« on: Mon, 26 September 2016, 06:22:07 »
Whats the best connector? atm im building a case AND i have the room to choose an good connector.

It needs to be micro to one of those sockets

Having to decide between

it will be an wooden case, so I can either glue a already made cable in or work with one of those socket-on-a-pcb

Conventional wisdom says mini.
If you've got space though - how about a honking big aviation plug?

I don't like removeable plugs in general, because they seem to be a sure failure point, but I just bought one of these for a project with an internal Teensy.

"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

With aviation plug you mean somewhat like those?

using mini USB has the advantage of lots of cable options (beside DIY)

The USB B cable looks good!  Would just need to source an nice cable.

Did someone see those reversible pluggable micro usb cables?

I would probably go with Mini just because that is what is the most common. So when it comes to options for custom cables... things will be alot easier.

aviation plug would be best but the standard connector is mini since the issues with micro
unless you want to do a reversible micro usb plug or type c is the same

Thanks, will then go with mini or aviation (I still need to look up how much effort it is to make an nice cable for (will then need to make one micro usb-aviation socket+one aviation plug-usb plug)

Quarter inch jacks.  Can't go wrong with them.  And if the standard evolves and calls for another conductor, all you need to do is add another jack.

SDL means business. That would get my vote.

Otherwise, Type B.
