You didn't mention anything wrong with 7u, so I'm just curious about what's happening with mine and Prius's order. Are they being sent soon or are we waiting for the other plates to be redone?
All orders will be sent out with the correct/new plate.

Any pricing info so far for the ''bad' plates?

No. Don't expect a price until I actually announce it.

New plates are ordered ETA 1 week. These diodes are a pain to solder. Once I have the new plates all orders that require no assembly will go out. Assembled orders will take longer as I do have a personal life too. Your order will ship quicker if you do not require any assembly. :p

I've begun assembly, mainly diodes, and got my board working. My soldering is pretty ****, and I'd much rather you do it as I don't really feel comfortable doing it. If you don't know anything about soldering and you really want me to do it, I will however it won't be factory perfect. My board is made to work, not to look nice or anything else and yours will be the same. I will need everyone to PM me that wants free soldering work done so we can discuss what I'm doing. For now, I will put a hold onto all work as I really don't feel great about it. Sorry all

I can solder fairly well. Since most of us will be doing this ourselves now, do you have a tutorial of some sort we can follow?

I'll definitely make a guide - it's pretty straight forward when you get the hang of it, but the diodes are a pain as they don't have wires and they use pads instead.

So you will be able to ship all orders that require no soldering as soon as the new plates come in and are confirmed to be correct? Which should be end of this week / beginning of next week?

All orders that simply require packing will be sent the first Saturday after I get the new plates. I don't have a car and the walk to the post office is 30 minutes one way so I have to wait for people to take me

My friend is currently using the board but as soon as I get it back I will :)) Wasn't using it because the HHKBT is so nice.

Oh man, HHKBT in JP layout is probably my next board after this one! I'll have some questions for you later...

How much needs to be soldered?

From what I gathered, I believe the switch diodes, SMD LED's for the underglow, and potentially the SMD resistors if they weren't on already. Unless of course, the PCB's already had resistors and SMD LED's soldered on by Hojin (for those that ordered).

If you opted for a full assembly, you're looking at soldering your switches in as well.

That said, I was under the impression that the diodes were supposed to be wired - guess not. SMD soldering is a PITA until you get the motions down.

Diodes, switches and SMDs (if you chose to have them) all require soldering.

I had an email noting that they essentially screwed up the confirmation, I asked for a shipping date and they said the 16th. This means orders that just need packing will go out on the 20th and perhaps a couple of assembled orders along with those.

Not sure how I'm going to go about it. With the current plates it's hard to incorporate it without paying more for new screws/pop nuts. I'll give it some more thought before I officially take orders for it.

What sort of price range should it be in?

Ideally, I'd personally like a design I can cut myself and get the appropriate mounting hardware as needed. I'm not sure how much it would cost for you to do, but I'd like to keep it around the $20 USD range. I'm not familiar with how these things should be priced, though, but the concept itself seems simple.

Okay so I've gone over the plates and in short I'm much happier with them.

This is the 2nd version of the top plate, and with the knowledge from the 1st one, I put that into use and implemented some changes that make it more solid and easier to build with. This in turn makes it visually nicer too. I've got an album here that you can check out, but here are the main pictures/changes. I know they don't have mounting holes, I'll be drilling these myself (it allowed me to have a slightly different, better finish from the factory).

I'll work on getting orders that just need packing out within the next week, and I'll be soldering people that have asked me to. If you haven't contacted me yet, please do so we can work something out. Thanks everyone for your extended patience and understanding.

Old plates

New plates

The main change (new on top, old on bottom)

A change to the right shift cluster to add support and ease when building

The main reason plates were redone

The secondary change to the left cntrl/winkey cluster

Showing that both layouts now work flawlessly (left to right, top to bottom - new plates with 1.5u/7u bottom row, old mule, new plates with 1.25u/6.25u bottom row, pcb, new plate, old plate)

So does this mean that since you said you can only go to the post office on Saturdays that you wont start shipping these until next week on the 27th? Any chance of getting some of these out tomorrow?

Sorry for the disappointing news but it's out of my control.

A family member's health went downhill overnight, and they're currently in hospital waiting for their liver to become healthy so they can find out what's wrong. I'm not able to get to the PO because of this (I need a lift there as I don't drive).

I really, really thought I could get the first couple out today but it's out of my control. I hope you can forgive the delays and problems, and I'll make sure they won't happen again as long as it's in my control.

The factory that laser cut the plates may be able to use their drilling equipment to do the holes so looking into that, it will be cleaner and so much easier in the current situation.

The cleanest option would be preferred. Were they not able to do it when they first cut the plates? How much of a delay would this add to the orders?

Thanks for uploading the file. Im assuming shipping times are not included in that 3-5 day turn around. So this is likely a 10-14 day process?

Yeah, they couldn't use their drill press at the time or something like that. I don't really understand it too much, but the plates look better than the first lot so whatever.

I've realised that I've asked a question similar to this before, but my opinion on the matter has changed (all in the name of variety!), but are Costar stabilisers supported by the PCB and/or plate? I'm aware that Cherry are being used.
