The GH80-3700
...is the way to make your Cherry numpad modern again. (Note: this is just a PCB, no case included)
It has pads to solder your own cable to, or you can use any USB-C cable while still keeping the vintage look,
as the cable connector is hidden inside. There is room for a rotary encoder as well.
For all your indication needs, the top row has individually controllable led locations just like the numpad toggle key does.
It also features a fuse and an ESD protection chip to protect the MCU and other parts of the PCB.
Features
- Designed to fit the Cherry G80-3700 numpad case
- Compatible with QMK Firmware and VIA Configurator (if you flash a VIA compatible .hex file)
- USB type C with C-C support
- ESD protection and fuse
- 5 individual LED locations, can all be used in QMK
- Rotary encoder support (top right key position)
- ISP header

Plate file will be made available.
Pricing & where to get
This PCB will cost 25 euro excluding shipping.
I will ship anywhere and I've made sure it's decently affordable even for people outside of the EU. This group buy is limited to 50 PCBs.
You can get it here right now, group buy closes May 31st. (https://maartenwut.com/product/gh80-3700-numpad-pcb/)
Thanks to ISO_returns for some of the pictures and for making this happen in the first place, by letting me borrow his G80-3700.

I don't buy things anymore but this is really cool, there are a ton of 3700's out there.

I take it the plate has to be sourced elsewhere?

Yes, but the file will be available to download.

There are a decent amount of orders and there's half a month left!

Anyone have any recommendations for a case for this guy. I'm having a bunch of trouble finding one.

If you have a 3d printer nearby or someone who can print it for you, I can probably whip something up in fusion.

It's the last day to get your numpad pcb (will close tomorrow night)!
Thanks to all who have joined so far.
-
And we conclude with 27 PCBs sold!
Now it's time for me to get these ordered.

So... Production is going well, but we're likely not going to make it to mid July because I'm waiting for parts that are delayed because of covid. I expect early to mid August for shipping. Thanks for your patience!

Alright, I got the cables in today and I'm happy to say that everything works as expected!
I have teased this before on Instagram and my discord server, but for those who haven't seen it yet: you can connect use a PS/2 mouse to it!
It works through the PS/2 mouse feature in QMK, but I should probably show it instead. Here's a vid:

Alright they're done and shipping soon :D

Will there be another run?
I hesitated the first run because I thought it would be impossible to find a GH80-3700 to Mod.
I found one...

There will be very few extras. (4 or so?)
If that doesn't work out, you could make them yourself. The design is open source on github.

All orders have been packed and will be shipped over the next few days. Thank you all!

The 3d printed case design is done, but I won't be able to test it right now due to a heat wave. When it's over I will print one and see if it all fits like it should.

So yeah, the files for these will be up soon :) (and I don't recommend getting it milled. It is not designed to be milled.)

I was able to print one, here are some pictures:

I will increase the chin size a bit and fix some small mistakes, then the files will be freely available.

I need this so bad, do you still have any extra?
-
Any update on VIA firmware?
-
This is super cool, wish I saw it when it was available.

Any update on VIA firmware?
Waiting for https://github.com/qmk/qmk_firmware/pull/10274 and https://github.com/the-via/keyboards/pull/301 to be merged...

How does one edit this file, to change where the stabs would be, I am not gonna utilize large keys on this.
