteration of their games.

I hope I didn't sound too mean :p
In the past, Japanese companies would actually start from scratch every time - I think a lot of the Final Fantasy games did that. In reality while being great for innovation it is a huge risk.
For new tech, yes, I do agree that there should be better support - escpecially if a company wants to have a competitive edge on PC. The reality is that only ~1% of users will be able to take advantage of the features so the return on investment is extremely low. e.g. adding good VR support to an existing 'AAA' game could take a small team a few months at the very least. Those people need to paid a salary so the cost needs to be justified.
Physics tied to FPS isn't a 'problem' to the developers. It's just something that isn't worth supporting. There is very little return on investment for the time that will be needed to restructure the core of the engine. I guarantee that the decision to tie the physics and FPS was made by people who knew the consequences.
144hz screens is a bit different. They can only be truly utilised by games that run at incredibly high frame rates. A game like Fallout 4 wouldn't even benefit from the feature and the would require the game to run at a base FPS that is at least 4 times faster. That is pretty much impossible without cutting features such as draw distance, texture quality, AI, etc.
I totally get the logic you take with your points :D Being on the inside I just know a bit more about how it works. There are still LOTS of examples of where developers are just plain lazy and try and get away with releasing crap (*cough* my company *cough*) and it is not acceptable!
I wanted to love it. But it didn't suck me in. Perhaps I have to give it one more try. I also have the Witcher 3 and that got me into it immediately. I couldn't stop playing it.
Also, the Fallout 4 experience on the PS4 is somewhat clunky: FPS is noticeably low and controls are slow. (yeah I know.. PC masterrace)

Interesting. What don't you like about witcher that you do like about fallout? For me, witcher feels more vibrant, more atmosphere to it: the music for instance. Or the scenery.
I really should try fallout again. But I cannot find the time now. Haven't touch my PS4 for weeks.. too bad.
It suffers from being too clustered, whereas Skyrim had a lot of open area allowing each discovery to breath on it's own and have a greater impact as well as allowing for more of them.
One of the issues may have been that FO4 doesn't have any inherent mount to get around quickly so they cut down the size of the world map. They will probably add a goddamn vehicle crafting system in the second DLC that will require even more **** collecting and inventory sorting for even more crafting.

Yeah, I get the cluttered bit. There are a hell of a lot of things around the map.
I might have to start another game. I've got to lv44 and I've not got anywhere near as many side quests as I had in Skyrim, I want to go with the railroad and see what happens with them. Or just ignore the main quest completely.

I'm lvl 52 and I haven't touched the main quest line on purpose. I've just been wandering and killing. The Silver Shroud was fun though.

Bumping a bit dated thread, but I wanted to ask others. Am I the only one who completely surrounds each settlement with fences/walls to keep the baddies out? I couldn't help myself. I installed the settlement size mod so I could actually provide sufficient power, food, beds, and defense. So far it hasn't appeared to affect performance at all.

Wow, yeah my settlements look like garbage dumps compared to yours. Thanks for sharing, I'm going to delete all of my settlements now! Haha.

Anyone know if the nuka world trailer has any spoilers as I haven't finished the main story.
Thanks! Didn't read that much of your text because I don't think I've made it that far but didn't seem like a big spoiler.Anyone know if the nuka world trailer has any spoilers as I haven't finished the main story.
Other than working with the raiders to raid Sanctuary which is shown in the trailer, I didn't see anything that should affect the main story. So if you haven't gotten Preston to take The Castle there may be some interference with very early quests. It's going to be an entire separate map like Fall Harbor was.

haha I feel you. I have probably spent 20+ hours between my 2 main settlements. I STILL have not finished the campaign. I like exploring too much.
Haha. I feel ya. I put about 250 hours down. Thinking about getting the expansions and going back to playing.
I hear that Far Harbor is REALLY good. Once I finish all the quests I will probably get it. I bought F4 at launch and no lifed it for a week and then stopped playing for a long time. Picked it back up about 2 months ago.
Far Harbor is fantastic. The only complaint I would have is that the story is really concentrated in specific areas, and even after completing every quest in the DLC there were large areas of the island I never had reason to visit. But the story and the way they give the player choice and how it affects the world is great.
Wow, yeah my settlements look like garbage dumps compared to yours. Thanks for sharing, I'm going to delete all of my settlements now! Haha.
Unfortunately my game crashed pretty hard at one point and I lost like 12 hours of building Sanctuary. Then the mods didn't load back in right... so it doesn't look like that any more.
That's why I'm constantly hitting F5 for quicksaves.
I do. Had to revert back about 12 hours of saves to be able to get it to load up. ='[
