I have additionally reached out to sixty and uranium, the first runners of Red Alert, and will update this IC when (if, unfortunately...) they write back.
Red Alert has run various times throughout the years. It first ran during 2011 as OTD Red Alert thanks to sixty and uranium, who worked extremely hard with SP to perfect their custom legends almost a decade ago.
Five years after the last group buy - and with approval from many previous RA runners - I have revived this classic colorway for a new wave of keyboard enthusiasts. The updated base kit has been paired with odes to OTD Red Alert and vintage Cherry keysets, including two Ramas approved by Cherry.

Looking forward to joining this weekend. That two-color brass Rama is amazing. My wallet and I are having a bit of a disagreement about how many to buy. I've been thinking it has a silver finish, didn't realize it is brass. So is it more silver-ish or gold-ish in color? (Sort of hard to tell on my monitor.)

That's correct. These Cherry Ramas will never run again.

I have zero clue, I've never even held the 2015 Hammer run before. All I can say is that this red will be matched to P3, which wasn't available as a stock GMK color back then. I believe it first debuted with Ceresia.

I think it is absolutely okay to say the following things:
- GMK Red Alert is a classic set in various senses: beige, simply-designed, pairing well with all sorts of muted keyboards (gray, black, white, tan).
- GMK Red Alert lacks some of the character of some newly-popular sets, like GMK Night Runner's amazing legends or GMK Oblivion's IDE-influenced modifiers or the incredible groundbreaking chairs of GMK Birch ;)
- GMK Red Alert is also not a new classic, like some of the sets completing or running R2 now (Dots, Striker, Bento).
We're at an interesting and fun place right now: meme sets like Handarbeit and Dots are popular enough to justify re-runs, pastel sets are selling gangbusters, other sets become successful thanks to gamers. Things didn't look like this even two years ago when I first joined the hobby, much less in 2015 when GMK Red Alert last ran.
So...RA is none of these, and that's okay. I'm running RA as a service for the people who really want it. If you like it, support it. If you don't, support whatever you like. We're all on the same team. :)

MOQ is 500 at this GB pricing based on GMK's quoting. Adding the R5 profile pushed up the manufacturing quote enough that, even running only three stock colors, and with a relatively standard base kit configuration, a $135 GB price made the most sense for vendors.
Meanwhile, the Cyrillic child kit is bearing some cost for new GMK doubleshot molds for Latin + Cyrillic alphas. Those are not pad-printed Cyrillics.

This is a great set, I think the big issue is there are so many high desirable sets that have been running so close to each other within the last couple of months. I can't think of any other time with this amount of quantity of popular sets running in this close a time frame. Also a bunch of custom keyboard GBs ran recently also draining people's wallets.

These days meme sets seem to do very well.. It can be disappointing for those who value classic sets like RA, but it's just a result of more people than ever being in the hobby, all with diverse tastes, and many of whom don't feel a great level of nostalgia for classic like RA (or 9009, Dolch etc)

All right, you know what, I cracked! The pressure was on, and Mykeyboard was just not at all closing this down and I cracked and bought all kits! Now I don‘t want any judging looks, I just did what I needed to do.

Mechs & Co tells us that (1) GMK Moonlight is about to ship and (2) GMK RA will ship after. So it seems like we're a few weeks out from shipping, at a minimum, followed by a few weeks to arrive at M&C.

Any info on the status of the brass Ramas? ProtoTypist has been received their alu ones, but has been waiting for the brass ones for months. All the while, other vendors have definitely received them as they pop up on mechmarket occasionally.
Still nothing here. My last piece of news was that Rama had to remake these, and seems to be extremely backed up. From MyKeyboard.eu:

Not me either. I actually just received another update - GMK delayed their shipment to Mechs & Co, but it's on the way now. M&C expects to ship to customers by late February.

I have heard folks are interested in seeing GMK Blue Alert. I'd love to run it (if I wasn't retired lol), but that's less straightforward - some other runners are exploring it though.
i might roll over and do it once dark sky ships, my first GMK set was one of the oco olivetti sets and i want that again

I've been in communication with MyKB about this issue for some time. I can assure you it's not their invoices. There's a lot of...stuff...going on at Rama these days.
