Artisan key cap issue
« on: Wed, 13 May 2015, 12:52:04 »
I just got a new cap in and I have a slight issue with it. The MX stem does not fit due to an irregularity. So I am left with a choice, should I make an attempt to get it to fit (modify the cap or stem) or should I just find a place for it to sit and look pretty(commit to being an investment)?

Could you be a bit more descriptive in how it fits/doesn't fit?

I have a keyboard with Cherry MX browns and the stem of the switch does not fit into the mount. The stem is incapable of fitting without shaving something down currently.

Good for you, I guess?!

Why not share your solution with the world and turn this thread from whining into charity?  ;D

Who made the defective key?  Who is "H"?

Sorry about the vague answer to my problem. It was exceptionally tight and after just sanding down the stem ever so slightly the cap fit without a problem. Was just a worst case scenario with deviation in the stem and how the cap fit on it.

Martin, AKA HKP

I think it's a Raven

Looks like the stem hole is a bit narrow, could probably be fixed with some carving but risk is you damage the cap. Have you PM'ed Martin?
