Not sure about bstock process still.  I filled out the form.  Just wait to see?

Should be up later this week. I'm still waiting on a few people to decide if they want a case from the current run or if they want to wait.

Is there an estimate on the timeline for the remanufactured set? Last I saw was Q1/Q2.

As of right now, looks to be the end of Q2. Going to be paying them today and should have a sample from them before CNY. Not sure how long production will take with them, but from other boards that were made there, looks to be a little longer than the old factory.

Hey! I haven't received any email with pics for the already made cases. How should I proceed? Send you another email asking for pics? Can you copy me into the email you already sent?

Thanks!

If you're part of the original GB and would still like to see the first run of cases, this is the final call. The deadline is this Monday as I will need to sort through the remaining units in the first run and allocate them to the b-stock sale which will be happening this week if I can complete everything on time.

The second run has been reviewed and paid for. A sample unit should be here in a few weeks time before the Chinese New Year break. The original GB wasn't done with enough of a margin to pay for two entire runs so this was an out of pocket payment for me. I will be putting b-stock up for sale asap to recoup funds. Packing material will most likely be simplified back down to bubble wrap, foam sheets and corrugated mailers that I have used in the past.

The PCBs that I have on hand will be used to fulfill orders that have opted for the current run as well as the extras. New ones will be manufactured for the second run. Same fab, same design.

Cast resin shifts are not yet completed. They will not be able to be purchased with the extras that go live this coming week but I might make them available as an in-stock item on the storefront later if there is enough demand.

Edit: Current run of cases, regardless of if you are in the GB or if you are purchasing an extra will be shipped towards the end of this month or during next month. If everything arrives earlier than expected, I will ship asap.

Fill out this form if you want an email when extras go live.
https://goo.gl/forms/jdnuJtFwKhQrLDPC3

Edit (again): For GB participants, your partial refund (if you've opted for a board with blems) will be issued at the time of shipping.

Also might be worth noting, but final PCBs will be QMK as requested by a large number of people. PCBs will be fully assembled and not sold as blanks like in this pic. Soldermask will also be white and not green.

Regarding the PCB, is it possible to fit hotswap sockets into the switch holes like the Alps PCB projects of lfkeyboards?

I've never tried. The holes for the switches measure to 1.44mm with my calipers.

I see all the b-stock are standard spacebar. Is it possible to buy one and get it changed to split space, for an additional fee? Or should I just wait for R2?

I just checked out the photos and boy do they look rough. This factory was completely incompetent. :( These would cost me many times more to fix than the small discount being offered. What are most people going to do to try and fix these? I checked local kera coat shops and it doesn't appear to be very cost effective.

How much does it cost to get anodization stripped and re-done? Hopefully the ones with bad ano can at least be fixed.

Really a shame to see so much work get **** on by the manufacturer. Thanks a ton for the detailed photos and for being so thorough with this process.

Ok, any updated on resin 1.75u shift coming in stock? (Will there be extras and if so, when would they be available?)

Also if we buy these FCFS cases do they ship within a couple days?

What switches will people be using on theirs?

I知 new to Alps anything, so suggestions would be great. I only have dampened alps due to an old AEK I have. I read I could linearize them if wanted, but I知 not sure if that would be wise. I like both linear and tactile switches, so this will be a tough decision.

I'm going with oranges on mine. Recommend orange/salmon for tactile and green for linear. Blue obviously for clicky but I'm not a fan of clickies personally. Amber are also pretty nice but rarer, same with brown. I say orange/salmon and green as they are great switches that aren't too rare and therefore don't cost silly prices.

I'm new to the Alps game too, and got some nice enough oranges because I generally prefer tactile, and they are easier to get. They are getting ultrasonic cleared and dry-lubed.

Make sure you paper-mod them. Cut little squares out of paper, and slip them in between the housing and tactile leaf. Makes for more consistent tactility, and eliminates any "double click noises" on the downswing.

As a quick counter note, I personally highly recommend you look up the sound differences for click modded vs  not click modded. Personally I really regretted doing it to mine much prefer the stock orange sound.

Don't click mod! (At least on oranges). Paper mod is all you need, and is easily reversible (take out the paper) if you don't like it. No cutting required.

I received my Lunar today and assembled it -- it's absolutely gorgeous, by the way :^). Is there some information/documentation anywhere on how in particular it should be programmed? I know the firmware is QMK. Plugging it in, keypresses don't do anything, though it's recognized in QMK Toolbox as an ATmega microcontroller.

Do you have a link for an in depth paper mod guide. I have yet to start customizing alps switches and would feel more confident watching someone else do it first.

take a slip of paper and put it in between the tactile leaf and the front of the housing

Yeah basically this.

Small update but I've recieved the sample for the new factory. It looks fantastic so I've moved forward and started production. They will have the materials before CNY but will start machining and finish everything else right after.

Extras of the resin shifts will be made available when they arrive at the end of next week.

As for original orders with resin shifts, those will be going out at the end of next week or the beginning of the week after next if you have a case from the first run.
