Cherry KB for Scuba Diving Germophobes & I'm a Good Dad
« on: Sat, 12 November 2011, 23:56:53 »
I was shopping for a mechanical board for my son for Christmas, his very first mech board, and came across this board at NCIX and on the Cherry site (http://www.cherrycorp.com/english/keyboards/Industrial/2800/index.htm) .

'Member this post I made about a gross board at http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?17506-Look-at-this-and-then-tell-me-what-quot-POS-quot-stands-for ? Well, I was thinking this washable, submersible kb is probably 'the opposite'.

What frosts me, aside from Canadian winters, is why even on the Cherry site they do not say what kind of key it uses. I read somewhere this is  "tactile" so I was thinking browns.  So there you go, scuba-diving germophobes!

Oh, and the board I'm getting for my 11 year old geeky junior Keylamity v2.0?  An Azio Levetron KB588U Mech4 Mechanical Programmable Water Resistant USB Gaming Keyboard, with Cherry blacks.  Not submersible or germ free, but ok for spill-prone juniors who like 'cool'.

dont get your son that Azio board, for the love of design.

That thing is beyond hideous, and will take up a ton of room on his desk. So much unnecessary crap.
No, he’s not around. How that sound to ya? Jot it down.
