Judging by the popularity of the recent Xmi Handarbeige set, this original GMK version deserves a re-run.

Xiami Handarbeige was $30 and in stock. I don't want to be the guy bringing up GMK pricing and lead times but come on, it's not even close.

It wasnt the pricing that made xmi handarbeige that popular, it was more so the handarbeige colourway itself (look at other $30 xiami kits like the egyptian and 6085 ones. People dont care about those.)

Its not possible to buy it for that much since like 3+ months now. Moreover, GMK is just superior quality. Xiami makes by boards sound dead. The purple in the xiami handarbeige is also so dull.

Just want to give some tough feedback here:

I am not sure how successful this set will be. There's a lot of GMK beige options right now, and people that really want Handarbeige had the option to purchase it recently from another manufacturer.

I love beige. I also love handarbeit, but this set is more niche than both of those. The contrast on certain keys (enter) is almost illegible.

I do think there's a market for this set, but it is a strange time to run a GMK groupbuy. I am simply concerned this set will be challenging to get across the finish line, and it will be a repeat of the first attempt.

My personal suggest would be to wait until GMK is really pumping again, wait times go down, and GB sales go up to try to run this.

Regardless, I do want this set to succeed (really true for any set), and I wish you luck.

Hey Bub, thank you for your thoughts on this!

Regarding the time of the group buy, I agree this is a weird time for the keycap market, but given the interest I've had from both buyers and vendors, I wanted to strike while the iron is hot. Also, re: the yellow on beige, I've had physical samples of the colour from GMK, and it is much more legible than the renders would have you believe. It has been a thought in my mind during this whole 18 month process, but I am confident that it will turn out okay.

Also, a general request to anyone who wants to see new artisan collabs for this gb, let me know who you would like to see me collab with! The gb is fast approaching, so I'll be reaching out to makers once the dust has settled for me (just started a new job, and I'm moving cities soon)

One thing I noticed is that you have 2x 1.5u supers but no alts to compliment these. Is it still possible to add 1u alts to the r5 kit for HHKB users? I understand r5 keys are expensive and it might be too late to add these.

Edit: similar issue with extensions kit having 1.5u supers but only 1x 1u alt in base so these can't be used with hhkb either. Seems a little weird when a 6u spacebar is included in the same kit but not a second 1u alt.
