Also, anyone knows if it's possible to get a polycarbonate plate for this? Would love to have Ergo Clears/tactiles on another plate/pcb combo.

Still looking to buy a unique keyboard done in 2018 to totally NEW standards and visual presentation.  Please don't become another Mick Jagger succumbing to fans, who never want to change or adapt in any way.

What if the only way for people to hear "You Can't Always Get What You Want" was for Mick Jagger to perform it at a concert they attend? Very few people in the current community have used an SE, and I'm sure LZ's capabilities as a designer and his manufacturers have all improved since then. It's an interesting thing to think about. I don't think it diminishes his work as an artist to release a "2018 Remaster" of his hit song that many of his current fans have been unable to listen to?

Stopped using Google a long time ago, now everything can be seen clearly with no bias or interference by them.

I think I have a serious problem with my LZCL. I've been using it for a like a couple of weeks and then one day it stop working. I notice this has something to do with the connector, because I try moving the cable around the connector area around and sometimes the keyboard will be back to working. Turns out if I add a little force from the bottom of the cable where it connect to the keyboard it will work (image below). This to me seems like the connector doesn't have a solid connection to the PCB or maybe it's something else. I don't know, I thought you guys who have more experience on building custom keyboards could shed me some light.

BTW I have try using my HHKB cable and it behave the same, because at first I thought it's the cable that's the problem.

Can you take pics of your connector with just the pcb showing? We need to see the solder joints of the connector.

with big heavy alu keyboards, bending the cable can be pretty damaging. depending on the cable quality, either the cable or the pcb connector can pop out

we'd probably need pics of the pcb

So I could disassemble this without losing any tiny pieces.

I hope I can fix this. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I was wondering if anyone can help me with the programming since i have a couple issues I cannot seem to resolve and they are.

1. The backspace seems to have a crazy high repeat rate. I hit it a couple times and almost every time I deletes way more than I want it to. I have seen this on boards before but it usually affects the whole board and not just 1 key.
2. The left control and caps lock seem to be reversed and nothing I do in Jigon seems to resolve it. Plus Jigon sees the keys as being mapped correctly (caps being the in the right place, lctrl in lctrl location)
3. I cannot turn off the RGB underlighting. I have tried every mode under the RGB lighting section and it never turns off. I can turn off the per key lighting though.
4. Is there any way to increase and decrease the LEDs? In Jigon I only see options for the different modes but no way to adjust the lighting (both per-key and RGB backlighting)

This is a fantastic board and everything works perfect except the issues above and if I can resolve the above issues this will be my daily driver. At the worst I can always swap the PCB's but I would rather not desolder the whole board to do that. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions, thanks all.

Built with Tealios and SS plate. Tealios are okay for stock switches, but definitely need additional lube. Scratchy sound and a lot of ping. No competition for the Gateron Yellows and Krytox in my Octagon v2. As such, I will be desoldering the Tealios and swapping out for lubed Vintage Blacks, or possibly a hybrid of Tealio housing and Vintage Black stem.

The gray color does have a blue hue to it, but I don't detect a color difference between my top and bottom. I've noticed three anodizing defects - none of them are serious flaws though.

Alu plate and Alps plate unbuilt but planning to use Ergo Clears and SKCM Blues.

Make sure your switch isn't chattering. Swap in another switch and see what happens.

Jigon is kinda dumb about this. Have you tried putting the caps lock in the ctrl location, and vice versa? If it's anything like some GH60 PCBs, they're backwards on the PCB.

Set all the LEDs to black, or, on the newest version of Jigon, one of the modes turns them all off.

The brightness? Only for the RGB LEDs. In-switch is dependant on the presoldered resistors.

At the worst I can always swap the PCB's but I would rather not desolder the whole board to do that. Let me know if anyone has any suggestions, thanks all.

1. My best guess is that it's either a faulty switch, have you tried swapping it out? Or you may have let the solder bleed into the sockets for the split backspace positions and one of those positions is also bound to backspace, which means you are triggering multiple inputs with each keypress, when held down, doubling the repeat rate compared to a normal key. Photos would help troubleshoot this one.

2. When you have the board connected you should be able to press each key on the keyboard and see the corresponding position highlight in Jigon. That should help you identify the locations of each key. Alternatively you should check out your other layers in Jigon, you may be stuck on the wrong one, I would suggest changing every layer to be the exact same to see if that resolves your problem.

3. You will not be able to turn off the RGB LEDs without using a couple small jumper cable or an additional two RGB diodes to bridge the two positions that are not filled by default, right above the arrow cluster and below the extra-nav cluster. I'm not 100% sure of the specifics but troll around in other L3 Leeku pcb threads for more info, I recall reading it somewhere. Alternatively you can do what I do with L3 PCBs and just tape all the RGB LEDs, I use small squares of black electrical tape.

4. Not sure on this one, I believe in the per-key LED modes there are a few different modes (static) with different brightness settings. For the RGB LEDs there are brightness setting in Jigon, no clue if they work or not as I never use them.

Feel free to PM me if you have any further questions.

Thanks Puddsy and HappyCatFish, I'll try swapping out the switch when I get home from work as I am positive I did not get extra solder anywhere when building this board, I'll try swapping positions in Jigon for the ctrl and caps issue. I have 2 other TX based boards that use JigOn and neither one do what this one does so I did not even think of trying that (I own a couple GH60's so I understand what you are telling me)
Black for all RGB's again never thought to try that, that's a easy fix. I figured so on the in switch brightness but figured I would ask. Thanks for your help both of you I'll report back once I get home and can work on my board.

hope you didn't pay a lot for those switches.  There are better options

They were 104 for $175 from another user here on GH from England. They are probably the newest skcm browns i've seen. Why, what else you got in mind?
I am also building a setup with 65g silent black cherry in case i want to change it up. Im just waiting on my missing pcb and plate from LZ.

It is this one from amazon. The little magnetic tray boxes are the best part.

What tactile switches are better options in your opinion? Skcm Browns are pretty much the best I know.

Personally I think panda clears are the best tactiles. Not really a fan of tactile ALPS at all.

It's all subjective, really.
