Definitely interested. For color, what about an "elephant gray", to keep with the theme?

Missed out on R1. Would be stoked to get in on R2.

E-cyan/light blue like cerakote Robbins egg would be prime.

R1 supports ISO so this version shouldn't be different in that regard.

I'm really fan of this design.

Just one wish, is it possible to add to the thread the price for shipping to some regions: US, EU, Asia.. As it's not a light board I guess shipping will not be so cheap therefore people would be interested.

Thanks

2 .cambered surface make this board more unique

I don't understand.  Is this a list of new things for this round?  Do you have any sketches or mockups to show what you mean by RGB curved?

Please please please please do not add a badge to the top of this and ruin the incredibly smooth and clean aesthetic. I would also not enjoy RGB on this either.

I *think* it's the indicator (pictured unlit, it's a bit tough to see) between the left function macros and the rest of the board but I'm not entirely sure.

I'm not sure how big a change you are willing to make to the design but here is my 2cents.

-I think having a smaller layout (hhkb like but keeping the function column to the left) with the huge bezels would be really interesting. The contrast between the case size and key number would be fun.
-I don't care much for anything rgb and am neutral to whether it's there or not. If it is there then I would prefer underglow or a vertical line between the main layout and the functions.
-Actually, if you are going to add a name plate maybe add it in between the main layout and the function keys and accentuate it with rgb around it?

Whatever happens I'm supper pumped for r2!

I am in the boat of not adding a badge. I think part of the S7's aesthetic is the smoothness and the simplicity. I think a nametag would disrupt that. Should you still want a nametage, I think it could go well on the back of the keyboard, where it is still present, but it would not break up the theme on the top.

Sidenote: Are you sure that you want to keep the price at $350? I though I heard that you ended up taking a loss on the first run.

I second this as well! Please keep it simple as before!! For colors I would also like to see an elephant gray like from R1 if possible. I think it would go really well with this. And please no RGB lol. Thanks!

"People", being me, and pretty much only me. R1 was an extremely slow seller, and I'm surprised it managed to make MOQ at all. Outside of my all brass unit Ja3soteric and the silver one TaehaTypes assembled, pretty much none of the units have been seen by people. I still have seen relatively little interest in the board, and I'd very much expect you to have plenty of time to pick one up. This is not something that will sell out in minutes.

1/ The fact R1 sold out slowly doesn't mean this one will - people talking about the board, TaehaTypes' video on it, etc. Those are all things that will make people want this board.
2/ "pretty much none of the units have been seen by people" - that doesn't mean anything, I mean, your sentence. I'll go and assume you mean almost none of the units have been seen in the wild which is a good sign to me since that means that the owners like their board and don't want to let it go.
3/ "I still have seen relatively little interest in the board" - there weren't many boards produced in R1, so not a lot of people post about it, true. That said, people comment and seem to like the board when it's posted/when it appears on stream. I'd like to see what you base your statement on.

1/ the times it HAS appeared it's been mostly ridiculed by people, because most find the bezels impractically large. Indeed, I needed to make a much taller wrist rest in order to type in mine comfortably at all. It's overall dimensions are quite a lot larger than a TKL, meaning it's a hard sell to anyone actually liking smaller form factor boards. The lack of keys make it less desirable to those who typically use boards of this size.

2/ Yes, I meant seen in the wild. And no, I was NOT referring to for sale. I mean actually seen in person by non-owners. I can't think of a single example that has yet appeared at a Meetup, unless Nathan took his to Seattle this year.

3/ I still don't see enough interest in this board to warrant the idea of it selling out in "seconds", let alone hours. I'm basing my statement off of when I see it posted somewhere. It's too much of a novelty to have large appeal. Even with a 50 unit limit, I don't expect this to sell in the first day.

Yes, e-white will be great. Can you also make the plate more recessed into the case so the bottom edges of the caps disappear in the body of the case?

Looking forward to it!

Sidenote: Are you sure that you want to keep the price at $350? I though I heard that you ended up taking a loss on the first run.

Yes,$350 is fine for me even if it doesn't have enough profit but i know what price people can accept it

thanks  :thumb:

Ah, excellent. I hope we can make it to 50! This community has grown a lot since R1 but we’ll see if people are interested in these giant bezels. I for one love the simple but massive design.

