The first 30 will be shipped soon. The rest will follow after a few weeks.

Regarding alps for the new 75% I am not sure they will go along with it unless there are significant interest in it. If there are they can  get leeku to make them as an add on.

The suspense is real.  :-X

Well, there has been a LOT of Alps support lately and many in the community are starting to really pay attention to them. Hopefully we can get an Alps PCB!

Perhaps your cap craft has earned you such a reputation among enthusiasts, that keyboard manufacturers are sending you early releases in order to get a glowing endorsement?

Given that there was an ALPs option in this group buy, there were only 7 orders (2 of which were mine)..so I don't know..

Well, I did help repair phatdood's Viper PCB
I think I broke my pcb somehow resoldering the switches to gateron blues :-( on my duck viper. Every key works except the 7 key.

Is it possible to get a new pcb? Any tips on fixing it?

Thx so much to E3E for fixing my viper!   ;D

Also a buildlog for my Infinity keyboard: http://imgur.com/a/Zrcjx#0

I have desoldered, switch swapped, switch-tuned, and assembled many boards myself, including my Octagon, and I can do repairs up to pad and trace repair (though if your microcontroller is shot, your SOL with me).

I certainly don't mind being a last resort if you'd rather someone who has more history on this site. I did the Viper repair for free. I'd' pretty much just ask you to pay what you feel I should deserve for the assembly. If that's nothing but shipping, then that's fine by me.  :)

I can't lie that it'd be cool as hell to see an Orion in the flesh (though my heart will always be with the Octagon <3)

I'm also looking to get a soldering station.  I've got a few extra QFRs to practice on first - I want to convert one of them from browns to gateron clears.

I saw a picture with the LED pins clipped and inserted into pre-soldered pin holders - I'm guessing the board does not come with these clips?  I'm talking about the LEDs for the 3 and 5 array strips.  Just trying to get a list of everything I would need, and I like the idea of being able to easily clip and try other LEDs if I buy a bunch, than resoldering.

I think you're talking about SIP sockets. https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=51792.0

You'll have to push the sockets out of their plastic housing if you want the switch to close completely. http://imgur.com/a/asdXP

Very useful, thank you for the info.  I probably won't do much with in-switch LEDs, I'm more concerned with the 3 and 5 array, I'm guessing I can leave the SIP attached to the casing and just solder those on the board.

I'm getting the plastic plate, so I'm thinking there will be a bit of backlight bleed from the underside RGBs, which I like how it looks in the pictures.  Either way it's great to have the info on arranging the SIP.  Considering I ordered 60 zealios, I'll be modding around 30 other switches to add on the board for the non-alphas, might be a good idea to SIP on those while changing springs just for the future.

Due to limited amount of time (kids ), I am also considering getting mine assembled. Otherwise there is a great risk mine will be finished when V3 is out...   :(

Money is not a big issue, time is. As long as the build is made with tender loving care and I wouldn't expect anything less from this great community!  :)

Only problem is that I am located in Sweden, so shipping it + all parts to the States or Asia is a bit of a drag. Anyone located within the EU that has good experience assembling keyboards and willing to offer their services in exchange for some extra cash?

Am I the only one worried by the fact that my Paypal protection ends in a week for that paiement?

I don't see the point of paying Paypal fees if the shipping is done after the protection limit.

Also, Elton, please communicate. That's terrible to be in the dark like we are right now.

This is a valid concern. My transaction says (roughly translated): "If there's a problem, contact the seller through PayPal before the 20th October 2015", which is today.

I have confidence in Elton delivering a solid product, but expiring safety is always troubling.

Elton has run multiple group buys for Duck's custom boards. He has a stellar track record with handling large amounts of money and getting items out to people in the best condition possible. You have no reason to worry.

It's not against Elton, I trust him, but if anything happens (package lost, case broken), I feel like I'll be a very bad position.

It's not against Elton, I trust him, but if anything happens (package lost, case broken), I feel like I'll be a very bad position.

Also, what's the point of paying Paypal fees if we don't use Paypal protection?

PP fees are paid so that elton doesn't lose money on the buy. Otherwise PP takes a cut directly and he loses out. It just makes it so GBs are more appealing for leaders to run. Also elton will cover anything damaged if you notify him immediately. And also take note that your concerns are totally valid, but elton will take care of us and make sure everyone gets exactly what they paid for.

Then why didn't we just make a payment as gift?

Cross-posting from the Lightsaver photo thread: would like to clarify whether Duck boards are fully compatible with Apple laptops/desktops.  Apple's OS-X is mostly a black box mystery to me in terms of drivers, since I have never owned a device with one, so I figured I'd ask to make sure.

I'll gladly take your order if you're sceptical about this GB ;).

I think Eagle/Viper v2 are next. Not 100% sure though.

Elton showed Duck's plans for an Octagon v2 (if it's going to be called that again, anyway). I think Viper and Eagle v2 will probably be after that, but who knows.

Isn't there still the next Lightsaver group buy? Not sure what happened to this.

This is the current Duck group buy, once this is done then the next project should be the Octagon v2, then Eagle/Viper v2, and then hopefully a second round of Lightsaver r2. This group buy is near the completion stage waiting for the parts to be shipped.
