AMD Zen5 +40% IPC rum0r.

(1/1)

Seeeeeems, a little toooo optimistic.

9000 series incoming,  Rumors @ anandtech.

15-20% is guaranteed, 25% is already stretch, 40? 40?

Leslieann:
40% may be true, but it's instructions not total system.
Double the processor does not mean double the speed, by the time you get though the northbridge, ram, ssd etc.. figure 10% maybe a tad more at best. Also, it's a zero sum game... As you go faster you need more and more to even see a difference and you can never reach zero.

Is that number reasonable? Sure but it's also marketing B.S.
I think most people would struggle to tell a difference between a decent system today and a higher end system from several years ago on most day to day tasks and with the right GPU the differences would be even smaller.

This was alot more true before win 10 telemetrics boom + intel security nerfs.

IPC makes alot of difference in snappiness once the system gets a little cramp with background wares piling up.

AMD RDNA4 will have 2x ray tracing performance.

The Radeon 8000* series (in 7900xt perf lvl) GPU will target $400 and $500.
