What is an elo boost?

Like get you to a different division?

What divisions did you try to boost to?

If you used a card with Paypal to pay for it, try doing a chargeback through your CC Company/Bank. I couldn't open a Paypal dispute because its way past 180 days. Called my bank and they've opened a dispute for me and their chargeback/fraud team is investigating. Doesn't guarantee that you'll get your money back but at least it's trying something proactive. Really disappointed too. I love 75% boards and this is/was one of my grails. First real GB with GH too. I bought something previously from Ivan's classified before this buy started and had no issues.

^ Indeed, there is a fine line. Sometimes it is difficult to tell. No one wants to be scammed. :(

This Ivan business is the first time I lost money on a buy. It's not the first time one went south tho. So much risk with this stuff.

Wait have you guys legit given up on Ivan?

I got my caps from him when he came back.

Though, from what I read he has been in the hospital?

I did almost get scammed by TheChemist. He had my board for almost a year.

Luckily he came back for a little bit and I got my board.

Then he vanished again and still has people's boards.

The cycle continues.

Yeah TheChemist is a weird one as he was very cryptic when he came back. I haven't been able to get in contact with him for some time now.

The general consensus has been that Druger acted on his own with his scam.  Do you have reason to believe that wasn't the case?

And who was beating around the bush?  :P

well i mean you have to get it verified live with one of the more trusted members of Geekhack.. like HOFF.. who pretty much doesn't sell anything..

And Hoff can't take a bribe,  I remember a thread a while back, mentioning Hoff gets many keycaps for free..   and actions such as that, if done on part of the sellers on the Marketplace is no different than an integrity/security compromise.  Because Hoff can't be an effective mod, if he's not impartial..

I am not saying Hoff is bad,  but he is being influenced.. potentially by scammerz.

It's just that right now, we have no provisions whatsoever against scammers..

I don't think geekhack needs to be responsible should scams happen,   but if we're gonna have a market place,   we should do something to mitigate these issues..

It's just going to keep happening..