I'm gonna say something unpopular, Jacky. Raise the price. I don't want you to have to pay out of pocket like in round 1.

Great looking board. I also agree in that the nametag will ruin the board's simple look.

Either way, I am interested in the board!
Past Keyboards : LZ CLS, Unikorn, Noxary X65, KFE CE, HHKB Pro2, Realforce TKL

Current Keyboards: FC660C, HHKB Pro1, GSKT-00

More details :

1 .Top right corner it have a nametag

2 .cambered surface make this board more unique

                       3. Left side have RGB curved besides five macros have Rgb curved

4.There was no bottom like ca66 design coz it will make case more higher.

                       5.8 degree

I don't understand.  Is this a list of new things for this round?  Do you have any sketches or mockups to show what you mean by RGB curved?

Seems like it is the same list of the first round, in fact idk what he means for nametag (there was no nematag in r1 but that list was the same)

I'm totally in!

My advices:
- Keys more recessed inside the case, so it's just a case design +1 or +2mm in height
- Walls tighter to the caps (slightly, to reduce the gap)
- Maybe make a version of the plate without too many useless holes, most of the people will build it ANSI and prefer no cheese plate (e.g. 2 plates: 1 Universal plate + 1 standard ansi)
- E-white and also DARK PURPLE (not pinky purple)
- Less important than other points, what about custom designs on the weight? (for higher price)

Agree with all of the above - imo with bigger cases lower sitting caps are better. I like this board - awesome design.

Oh my goodness yes, I’m so excited to see a second round of this! I’ve been wanting one of these for ages, and will absolutely get one.

I would love a very dark green, dark blue-gray, or dark purple, though the gray and black ones I've seen also look amazing.

I echo what others have said about recessing the keys and tightening gaps if possible!

Not keen on the name-tag to the corner. Looking at some of the photos I agree that slightly tighter fit would be ideal, but not a deal-breaker for me - just want one of these amazing boards. :thumb:

If you’re not making any changes to the design then colour samples would be sufficient but if you’re changing any of the geometry I’d say some form of prototype is a must. Even if that drives up the price a bit. I’d rather pay for the R & D to get a better final product.

it depends on the design changes imo. If you keep the board as is, no name tag or anything, I would just provide the new color samples - if you are just going to change the tolerances, a new proto can be made but is not necessary. If you change more than that, I'd go for a prototype, indeed.

Again, this is just how I feel, others might feel differently.

Having taller walls for the keycaps to sit more flush with the case. So the plate is sunk into the case a bit deeper. Also reducing the gap between the case walls to the keycaps on the horizontal axis. So if you look straight down you don’t see as much of a gap between keycaps and the case walls.

yes, I meant this suggestion

for the color I propose a blue like dark solarized,
with the next release of SA dark solarized the matching is endgame imho.

The spacing is fine. As it is I can barely fit my puller in those spots.
Same with the sidewall height. It doesn't need to be recessed further. (pics related)

Pls relocate the bumps-ons so they aren't over the screws again.
Also consider using daughter board so you can clean up the usb port.

Based on those pics I agree that the case design wouldn’t need to change. Looks tight and high-profile enough as it is!

for brass parts we will do E-clear finishing (Oxidation prevention and stain prevention )

Groubuy open tmr morning.

we keep price for $350 and 100 units (group buy open for a week if we hit 100 first that `s will closed in Advance)

Are you ready for this ?
Hey Jacky, I'm not gonna be able to get a second one after all. However, would you allow the option to buy just parts? I'd like another PCB and a box, since mine got damaged very badly.
I long for the day when I find a beamspring. (At a not insane price)

Absolutely, please publish the GB link. How long will you allow for paying the invoices? I hope you use PayPal.

Jacky, are you still offering the right blocker by the arrow key, like the R1?

Hey Jacky, do you have any other photo of the purple sample please?
Maybe you have other purple objects to compare  ;D

Also:
- No PVD on brass plate and brass weight?
- Brass plate this time is in the base kit?

Oh literally no PVD this round, sad, i would prefer to delay gb and male pvd :(

E-white+ black pvd is awesome

Can you at least give an option to take brass instead of alu (not as an upgrade)?
