Ooh! That's a good idea. The previous design is too gem-like. If we can keep the brown color and do the new shell design in black to match the other black of the novelties, that'd be totes cool.

I do see how the darker blue would theme with Wartortle. I liked how the brown clashed with the rest of the set, making the Esc that much more noticeable. It's always good to see an Esc of a different color but somehow matches the theme of the set, and that brown did a great job with retaining the color of the shell.
I'm fine with either legend, but I see how the newer shell resembles a shell more than the previous. Whatevs.
Just glad to see the brown is back!

This looks neat and will definitely go with my aquatic theme that I am setting up. Though I kinda wish I hadn't bought a 108 keyboard since no set with the theme I want has the extra 4 keys

Yes, universal as in compatibility for ANSI/ISO and both bottom row layouts.

That plate is a hybrid bottom row layout but I could make one specifically for 6+7u bottom row too  :thumb:

PCB mounted 1800s feels a bit too mushy for me, and the dowels in the bottom and top casing are made out of wet tissue paper, they just break off way too easily. Gotta start getting better at generating 3D geometries so I can have my own 1800 cases made out of aluminium

I've only just started modelling the original 1800 plastic case and the moulded supports, it will be a long while before I make something noteworthy  :p

I never understood the love for 1800. It's like one inch shorter than the 3000, and SO much harder to get correct caps for...

It's a full size keyboard within a TKL form factor. What's not to like?

I'm definitely interested to take your finished design to run on acrylic as a tester myself. Am starting to hear creaks from my case already, rather have an improved case than scavenging for another case.

The arrow cluster isn't begging for a lot of space where it is than on a fullsized keyboard, it's ( the arrow cluster) something you can't live with out or without and that's when the 1800s design shined so much imo.

Waiting for GMK to update me. Their sales/pricing agent has been on Vacation (or just out for 2 weeks).

I did email them yesterday for an update though and I am waiting for a reply now.

For now, I see Sept 19th to be the launch date.

We'll take a few days to make sure we have all the proper units that need to be ordered, then make payment.

GMK says 10-12 weeks after payment.

Right? Tell me about it, gotten in on the popular 2-3 artisan rounds, the Keyboard & Co set, the MiniVan drop on MD (a little before September there but you know, still) and a couple more upcoming releases later this month, including Hydro.

I'm very pleased, wallet however is not. Going to have to pass off some of the sets and/or boards to the wife so that I don't "accidentally" get pillow smothered in my sleep one of these days.

I believe that WoB was priced well because of the uniform color pigment that it has. Hopefully Hydro can get close to it, but I'm not sure how color affects pricing.

Correct, BunnyLake mentioned previously that he would prefer to finish all of the outstanding orders and group buys before starting on other projects. I was not given any indication of when it will happen or who would host the group buy, but was told that it will happen. That was all the information I was provided with.

Correct, BunnyLake mentioned previously that he would prefer to finish all of the outstanding orders and group buys before starting on other projects. I was not given any indication of when it will happen or who would host the group buy, but was told that it will happen. That was all the information I was provided with.

He also mentioned in the JTK thread that they have agreed to allow specific other people run GB's of some of their colorways, so it is likely that if we do see Hyperfuse R2, it will come through a different host than CTRLALT.
